A clean kitchen sink. Not just rinsed out but actually
bleached, scrubbed, glowing and empty. It's rare occurance
is something to celebrate. It's something to admire
...just like when you see the bottom of the
laundry hamper. haha.
♥
It seems that even with just the two of us there is never a bottom to the laundry hamper.
ReplyDeleteI just did that to my kitchen sink too.
It made me feel like everything was right with the world.
That is so true! I've admired it all afternoon....almost time to make dinner so it will only be
Deletea memory! haha.
. . . and all ready to mess up again . . haha
ReplyDeleteGreat that you keep on top of it all so well . . :)
Yep..I'm about to empty the boys' lunch boxes...it will be full again! haha.
DeleteIt's called the "Second Law of Thermodynamics" ~ things run down and chaos comes out of order until work and intelligence reverse things again . . . I read that the whole Universe is slowly running down but an fantastic amount of order still is there . . . and of course 'someone' must have put that order there in the first place . . . . :)
DeleteI know more order must be restored at my place . . . haha
btw . . .like your new instagram piccies and the one of you . . :)
Aw, thanks, Ed. :)
DeleteWhat am I saying? The two of you ~ you seem to grow a little younger by the day . . . :)
DeleteWell, I like that! Hope it stops at about 25 though. haha.
DeleteI'd settle for 35 again . . . but knowing what I know now . . . hate to have to learn it all again . . . haha! . . :)
DeleteHow about the young body with the wise mind? I'd take that any day! lol.
DeleteOh yes . . . . glad you think I am wise . . . haha
DeleteI was talking about me! lol...
DeleteI suppose all the dirty dishes have been moved just out of shot? Go on, admit it. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat is the weirdest mixer tap I have ever seen.
DeleteYes, it is unusual. :)
DeleteI love that and the green plant completes the picture!
ReplyDeleteHe's there so I don't forget to water him! :)
DeleteOh Betsy...isn't that a great feeling. I had a mishap when I did my sick this week. I had on a new turquoise top that I really loved and walked in the kitchen to do something and notice the sink looks dingy. Without thinking and putting on an apron....I proceed to clean with clorex.....yep...some of the bleach water splashed some drops on my top...and before I could do anything...white spots... Clean sink....ruined top....My bad.... Now it's a work top..
ReplyDeleteNot only a clean sink, but love your little plant, and soap and is that a bird?? Funny I have a little green bird on my sink next to my hand soap.
Hugs.
Oh, I've done that before...more than once!
DeleteYes, it's a bird. Great minds... :)
The crowning glory to your beautiful sink is your faucet!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
DeleteI do love a clean kitchen sink. Yours is making me drool! HaHa!
ReplyDeleteThere is something about a clean one, isn't there?
DeleteIt makes you feel like the house is in order...or at least the kitchen. haha.
haha mine was always nice and clean
ReplyDeleteOnly used one plate at my scene
Not so here
Barely ever clear
How's your ocd holding up
Deletewith all those cats and a few pups?
Dishes galore in the sink
and many litter boxes that may just stink.
lol....
lol I lock us in a room
DeleteMy then ocd avoids such doom
You could always clean up
Deletefor all the cats and pups.
Show them how it's done
as your time there just begun.
Earn your board and keep.
They'll be speechless without a peep.
lol....
I hear 'ya!!
ReplyDeleteI have stainless steel here at home...always looks hideous!
I am having my farm sink at the cottage refinished this Spring...so happy about that!
Enjoy your dinner!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Oooh..it will look just like new! How very fun!
DeleteSparkling!
ReplyDeleteDo you know FlyLady? She always talks about a clean kitchen sink being the first step to conquering clutter. Sometimes it's my ONLY step. But hey... it's a step!
I do know FlyLady! She has some good, inspiring ideas and a huge following. Her schedules didn't jive with my life here, though...I tried to follow her a few times. But I do like her philosophy!
DeleteIt looks very nice!! I was never allowed to do the dishes or load the dishwasher because getting too hot always brought on my seizures. But I love to do laundry - not sure why, but I do. lol.
ReplyDeletep.s. it's storming really bad here right now - hope it's not headed your way!
Marla
I enjoy doing the laundry, too! It's the chore I always start with! I drag my feet on the bathrooms the most. haha. We're supposed to get rain tomorrow so I'm sure it's on it's way from you! It's already very cloudy!
