Auction Stories

Once in a while I see something at an auction that just
HAS to come home with me!  You should have seen the
guys when they came home and saw this in their room!

  1. Oh Betsy! I LOVE it! I can just imagine how much the guys love it! SO cool. Ofcourse you know that I am totally jealous that you got to go to an auction today. :) When we went out to dinner this evening we passed the road we turn off on to go to the auction. I told hubby that it didn't seem right...a Friday night and no auction. haha I saw on your Instagram the picture of the tins and the green mason jar...things like the Calumet tin bring big money here. It is crazy how much money people will spend on anything that is of the advertising nature. They should save their money and buy important things like dishes. Oh wait! If they did that then they would be bidding against me. hahaha We are leaving town for a few days to be at our grandson's graduation. So I'll catch up with you when we get back. xx

    1. This auction was a little different than our typical ones....low attendance and things went super cheap. Must have been the beautiful weather on a Friday...people needing to work in their yards and sellers already at their flea markets. Good for me, though! haha. I haven't looked up that Calumet tin yet....wasn't expecting to buy it so didn't research it. They were practically begging for a bidder. lol....

Have fun at the graduation! Praying for your grandson! Hope it's a wonderful time!

  11. Wow, that is an incredibly cool piece! Never seen one like it, and I've seen a lot of collectibles in my time.

The only thing that would have made it even more cool was if the boys' names had been written on it. Ha.

  15. Love it! I have 3 retro 50's diner type chairs, but no where in this house that they fit in with the colour scheme, so I'm going to sell them on ebay.
