Happy Halloween!

Halloween isn't such a big deal here now that all of our boys
are grown.  No deciding costumes, school parties or walking through
the neighborhood with buckets on Beggar's Night (constantly doing
a head count as to not loose one of my little munchkins). haha.

We did have trick-or-treat Saturday night and it was fun
to see all the little ones come by.  A much smaller crowd
than a decade ago! Good thing I bought candy that we
like to eat!  I'm trying to stay out of the miniature candy
bar jar but I can't keep away from the candy corn!

I'm the only one that eats candy corn here and the jar was full
a couple of weeks ago!  I'm actually proud of myself
for not finishing it off in one day. :)  And contrary to what
some think, candy corn is made with real honey
and does have an have expiration date on the bag!
At least Brach's brand does.  And did you know that if you
eat it with peanuts, it tastes just like a Payday candy bar?
Yes, try it, and you will thank me!

  1. You people in the Colonies do eat some strange food. Happy Halloween, or Samhain if you prefer the real name! Ha!

    1. Candy last longer around here than it used to. My oldest son has the sweet tooth and he's gone. The triplets don't eat any of it! They don't know what they're missing!

  3. thats such a beautiful happy display,, candy corn is impossible to find here and our grand daughter Gracie was so upset all week because she watched a youtube video showing that Halloween was a time for candy corn and we couldn't find it anywhere,, she has never eaten it but she becomes quite obsessed with things. We finally explained to her its not sold here,, long conversation at the end she said Yes Nana I understand but you'll get it next year won't you , lol,, so I will certainly be buying it online next year lol, she never forgets.. I wonder why we don't have it here, ( Canada , Northern Ontario ) it seems so prominent in everything Halloween, Happy Halloween to you!!

    1. Oh yes, you'll have to order it online. But only get Brachs...the no-name kinds are yucky and don't taste like the real thing at all!

  5. Your candy corn decor looks good. The little black hat is cute as can be. I've never really cared for candy corn, but I never knew it was made with honey, either. I might try it again.

    2. Found Brachs on sale today at the grocery store. So I bought a bag and have to say, they are really good.....to the point that they might become addictive. Oh and by the way, I can not make my broom stand up by itself. Lol!! Obviously, you have a gift.

  6. That is a cute little kitty witch! We don't get any trick or treaters here on our quiet country road...
Bob picked up a bag of candy corn, but so far I've shown restraint and not eaten any. Of course, if it was in a bowl in the living room I wouldn't be able to resist!

    1. Yes, that is true...anything in a jar in front of the couch is just going to invite you to dig in! haha...

  7. I never tasted candy corn until I came to Tennessee, and I like it. When I was a young girl in England, Halloween was not a big affair, we didn't even have pumpkins, instead we carved out a turnip, or rutabaga as it's called here, and a piece of string for the handle, and we carried them around like little lanterns.
    Have a great Halloween !

    1. Happy, happy! Hope it's a fun day. Do the twins have any costume parties? Seems like Halloween has become an adult kind of celebration day just as much as for the little ones!

  12. I thought I was the only adult that loved candy corn. It's the first candy I buy for my grands' Halloween sacks and it smells so good too! We had our carnival Saturday and never get any kids out here in the country, so thank goodness I don't still have a bunch of candy sitting around!

  13. I'd much rather have my candy corn up straight :-). I'm the on,y one in the house who likes it, so I only buy single serving bags-otherwise I'd eat way too much!

  16. I like Candy Corn but a kernel or two satisfies me until I see it next year. We closed the drapes so as to not attract trick or treaters. They do not come up to the house here in town unless the outside lights are on.

    1. What??? I thought you said on FB you didn't have any and had a bunch of candy left. So you did that on purpose? hahaha.... Well, enjoy all that candy! I can't believe you can eat just one candy corn. I could ...and do...eat the whole bag!
