Leaving Drawers and Doors Open

So, does this happen at your house?
Father and son do it here and the son that moved out does it!
I looked on Google to see if there might be a name for this...this disorder,
I'll call it! hahaha.  Lots of complaining about it but no official name.
At least I know I'm not alone!

  1. I like to leave stuff out but I don't leave drawers or doors open, and neither does anyone else at our house. I can imagine that this drives you (somewhat) crazy, though, right? :)

    1. Yes, somewhat. hahaha! But mostly it makes me laugh and roll my eyes. What on earth?!

  2. Hi Betsy - way too many pretty things to look at ... so they forget that 'things' have somewhere to go, and drawers need to be shut - love it though ... I can imagine you'll be laughing and saying what next, where next ... life is life isn't it! Cheers Hilary

  3. We have some doors in our kitchen cupboard that easy for us both to leave open while working. Both of us have run into them and hit on our face or head, so we stopped doing that.

  4. My advice... never ever start an argument over it.

  5. Ha! I'm glad you're laughing. :) No one here does that, but we have other issues!

  7. My dad used to say two things about this.

    Sometimes:
    "Put wood in hole, son!"

    Sometimes:
    "Godfrey, Gordon, Gustavus, Gore,
Please remember to shut that door!"

    lol

  8. When Hubby empties the dishwasher he opens ALL the cabinet doors, and doesn't close them till the job is done! When I see that I have to leave the room or I'll say something I will regret later.

    1. Now that wouldn't bother me....he's doing the chore and closes them when he's done. If he left them all open, though...lol...that would really be something!

  9. I don't recall encountering this problem growing up. Now, of course, since I live alone, it isn't an issue at all. (Orson hasn't learned how to open drawers... yet.)

    1. We need to ask Orson what little habits you have that bother him. :)

    2. Haha! I'm sure he could write a whole guest post on my blog. I know for a fact he didn't care for two young ladies who visited once or twice. One of them aroused suspicion in his mind because she owned a lot of cats. A LOT. Like, over 20 at the time! He picked up their scent on her and started hissing at her. The other woman stated while he was in the room that she didn't like cats, at which point I looked at her (and he probably did, too) as if to say, "Well, HE lives here. You don't. So maybe one of you should leave?"

Nice to see you posting here more often lately.

  10. Sigh ~ yes, my dear, you are not alone. It happens here all the time. And around here it doesn't have to be left completely open...dresser drawers often only need another 1/4 inch push and they'd be closed. :)

    1. Maybe we should just come up with a name for this! haha.

  11. So far I've not had that problem....Lord knows I have enough other oddities around here. I won't disclose my dearest's habits. HaHa. Guess what Betsy...Remember I said some birds were making a nest outside our window. Well I don't think it's a sparrow, as Don got a picture this morning and it's a little brown bird with an oranged colored chest. Will post it tomorrow. Maybe you can tell me what kind of bird it is.

    1. Oh, how exciting! I'll be looking for your picture! No matter what that little bird family is, it will be so fun to watch them!

  12. Yes indeed...I have bonked my head on the corner of an opened cabinet door...forgotten to close...
Somehow I fell off your blog site but now I'm back again through Wanda.
Good to see that you are still blogging.
    I missed it.
