I guess I never realized that Monet had painted a winter scene. I think I now remember seeing some landscapes of snow but that one is very white. I visited your Etsy shop and you have some wonderful things for sail. Once I am in our newer house you may be seeing me making a few buys. I see you have one of the Currier and Ives plates, which I am not collecting, I can't start any more collections.
Our rain today is supposed to turn colder and into ice or snow in a day or two. I'd much rather have snow that freezing rain, though! Nobody likes freezing rain!
We are forecast to have some snow tomorrow evening through Thursday. We have had such a mild winter thus far that it is rather welcome! Thank you for stopping by my blog today, Betsy...and for the "follow". The picture in my header was actually taken in the southern part of WV when we road the train at Cass WV. I'm going to pop in at your shop now. :)
Hi, again. :) That train ride sounds really fun. I have some boys that love trains. Thanks for visiting my shop....it's a fun little hobby for me combined with going to auctions. :)
So glad you are enjoying it, Betsy!! BEAUTIFUL painting. It is 75 degrees as I am typing this... I love the warm, too. ;) We must savor what we have. blessings ~ tanna
Beautiful painting! And you'll hear no hate speech from me. I'm not ready for warm weather, yet, but that's what we got. It was in the 70's today. I've had the doors open, that leads to the porch, all day. I sure hope we have some colder weather again soon.
Oh boy, it's so tempting. But I learned my lesson last year. I did sow some onion and cabbage seeds indoors today, though. It will be awhile before they come up and will be ready to transplant outdoors. I'm so excited about it! Eeeek!!
You know how I feel about Winter :) It's currently 51 here and even though it was cloudy and windy earlier, it was still a nice day to be outside. I studied Monet in Art School ... what an unbelievable artist.
Oh, that's gorgeous! What a wonderful scene. I am still hoping for wintry days. Today is freezing rain. So treacherous but so beautiful. Creates crystals and prisms everywhere!
Hi Betsy - fascinating and co-incidences ... I've seen Monet's 'The Magpie' twice within 24 hours and now you're posting this 'Snow Near Honfleur' painting for us ... wonderful .. but I am glad it's now snowing here! Cheers Hilary
It's beautiful. So simple and calming. I hope you will feel better soon, all of you! And I agree with you 'life is complicated' ... sigh. Full moon in 2 days, I get so affected by it and it is rarely a good feeling. Happy day anyway! :-)
The boys seem so much better today. Lots of Vitamin C, fluids, and rest. It's me that is dragging around with a sore throat. haha. Oh well, better me than them.
The full moon Friday is the Snow Moon! It's not supposed to be clear enough here to see it, though. I hope it doesn't bother you too much!
That's exactly what it looks like out our window.
ReplyDeleteOh, lucky you! Send some down here!

ReplyDeleteGosh another liking snow . . . haha
DeleteWe just want the best of each season....winter included! :)
DeleteLovely...I love landscape paintings...
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your evening...
Cheers!
Linda :o)
It would be fun to have a beautiful one of each season to switch out, wouldn't it?
DeleteI'll have to keep that in mind when at the auctions.
No snow our way.....but heck it's still early :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful painting by the master..
~Jo
Isn't it beautiful? New to me, too!

ReplyDeleteMarla
It's been in the 50's here the last two days but I hear snow is coming.
DeleteHaven't heard if there will be any accumulation, though.
I'm ready for it to be done, but that is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI think you've had more snow than us....I need another big storm with a few feet that lasts a few weeks. ha.
DeleteIs that really a Monet? So suitable!
ReplyDeleteYes, it really is!
DeleteOh, that's gorgeous! What a wonderful scene.
ReplyDeleteI am still hoping for wintry days.
Today is freezing rain. So treacherous but so beautiful. Creates crystals and prisms everywhere!
I think we're getting that freezing rain soon. It's fine if you don't have to go anywhere! ha.

ReplyDeleteWell, how fun is that! :)
DeleteNo complaints from me. I love winter too. We're expecting some snow tomorrow. It always seems to snow for Valentines' Day around these parts.
ReplyDeleteYes, I think you're right...we have lots of Valentine's Days that are filled with snow or ice!
