Hunting

This was amusing to watch!
The squirrel is not intimidated at all.   He even seems to
tease Jack and Shadow, taunting them by charging at them
and swishing his big fluffy tail!
There's no sneaking....both parties are quite up front about it all.

The cats don't have a chance....that squirrel just goes high into
the tree when they get too close and the branches are too small
to support those cats.  He seems to snicker and scamper off, leaving
them looking quite foolish.  He lets them get pretty close,
though, doesn't he?

  3. lol . . . what a tease he is . . . but I expect they like it . . :)
They look like a pride of little black lions stalking their prey . . . one almost imagines another to cut off the escape and ambush at the rear . . . . I've been watching a few lion documentaries lately . . . :)
    Great shots Betsy . . .

  4. Betsy: "Look out! They're behind you!"
    Cyril: "Oh not, they're not".
    Audience: "Oh yes, they are!"
    Cyril: "Oh no, they're not!"
Audience: "Oh yes, they're not!" Cyril, confused, runs up the tree, and all's well that ends well, goodnight children.

      can't compete with that!

  6. Oh my gosh, the cats got really close. You can see the determination on their faces. I was going to say that the squirrel must have been really hungry to let the cats get so close before reading that he taunts them. I would have definitely been entertained!

  10. Hi Betsy - I was about to say pack-hunting .. but perhaps bi-pack hunting is better! Wonderful shots, but as you say the squirrel is well ahead of the cat-pack ... cheers Hilary

    1. Well, later in the day there were four cats in that tree, so I think Pack-hunting is
      a good word for it!

  12. Great action shots. The squirrels in my garden do the same with my little dog. They are quick movers and my dog doesn't stand a chance of catching one,...but he tries time and again.:)