DeleteOh yes, the dreaded bathrooms. I agree! These storms weren't supposed to arrive until tomorrow but they're already here, and I either just heard really big raindrops or hail!
DeleteHail? Well, we need the rain...but you can keep any hail!
Deletethe birds killed me!!! Thank-you God !
ReplyDeleteBirds? In the header?
Deleteyep , the header.
DeleteAren't they cute? :)
DeleteHaving a clean and empty sink makes a person feel so good! And you're right - it doesn't last. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the way you have your soap and lotion (?) in that tray with a cute little bird!
yes..soap and lotion! :)
DeleteI like things cleaned....especially windows, I dislike looking through a dirty window.
ReplyDeleteYour sink looks sparkling and love the faucet.
~Jo
My windows are AWFUL right now...I didn't clean them last year at all. Ugh.
DeleteCan't wait to get to them this spring!
The best! Did you see that meme floating around this week of the mom giving that look when someone in the family is bringing another dish after the sink is clean? You know...the death look. :)
ReplyDeleteHaha...no, I didn't see that! But I can relate completely! :)
DeleteEven if the rest of the house is spotless, if there are dishes in the sink and a single (but mildly overflowing) laundry basket it feels like the whole house is a mess!
ReplyDeleteThe kitchen sink...it's like the throne of the house! Lol....
DeleteLittle things are the most important things in life... and seeing a wonderful sink like yours can make the difference when you come back home after a working day!
ReplyDeleteYes, that is so true...I do love my sink. And you look like you're having fun with some kitchen updates, too!
DeleteOh yes, I had a lot of fun... I spent my Easter long weekend working hard but it has been worth it
DeleteIt is fun, isn't it? It's amazing what a little change will do for a room!
DeleteHouse work is a never ending chore.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is.....thankfully, I enjoy most of it!
DeleteDish washing is a never ending chore around here because I do it by hand, but let me get to the bottom of the laundry ironing basket and I am Queen Domestic Engineer for the day!! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I agreee...that is a wonderful feeling!
DeleteHow true!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely!
DeleteHi Betsy - yes .. just sometimes cleaning up makes a world of difference ... your white sinks look so good ... finishing anything off is good news! Cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteHaving things orderly reduces my stress....it feels like I'm in control of at least something! haha.
DeleteLol I agree!! Saturdays I bleach the sink and it always makes me smile. :)
ReplyDeleteSo true, isn't it? haha.
Deletei forget how pretty a clean white sink can look especially with a plant nearby. Beautiful photo. I have stainless steel which I actually don't care for much and a black refrigerator and stove - never again - the fingerprints and streaks on them show up constantly and are impossible to keep clean.
ReplyDeleteI see the pros and cons of stainless and porcelain. I had porcelain before and swore I wouldn't do it again...so hard to keep clean! But I caved at this sink. It has a coating on it that repeals stains so I think it will be much easier to keep clean. Still, that just washed look is the best!
DeleteI have a black stove! I know what you mean!
Mine is stainless steel but I love to see it sparkling. Every now and again I get the urge to shine it up.
ReplyDeleteYep...it just makes the whole kitchen look better~
DeleteIn my house an empty sink is a fleeting moment! lol Yours looks great!
ReplyDeleteSame here....rarely happens!
DeleteThat sink is awesome. Clean is too. I was told not to use bleach on my Kohler sink because it cuts the shine off the finish. I don't know if that is true but they have me buying their pricey cleaner. I probably am getting had though. For the past 3 days I have threatened to clean bathrooms. They have kept, maybe today.
ReplyDeleteI agree with that...I mistakenly used Soft Scrub with bleach on my old porcelain sink and it took off the finish. Then it was a sponge for any little stain or mark. I use clorox spray with bleach on this..just a quick spray and immediately wash it with a cloth and dish soap. It's worked well for over a year now.
DeleteGood luck with the bathrooms. lol....
Happy birthday to Lauren today! I hope there is some good cake involved.
ReplyDeleteYes...cupcakes! ...her favorite kind, along with her favorite shrimp scampi. yum. :)
DeleteI love your sink Betsy!!! Same here, rarely it is completely empty ... Happy birthday to Lauren! Wishing you all a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteWelcome home! :) My sink hasn't been the same since I took that picture. haha....
DeleteOoooo, cupcakes and shrimp scampi! Yum. Happy Birthday to dear Lauren. xx
ReplyDeleteI know! Yum.
