Dinner Time

Daddy feeding his baby girl.
Daddy's looking a little haggard, isn't he?
Caring for little ones is exhausting...
and it's molting season.  Hang in there, dad!
Mom was there, too...just out of the frame.

  6. Moulting is so very difficult and painful! My daughter has had many birds, and the process is very sad!
How cute to catch them feeding the baby...who...as always...is bigger than the parents! hahaha!!
When do you leave for your trip???
    Cheers!

    1. I didn't know it was painful! Aw...I have parakeets. They don't act any different when they molt.
I just thought it was like furry animals shedding. I do have special seed for them when they molt. Poor things....

  7. this is so sweet. we were at the San Diego zoo a couple of weeks ago and the flamingo young'uns were getting fed in a similar fashion. They are a lot bigger but it is about the same process. So fun to watch. I am excited for your upcoming trip. I hope it is grand.

  11. I wondered why our male cardinal looked like it was getting white spots on him. I thought he had a fungus but maybe it's only molting. Nice catch and Gif.

    1. Yes, they are all looking a little worn. I love it when the winter feathers come in...all fresh and bright!
