Home Sweet Home

the view from my kitchen desk

"With pomp, power and glory the world beckons vainly,
in chase of such vanities why should I roam?
While peace and content bless my little thatched cottage,
and warm my own hearth with the treasures of home."

Beatrix Potter

A quote after my hermit's heart.

    1. Perfect place for my desk...but I admit it can be a little distracting,
especially if I have by camera close by!

      We're wise and bright.
      Leave us alone.
      Crowds make us groan. hahaha.

  5. I have visited Hilltop Farm twice, but it is not thatched! However there is a magnificent fireplace in the entrance hall that I would dearly love to own! It would be lovely to sit by in the Winter, toasting crumpets.

That's a great photo of your window, shame it's not real stained glass. If I lived near you I would make you a splendid one for your kitchen; mind you it would cost about $10, very expensive! Ha!

    2. $10 and a plate of cookies. It's a deal. When are you moving? :)

    3. This is the "fly-in-the-ointment" as we say in the Home Country. It will cost me $91,943.60 to sell up here and buy a place in Cedarville and cover my expenses, and that is just an estimate! (I know your cookies alone are worth that!) Ha!

    1. That's a huge burning bush. We naively planted it on the shady side of our hour 20 years ago and now that it has grown as big as the house, the top of it get enough sun to turn red. lol.

That way I can work and stir the spaghetti sauce at the same time. haha.
