Around Here, Lately

I painted a growth chart to put in the antique booth.
If I had grand kids, I'd keep it, especially when it matches
my living room so well!

My blackberry bush was the inspiration.

You know how much I love clouds!  And I've
named this summer the summer of the clouds because
they have been spectacular here in Ohio!

This is how I begin each day...coffee in bed with
a furry friend.

It's been so hot lately, the last cup of coffee for the day
usually turns into a chilled variety!

We had another picnic at Buck Creek State Park.
The seagulls are everywhere!

We recently got an electric smoker.  Our first attempt
was a brisket.  These sandwiches were to die for!
Yum, yum!

Looking back where I've been.

    1. They are doing just fine! Happy guys as always! We are taking them for a week's stay on the east coast. They have never seen the ocean before so that should be fun!

    4. Well, not really near you. We'll be on The Outer Banks off the North Carolina coast.

  2. Betsy, this summer has been a great one for beautiful cloud formations in Georgia and Alabama. I love seeing the pretty colors and the big puffy clouds.

  3. Some great shots here. The photo of the seagulls standing in a line looks like they consciously posed for it.

Had any problems with tornadoes lately? We had one in Webster two days ago. I was sitting in a parked bus when it hit. Two trees snapped in half less than twenty feet away from me.

    1. Those seagulls are very entertaining! They stand a ways off waiting for food. You don't dare give them a piece of something or a hundred will swoop down and you will feel like you're in the movie The Birds! haha. But as soon as you pick up and leave, they quietly walk over and see if you left any crumbs.

  4. Hi Betsy - good insteps ... but home looks quite delightful ... all the necessary trimmings and knowing there's a happy husband, triplets well looked after, a million and one kit-cats ... and a delightful son with DIL too far away for you - but setting up their lives. Lovely to see - cheers Hilary

  5. Your cubicle display is so wonderful. I may have one in the near future. I have had a lot of those old jars and things like that but never thought I could make it into an artistic museum piece. Your photos are all wonderful. We missed a vacation this year so your trips to the beach are fun to see. I may have to try cold coffee. I tried it once at the bookstore.

    1. Are you planning on building one? This one is very old but it was made from plywood. The little shelves are set in grooves and can pull out to adjust the size of the cubbies. And yes, it's a great way to display all those little things. I'm enjoying it a lot. I got lucky and this one was the perfect color for my room.

  6. Just love that growth chart Betsy . . . Selina wants me to make one for her but could not possibly equal that one . . . so beautifully designed. You ooze class, girl.
Beautuful clouds . . . love them too.
That cat looks as though he/she has drunk your coffee . . lol
    I'm boarding a pane for a brisket . . . lol . .
Looks as though something has eated half your foot . . . by the footprints . . . lol

    1. I have seen some growth charts that look like oversized rulers. I bet you could do that! Very fun! I think Jon needs one, too! haha.

High arches....no flat feet here! haha.

  7. I love that growth chart that you painted, Betsy. Is there no end to your talent? I also love that whole shot that you captured...a bit of the living room and a bit of the kitchen! It could be the cover on a magazine! We had the most spectacular thunderhead clouds last evening...did I have my camera with me? No. But I love clouds also. :) The sandwich made with your smoked brisket looks so so yummy. The sea gulls look as if they are lined up for you to take their picture. :-) Wonderful to see a post up from you. xx

Want those grandkids popping out at their lair? lol

    1. I would never pressure them at all.
I remember the awkwardness of that call! haha.
Babies will come when they are ready
so I'll just hold nice and steady.
I'm too young to be a grandparent anyway.
Say yes and I will let you pass this way.
      hahaha....
