Garden Helpers

When I go out to water the garden in the morning the
back yard is quiet and peaceful.

Sleepy, furry helpers come out of their shady sleeping spots.

They say hello, drink from the bird bath as I fill it up,
and get a belly scratch while I'm out there!
But their favorite thing is to attack the big long snake (hose)
while I'm watering everything!

Some of them are very serious about protecting the garden.

Very serious!

    1. Yes, I do! No critters allowed. Well, I think they are friends with the fox brothers, though. haha.

I so wish I had a furry entourage... and a garden, too!

    1. They really are! Of course many of them are siblings, so that helps a lot.
But I've always been surprised how sweet they are to each other. (most of the time! ha)

    1. I haven't seen any on roof top surveillance in a while. They must feel the need is
      greater on the ground. haha.

    1. Everything has grown and has buds...except for my spaghetti squash. hmmm...I've tried 3 times to plant seeds! Might have to forget that one! I couldn't find it as a planting.

  7. :) Having them in the garden would double my garden time. Water this...pet a cat...water that...pet a cat. :)They are all so gorgeous. And wow...look at the tomatoes.

    1. Yeah, it does slow me down a little, but my garden is so tiny that it doesn't matter. They certainly make it more fun! My favorite part is how they come out of the shadow, blinking at the bright sun and chatting away. :)

  8. haha no one is getting in
With those guards at your bin
The big long hose may win though
As the water starts to flow

    1. They come running to get the 'snake'.
It's so scary it makes them shake!
      But they find it curious
      and maybe furious
as they hear the water rush inside
while they listen on the outside!

  9. I always like seeing your cats. Daughter in law is very allergic to cats so we didn't get another after we lost the one we had. Her allergy shuts her lungs down so it isn't hard for us to meet the problem. It is just that we love cats. We feed the neighbor's strays and pet them outside. I like how the cats of yours all come out to watch you work.

    1. Too bad about the allergies! Sounds awful! I always get a kick out of ours here and the shenanigans
they get into! They've added a lot of richness to our lives...so fun!

    1. Oh, how fun! We don't have lizards up here in Ohio but I know my cats would be all over them! :)

  11. Haha! They sure are good working team :-) everything is so green and tall, wow! However no matter how hard I look I do not see that cherry tomato yet (I had my vision checked in Autumn it was 10/10 ... did they make a mistake?! Lol) ... I do see yellow flowers on the bush though ... :-) happy gardening with your cat crew :-)

    1. We had all that rain and then I've been watering every day just so everything keeps growning! Oh, there aren't any cherry tomatoes yet...just blossoms. I was just referring to the plant itself. Soon those yellow blossoms will be tomatoes, though...can't wait!
