Since The Mister loves chocolate and
he also loves bacon, I thought this fancy dark
chocolate bar with bacon in it would be a fun thing to get him.
We sampled it the other day.
It wasn't really as tasty as you might think.
It was more like bits of smokey charcoal stirred into the
chocolate than it was a true bacon taste.
But it wasn't a total loss.
The packaging ended up being most entertaining!
Some beautiful woman named Katrina created it
and she gave quite a lengthy history of herself
and the story behind her chocolate on the back of the bar.
I have to say, though, that if she really thinks Aunt Jemima
Syrup and maple syrup are one and the same, Le Cordon
Beau in Paris might not have let her graduate!
But the best part was the paragraph that actually told you
how to properly eat the chocolate, engaging all five senses,
feeling, rubbing, and even lusting as a tiny bite
melts on your tongue.
This was just perfect for The Mister, as
I always tease him about his love for chocolate
and the 'need' to have some every day.
I've even mentioned that if it's dark chocolate
ice cream, he looks like he's making out with it
rather than simply eating it. hahaha.
I guess Katrina and The Mister share a passion.
♥
That appeals to my sense of humour.
ReplyDeleteShe sounds very passionate and if that is what she says about foreplay with chocolate then it simply makes the mind boggle . . . hahaha!
Shame it did not taste nice . . . .
Maybe we didn't do the instructions very well. hahaha....
DeleteWow she has a lot to say for herself doesn't she? I'd like to try that chocolate even if only for the Mendelssohn value.
ReplyDeleteWhat is aunt Jemima syrup?
It is a bottled pancake syrup. Artificial everything and tastes awful, in my opinion. :)
DeleteThanks. Funny how people so often feed their children artificial fake food and keep the real stuff for themselves.
DeleteJust noticed the iPad changed what ?I wrote before from "madness" to Mendolssohn" !!! You must really have wondered what I was on about.
I did wonder! haha...wow, your iPad is very sophisticated! hahaha....
DeleteI wish it wouldn't do that! Sometimes I feel fit to throw it out of the window. It changes words even after I have clicked save. Not fair!
DeleteOh, and I quite forgot: on Friday I was at Fortnum & Mason with Noble Friend (on our way to a sensational exhibition at the Royal Academy) and we saw chocolate covered roses. Not to eat. To put in a vase. Bonkers or what?
BTW you made another VERY GENEROUS offer recently and I would love to say yes please. Especially if you are shopping in Kroger. The Chef & I are driving down through France on Thursday week so I will see what postable goodies I can find to send you in return. Plus, they have a great selection of yummy chocolate in Switzerland.
DeleteChocolate covered roses? Goodness....
DeleteOK....another chip swap sounds good! I'll have to try to find some smaller bags for you. The small ones here are mainly for kid's lunches to send to school, so they are just the basic, classic flavors...nothing unusual to try! But I'll look for some fun things to try at kroger...I'm there every week!
During the German Christmas Market here in the Distillery District there is a booth that sells chocolate-covered bacon. I have never tried it, but there is always a huge line-up and people seem to enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteI love chocolate and I love bacon - and I understand the salty sweet craving - but have yet to sample. Maybe next year.
I do love her sensual description as I think chocolate is very... stimulating! :-)
I think chocolate covered bacon would be really good. I should just make some of that!
DeleteOooo, yes! You will have to let us know how it turns out.
DeleteI bet it would be delish...thick cut bacon and pure dark chocolate. Yum.
DeleteNeed to put bacon on my shopping list. Sounds like something Taylor and Lauren
would want to try, too. Will try it one night they are coming for dinner. :)
Apparently, I've been eating chocolate all wrong all this time.
ReplyDeleteYou and me, both! I tend to scarf it down and reach for another piece! lol....
Delete*****SMILING*****
ReplyDeleteWhen ever I see, read or smell chocolate, I crave it! This time is no exception.
I appreciate your love for The Mister and his chocolate.
He does love his chocolate, that is for sure!
Deletelmao the cat could have fun with that
ReplyDeleteSounds like Porno chocolate came up to bat
Or at least Pg 14 and such
Too bad it didn't have the magical touch
Odd combination too
And a chocolate bar with so much crap written on it I never did view
Author of her own bar
Even if it tastes like tar
Porno chocolate for sure
Deletewith it's instruction label lure.
Too bad it fell flat
as we all know you can't have that.
lol.
Ha!
Deletelol couldn't rise to the occasion
DeleteNot even with such persuasion
One taste and it was a no-go.
DeleteNothing there to make the interest grow.
Lol! Sounds like the makings of a romance novel.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly does!
DeleteYIKES, that lable alone would make you take a cold shower. Yes, you totally succeeded in making me laugh. And hope the Mister enjoyed the ride too. HaHaHaHa.
ReplyDeleteI think he greatly disappointed it didn't taste good!
DeleteHe takes his chocolate very seriously. haha.
Oh, now that's funny!! Not the bad tasting concoction, but the labeling on the back. LOL... priceless!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it? Certainly had a good laugh reading it!
DeleteVery funny post....
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Linda :o)
Now if it only tasted yummy! ha.
DeleteThat is too funny! If I saw it near me, I'd pick one up for Bob. :)
ReplyDeleteI think I might just make him some chocolate dipped bacon. I
Deletebet that would be a lot better.
That's ridiculous, but I know someone named Betsy that would excel making this!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it? Good grief. Makes me want to look for other favors in her line and read the instructions on them! Lol.
DeleteLOL ... now this is really excellent!! Personally when I hear bacon I would rather hide but I hear on chocolate (sadly for me as I am intolerant to it). Had to lol imagining how I am rubbing my finger against the chocolate ... it melts in a room temperature ... maybe you are supposed to suck your fingers afterwords ... anyway ... haha ...
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing.....she just wants us to lick our fingers! Haha.
DeleteHi Betsy, I saw your comment on my IG. I love the teapot and the mug so much! I went to the tea shop/room on Saturday morning and I just made myself a gift :-) I bought the set and during this rainy, monsoon rain really, weekend it has made my days :-) It is from a Danish designer 'greengate' .... here is the link .... www.greengate.dk ... you have store finder on their webside so you can check it out ... and the price was really nice too!
DeleteIt's really pretty..love everything about it. I just put a little lidded jar in my etsy shop that looks very much like it!
DeleteWhat a very nice gift for yourself! You will enjoy it so much!
Hi Betsy - this is not a combination on my list! However the Mister has his card marked with the dusky lady from gay Paris. Some wonderful comments here ... I shall quietly refrain and pass on - now where's my bacon for supper?! Cheers .. and what fun ... Hilary
ReplyDeletethe comments could melt the chocolate! hahaha....
DeleteThat is some serious chocolate advertising. Too bad it didn't live up to the hype.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many people read all those directions before eating the candy?
Not many, I'm thinking....we didn't until we'd already tasted it! I still didn't read
Deletethe whole thing! Who has time for that? haha.
I'll have to look for this the next time I go to the store.
ReplyDeleteWell, I hope you like it better than we did!
DeleteShe's enjoying herself far too much...
