Random Act Of Kindness Challenge 2016 #1

For the month of February, I'm joining in a
Random Act of Kindness Challenge, hosted by
the lovely Manu!  The idea is that you do something
kind for someone else....a stranger or someone you know.
It can be a gift of time, money or some kind of pay-it-forward.
Some of the best RAK's don't cost a thing....just look for
an opportunity to encourage someone else.
Then, each Friday post about it and link to her blog.
Hopefully by posting about it, we encourage each other
to think past ourselves and spread a little love.

Yesterday, I baked cookies to give away.
I made up a new recipe, Orange White Chocolate,
and they turned out very tasty!

I sent half  of them to work with The Mister and I took the
other have with me to an auction to pass out to people.

If you want to join in the challenge, click HERE

    1. Yes..very nice! I met Manu with my challenge last year...so fun that we've
kept in contact on our blogs...then it expanded to instagram and facebook!

The cookies were really good....just my chocolate chip dough with 1/2 cup
zest and white chips..and a splash of lemon extract. Yum. Very bright and
      citrus-y.

Just an empty plate on the lawn

    2. I was really hoping I could get through just one season of RAK's without someone saying that it was vain and that I was expecting a reward. Neither are true. I'm not going to go into a long explanation this year...you can go back to the previous two years to see how I explained that it is only to spread love and encourage others to do it, too. No rewards, no bragging.

    3. Sorry, I put my foot in it didn't I?

    4. Yes. And it's insulting to me that you would come to my blog and tell me I'm committing one of God's seven deadly sins by telling people how I made cookies for people.

    5. I said I'm sorry. It's obvious that we have conflicting views on the meaning of life, I won't make that mistake again I can assure you.

    7. No, but I felt as guilty as hell writing about it.

    1. See..it really is the little things, isn't it? So much anger and horrible things happening in this world. A little kindness can go a long way!

Yes, that orange zest packed a punch. I put a lot in them and I loved the results....very bright!

  10. Hi Betsy!
Oh those cookies do look so delicious - Such a lovely gift to give them away! People must have been happily surprised - both at your husband's work, and them that were lucky to meet you as you were giving them out. Orange zest must give a lovely taste ... I feel like baking already!
Wishing you & your family a joyful weekend,
    Nina
