Winter Love

While almost everyone else is wishing away this season,
longing for spring, I'm hoping for a little more winter!
I haven't had my fill of ice and snowflakes!
Sweaters and woolly socks...
Boots and mittens...
Hot baths and extra hand lotion...
Comfort food and hot chocolate...
Sepia landscapes and suet filled feeders...
Dark cozy evenings and extra quilts...
And I could go on and on!

Anyone else with me?

  1. Sounds romantic but the realization of being very cold and damp doesn't appeal to me.
I like the feeling of cozy but my gas and electric bill say nope.
    Sorry for the downer...
I do love your setting with the solitary earring picture and the white bird, that definitely is a unique masterpiece.

    1. You don't have to be cold and damp....dress appropriately and stay inside. haha. Besides, you live in Cali...what do you know about a proper winter? lol. :)

  2. Well, I'm not ready for winter to be over quite yet......but in about 4 weeks I will be. When the end of January comes I start counting weeks.

    1. You and I live where there are four proper seasons. :) It seems crazy to wish winter away..it's just as beautiful...maybe more so than, say, summer! haha. I start to get spring fever in early April..but there's still a chance of snow then!

  4. All I can say is. . . ! ! !

Perhaps you should move to the Mother Country, where we get 11 months of winter a year, then you can wear woolies and your pink wellies most of the time. Ha!

  7. This guy invades the comments sections of blog after blog. He seems to think his own experiences are the same as everyone else's.

  8. We have had no winter to speak of and I really miss it. Maybe there's still a chance.
I love your wintry list and the sweet tableau.

    1. Exactly. Only one really proper snow and it didn't last long enough!
I bet we get more, though...it's only February!

    1. So true...we haven't had nearly enough snow days! And for us to have a snow day, it has to be really, really bad. We had a wind chill day and that's it!

  10. You make winter sound much more appealing! But I'm still ready for Spring. :)

    1. haha....everyone has forgotten that winter is charming, beautiful and all around wonderful!
I hate to see everyone just long for it to go away. I'd take winter over summer any day! haha.
      I'm in the minority, I know! :)

  11. I'd delete your rant, but the replies are just too priceless! So, I'll just say that you don't know me. I'm not fat, I'm a great cook, I can clean and I have four kids. I'm intelligent, responsible and not disgusting at all. I'm a business owner, independent and have probably worked in more dangerous situations than you ever will. So get the hell off my blog!

  12. This poor excuse for a man has posted the same thing on numerous ladies blogs, If you report him to Blogger.com maybe they can do something. He's even given you a link to his blog page!

  13. Yes, I've seen his posts for years and years. Obviously, he hasn't found his lovely international woman or he'd be living the good life with her and not still posting this.

If you are still reading you poor mistaken man let me tell you that this lady is non of the things you accuse her. I can say there is no lady on Earth who is the complete opposite of what you say. We all love her . .

  18. No I'm not with you but I do appreciate your positive, embracing attitude.

We live in Texas where - thank goodness- we don't get much winter. :)

  24. I'm famous in my family for saying about the middle of March that I want just one more snow. I love baseball but am a winter person. Figure that one out, lol.

I do admit that I don't like the bitter cold temps. Right before Christmas we had a weekend of -9 for lows and only 3 for daytime highs. Thankfully that only happens a few times each winter here in north central Missouri.

  25. Not really a fan of winter - too dark and we don't get much snow here anyway. But you make it sound lovely so I'll take your version.

  26. Yes, I agree 100%. Love to be cozy, settled in my home; it makes me feel so good!
