- Grilled flat iron steak and steamed garlicky broccoli.
- A 'throw everything in a skillet' meal. Teriyaki chicken, red skinned potatoes, yams, bell peppers, onions, garlic and frozen peas.
- Crab cakes and waldorf slaw.
- Another skillet meal. Zucchini, cherry tomatoes, tri-color peppers, onions, garlic, ham, Italian seasoning and parmesan.
- Soup and salad.
- Sauteed potatoes, peppers, onions, mushrooms, garlic and spinach. Topped with an over-easy egg.
Have you made anything tasty lately?
♥
Yum!! It all looks so delicious Betsy! It is late at night here and I feel like having some of those yummy foods :-) I did not do anything especially yummy over here as I am still blending the food for my little one, so trying to keep it simple ... I admire how you cook and how tasty it always looks. My little secret is 'I wish I had a cook' ... I cook fresh every day and I try to make it as healthy as possible but I really do not enjoy cooking .... :-( .... shhhhh
ReplyDeleteI would never have guessed you didn't enjoy cooking! You sure fooled me! The few things
DeleteI've seen that you're eating always look nutritious and delish! haha. Having a cook would be
wonderful, wouldn't it? Sometimes I wish I could just sit down and have a beautiful plate of
food presented to me. I tease the mister that this is what he gets every night...he doesn't
know how lucky he is! lol....I guess that's why we ladies love to go out to eat.
Your Mister is certainly very lucky!!! :-) you know I was not trying to fool anyone, I really do cook fresh and I really do not enjoy it that much ... lol .... I actually started to cook properly once my son was born ... I wanted for him to have a good home made meals :-) and I do it with love for him and all of us ... but if I could chose between a cook or any other household help I would take the cook!! .... haha ...
DeleteYes, I know what you mean....having children makes you pay attention!
DeleteMmmm this seems delicious! and gives me ideas for future meals! Thank you :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jens! Tonight is easy here...we're cleaning out the refrigerator!
DeleteIt's fun to see what and how others eat (live, etc.). I just love blogging!
ReplyDeleteBy the way folks, Betsy has some great recipes. I know cause I have used them!
I'm glad you can follow my very vague descriptions that I give instead of
Deleterecipes. haha. But that's how I cook...lol...
So true Christine! Isn't Betsy such an inspiration in every aspect of life really?! Night night ladies!
ReplyDeleteOh, you're sweet. Good night....'see' you tomorrow. :)
DeleteYes I have:) I made 'throw everything in' calzones. Some very delicious results!
ReplyDeleteThose sound delicious!
DeleteThe last one is one I make very often, but without the egg. Good idea, I'll try that next time.
ReplyDeleteMy version consists of sauteed potatoes, peppers, onions, mushrooms, garlic, celery and finely chopped bacon (kosher, of course!). I add a little Harissa paste as well just to make it sparkle! In the Mother Country, especially in Leicestershire that, and various versions of it, is referred to as 'Frumpy Mix'.
Frumpy Mix? OK...that made me laugh. What would you call it with the egg on top?
DeleteAnd is there such thing as Kosher bacon?
DeleteI think you would call it "A mess"!
DeleteA Jewish acquaintance told me he always enjoys a Kosher bacon sandwich when his family or the rabbi isn't around. So it must be kosher then!
Maybe it's cured beef instead of pork.
DeleteChicken and broccoli and spinach too
ReplyDeleteJust need some carrots and you have my zoo
There were carrots in the one
Deletebut I forgot to mention them among
the other veggies I stirred in
I know, it must be some kind of sin!
haha.
haha I thought they were
DeleteBut didn't know if it was another veggie with the carrot blur
HI Betsy...
ReplyDeleteYes...I have been cooking my little head off!! hahaha!
Yours all look very healthy and delicious...good girl!
Kudos to the chef!!
Enjoy your evening..
Cheers!
Linda :o)
I saw your new board on Pinterest for
Deletethe soups! They all look very tasty!
LOVE soup!!
DeleteIt all looks delicious to me!
ReplyDeleteNot bad, I must say.
DeleteAt least we're eating our veggies. ha.
Mouth-watering and so colourful! Boy, those look like tasty meals.
ReplyDeleteI have not really cooked anything lately as I have been fêted a lot so sometimes, to balance it all out, I just have cereal and yoghurt for dinner. Last night was some melted sharp cheddar on a toasted English muffin and a hard-boiled egg. I often have brekkie for dinner.
I love breakfast for dinner! One of my favorites. yum!
DeleteYour dishes are very colorful....and healthy looking. We had shrimp creole over rice.
ReplyDeleteOh wait, we love to have breakfast for dinner too. Grits and eggs with toast. Yummy comfort food.
DeleteYay for breakfast at dinner time. I do that once in a while....perfect comfort food!
DeleteI think I've only had grits once in my life.....
Your food looks like photos from a restaurant menu. I especially like that last one!
ReplyDeleteThat last one was really tasty....I think we'll have that again soon.
DeleteI was getting ready for bed and now I'm too hungry to sleep. Have to go find a snack. All your fault. ;)
ReplyDeletehaha....so...what did you munch on?
DeleteSo yummy!!! My husband puts and over easy egg on everything...including mac and cheese. bleh!
ReplyDeleteOh dear...I agree on the bleh!
DeleteHi Betsy - looks delicious and lunch is nearly with us - I'm pleased to say. I made a chicken for the soul hot pot last week - that was good ... and quite often use salmon with spinach ... I'll do a roast tomorrow night - but tend to cook what's around - as fresh as I can ... they all look so good! Cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteI'll have to look up what a 'hot pot' is. ...but chicken for the soul sure sounds good!
DeleteIt all looks delicious and highly nutritious!! . . .:)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! :)
DeleteSieht sehr lecker aus ...bin auf dem Weg zum Kühlschrank.
ReplyDeleteGruß
Noke
Thanks, Noke! Did you find anything good to eat there?
DeleteBetsy, I NEVER manage to make anything that looks half as tasty or healthy as your creations. You really have the knack of making a wonderful home in all ways. I often get inspiration from your photos and descriptions. I even own a little jar of poppy seeds now, for the first time in over 40 years of cooking!
ReplyDeleteWell, thank you! I appreciate that. I do love all things domestic. And how fun you bought poppy seeds...I think they make that slaw look pretty. :)
