You Rang?

I got a fun Christmas gift!
It was a Ring Door Bell.  I kept seeing the
commercials for them and thought it would be
a great way to keep an eye on my etsy packages that
I put out on my porch every day to be picked up.
So, I asked Santa and he actually put one under the tree. :)

I'm alerted on my cell phone whenever there is any
movement on the front porch, whether they ring the
door bell or simply leave a package.  I can swipe my phone
and see live what is happening whether I'm at home or not!
And I can talk to anyone there, if I want to.

Here you can see my UPS man making a delivery while
my boxes to go out are waiting for the USPS man.  The camera
has a wide span...you can even see his truck out on the street!

Kinda fun, but nice for security reasons, too!

  1. I've seen ads for this through my phone company. I think if I lived in a house I would get it, too. Bit more secure.
I bet they'd jump if you spoke to them! :-)

  2. You can even see the phantom milkman when he leaves the days milk on the doorstep then? (private joke. Ha!)

  3. I think this is a great invention.
How do you stop people from taking the unit off the door, if they are naughtily inclined ?
The more security the better I say :)

    1. It's bolted onto the side of your house...and wired into your current door bell!
And if someone tried to take it, you'd have them on camera! And you could yell at them, too! haha.

  6. How fun ~ I would be tempted to have great fun with it though . . Even a loud "Good morning . . and what a lovely day! and thank you . . . would be fun". They would wonder where the voice is coming from . . . lol

  7. Great Christmas gift! I really like ours. I have used it when we aren't home to answer the door. It works from anywhere to talk to the person ringing the doorbell. I have also answered the door when I'm at home and can tell it's someone selling something and don't want to actually open the door. I even got a video of a giant furry spider walking across the camera. Creepy!

  11. That is a great idea. I saw the commercials too and since I do not have a peephole on my front door, it would be good for keeping tabs on who is ringing my bell.

  13. This is a great idea! =) I have seen the commercials also -- and I thought it would be a good way to see what is happening on my porch. I dont have a doorbell ( yet ) but this is a great reason to get one installed!
