So, how do you eat your sweet corn?
Do you roll the ear away from you, making clean vertical rings?
Or do you bite it, moving it horizontally across your mouth like a
typewriter? haha. OR...are you so OCD that you can't stand the
pieces stuck in your teeth and you have to cut it off the cob?
Maybe your dentures make you do that, too.
I guess I'm a typewriter style kind of girl.
Yum.
♥
I can't stand sweetcorn anyway! Groo!
ReplyDeleteunless it is in the form of Kellogs Corn Flakes.
DeleteDo you have sweet corn over there? I didn't know you had room for corn fields!
DeleteYup, I think I'm a typewriter girl myself.
ReplyDeleteLove fresh sweet corn, boy, I would sure like some now.
It's the best thing about summer, next to garden tomatoes! :)
Deletelol when I ate it was ocd at my sea
ReplyDeleteStuck in my teeth was not a fun way to be
Picked it off and on a plate
Much better with no food in teeth as a trait.
I admit to flossing my teeth
Deleteright after I eat. haha.
I eat mine in vertical rings. I start at one and when that ring is done, I go to the other end and then finish in the middle. Yum! Love it! And then I have to go for the floss. Lol!
ReplyDeleteI've eaten it like that before...when I was young, I'd create little 'handles' on each end, then eat the middle. lol....
DeleteExactly! HaHa!
DeleteBite and rotate it clockwise, working down from the top ~ yum . . . now you see it, now you don't . . lol
ReplyDeleteWe call it "corn on the cob" . . . and we probably import most of it . . . that's why our balance of payments is so bad . . . :)
We call it that, too, sometimes. Yum. :) It's good no matter how you eat it!
DeleteIt sure doesn't last long does it? That's why I am a big healthy boy . . . hahaha
DeleteVeggies don't make you big, dear. lol...
Deletelol . . . just nice . . . haha!
DeleteI'll leave it to steaks to make me big . . .
Have a lovely day . . . I've been cleaning the bathroom and I am just off to The Rectory to have a bonfire and do a lot of clearing . . . :)
To me it's not corn on the cob if you cut it off the cob, though I understand that people with dentures need to do that. I'm definitely a "typewriter" eater.
ReplyDeleteYep, me too! And I agree...biting it is the best!
DeleteKinda like fried chicken or a hamburger...you can't use a fork! It won't taste the same!
DeleteAs you probably guessed already, I'm a "typewriter" kind of guy! Slinging it all over the place, hot melted butter dripping from ear to ear. YUM!! LOL
ReplyDeleteAnd how would I have guessed that? hahaha But you're right, I did! Now, do all Old Country boys eat it that way? I do agree with the butter....have to have it! yum!
DeleteI join the 'typewriter style' ranks! Only with a bit of salt sprinkled on the cob.
ReplyDeleteIt is a neat and orderly way to eat it, don't you think? :)
DeleteHi Betsy - I was a typewriter style ... but now I cut it off and gently simmer it in butter, or just add to a casserole or the salmon I'm steaming or lightly frying ... so good - and it's around and I'm enjoying it ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteIt's delicious any way you eat it! I do have a few salads that I cut it off and add to them...so good!
DeleteLike a typewriter, but I'm a little ocd because I eat it with a toothpick handy. :)
ReplyDeleteYep...me, too...and I usually floss right after. :)
DeleteI hate to confess but I kind of eat corn willy nilly. I chase the melted butter around! I don't eat much butter anymore but do on corn so I enjoy it all. The corn has been pretty good this year.
ReplyDeletehaha...oh, you make me laugh! It's more of an adventure that way, I guess...searching for the last bites! you didn't get! :)
DeletePicked up a bagful from a Farmers Market, on the way home form the cottage today!
ReplyDeleteGoing to have some with a grilled Pork tenderloin for dinner tonight!
Typewriter all the way...hahaha!
Enjoy your weekend Betsy!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Still in the high 90's here today!
We're having pulled pork sandwiches tonight. yum. Maybe we should have corn, too! :)
DeleteIt says BLT'S in your sidebar..... :o)
DeleteI'm a more vertical rings chomper, but I sometimes typewriter... all depends. Haven't had it yet this season, but I love it.
ReplyDeleteOh my, this is a topic of conversation! I can't believe it. There are others who think about this stuff too. LOL Last year I took a photo my 4 ears of corn that were eaten by myself, my hubby, my oldest grandson and the youngest grandson and there are 4 different styles of eating corn on the cob. I've never shown that photo to anyone publicly but it's funny to look at. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteAnother vote for typewriter style...
