I can feel the spray of cool rain. Yummy butternut squash... we will be seeing that soon I hope on a plate with one of your great squash recipes. Sending hugs.
Actually, it was a hot, muggy rain...haha...the air was so heavy and hot..miserable! Today looks better...and the sun is shining! I'm looking forward to the squash, too! Yum!
I do agree! A few years ago we had the perfect summer. It wasn't overly hot and about twice a week we would have a rain shower in the night. I only watered the garden twice that season. It was strangely perfect. haha.
We had the biggest storm and rain last night, probably the biggest I have seen since we did live in Canada. It took me three attempts to get Montik to the garden for his night wee ... haha. I love storms though. The thunder, the lightning, the smell of the rain ... :-) happy weekend Betsy!
They are vintage glass insulators. They used to be on top of telephone and electric poles to insulate the power lines connections. Now they are just collectible things. And this is my bird bath! I just have the glass sitting in it to look pretty and it gives the birds something to rest on.
Very nice of the clouds to help you out!
ReplyDeleteMmmmm... butternut squash.
First time for butternut in my garden! I hope it does well!
DeleteLucky you! We've had the sky cloud up a couple of times, but no rain.
ReplyDeleteWe're nice and saturated now.....lol. Hope you get some rain soon!
DeleteClouds do all the hard work
ReplyDeleteIf they could mow too it would be a perk
Guess we'll just have to stick to rain
I let them wash the car at my lane lol
You could go out with your shampoo
Deleteand let it wash your 'do. haha.
Nothing like a good rain to water plants.
ReplyDeleteyes...so nice!..and saved me some time, too!
DeleteB.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. One of my most favorite things to ever watch is rain hitting water....pond, lake, ocean, mud puddle or birdbath! Love them all.
ReplyDeleteMe, too! I stood and watched for a good long, time. And the sound of it..makes me sleepy.
DeleteSend it our way...
ReplyDeleteThe rain and the Butternut squash :)
Beautiful, cooling picture.

I think this front moved more east instead of straight south!

I love it when there is an overnight rain. It seems to me, that's the way it should be.

ReplyDeleteToo bad we can't just send some to you! Always the same predicament, isn't it?
DeleteWhat are those green glass thingies on your garden table? I've been meaning to ask for ages.

DeleteOh OK. I think in this country they were all white ceramic.
DeleteThanks!
I like summer rainstorms - such huge drops. We're having a few too.
ReplyDeleteNothing like rainwater. I can hear all the plants saying, "Yummie!"
ReplyDeleteI love your birdbath! That's a great photo.
