Random Thoughts

  1. Sunglasses seem even more essential in the winter than the summer!  Sometimes I feel like I need them in the kitchen. ha. Rays beaming off the snow can be brutal!  It was sparkling like diamonds, though, and looking so beautiful earlier this week!  Now we're just grey and expecting snow showers tonight.  Are you in the path of the big snow storm?  Stay safe!
  2. If you are in the path of the big storm, I bet you've gone to the store and bought tons of milk and bread, right?  Or you procrastinated and the shelves were bare.  Hope you at least got some extra tp....because running out of that would be worse than not having milk! haha.
  3. If there's one thing I despise it's those chain letters or facebook posts that say you must like and share to prove you are a true friend.  Uh..no.  I don't do those.  Doesn't mean I'm not a friend, just that I think those things are stupid!  I got one letter recently that said if I sent it to 10 of my closest friends in the next 15 minutes, that I would get a special blessing from God.  lol.... Right. Sorry...yes, I'm being cynical.
  4. I can now do 80 jumping jacks without feeling like I'm going to faint. haha...
  5. Ever notice how the house suddenly feels cold the very moment the sun sets?
Happy weekend!
Stay warm!
Send me snow!

  1. It's always a great post if there's a picture of you. :)

Sounds like you're keeping up with that 10 minute workout routine. Do you hold weights when you're doing the jumping jacks? I've started to do a slimmed down version of that routine for now, and have my son do parts of it, too.

Looks like there's more snow out east than here in the midwest. Who'd have thought that you should to come to Chicago to get a break from winter storms?

    1. Gosh no...no weights with the jumping jacks! lol....and I can't get through the whole routine yet! The first half is fine but the last half I can't get through. But I can tell my stamina is improving, so we'll keep at it!

I'm a little disappointed we aren't going to get the 2 feet of snow! haha. And yes, Chicago usually had more than we do! We'd know how to survive it...those poor D.C. people are clueless!

    2. Personally I'm not sure about who can do that whole routine in 10 minutes... very challenging... so it's great that you're keeping it up. I guess I can wait until you've mastered all of it before you post the gifs. :)

Those D.C. folks won't know what to do. They should probably just stay inside until spring. Ha!

      Delete
    3. haha...no gifs! So, what are you doing for a slimmed down version? Just less reps of each thing?

      Delete
    4. Fewer reps and not doing all 10. Depends on the day, though. On weekends I have a bit more time and try to do more. I am using weights, though, for the jumping jacks, uppercuts and renegade rows.

    5. Wow..that's great! Some of the things are easy for me (running in place, toy soldiers) and others are killers. (russian twists). I'm certainly finding out where I'm in shape and where I am not!

  2. love the shades but they hide your lovely brown eyes . . . . :)
Congrats on the 80 Jumping Jacks.
    Agree about the chain letters.
I hear you are getting a monumental supply of snow . . . BBC says worst for a century.

    4. Not sure what happened there. Glad she has a stone base and she is still intact .. . :)
She should be a lot more stable now. Did you do it or The Mister?

The Mister did it, but I had to laugh...she's still slanting ever so slightly! He did it Saturday morning while I was still asleep....told him he needed me there to make sure she was straight!
haha...but she'll be ok on the stone and we'll straighten her up better when the weather is warmer.

      . . . and that just leaves the edging left to do . . . . haha

    8. Oh we talked about that in about 1485 when I helped Sue with her front garden lawn. It's like a thin corrode free metal edging about 4 inches high enclosing the lawn edging and separating it from the flower borders. The edging does not break away . . . you might remember you liked the idea. Everedge

    9. Yes, I remember us chatting about that...but I did put down edging...and a stone border, ....you must not remember. The cats use it as a sidewalk, since it's just their size. :)

  5. Hi Betsy. Nice sunglasses. I can imagine it would be blinding. I do not do those fb friend things either...I don't say Amen to everything, and I don't need fb to bless me. However, there are many things about fb I do love.

If you run out of tp, you better have some corn cobs or an old Sears and Robuck calalog. HaHaHa...I seen a few "outhouses" HaHa

btw that is such a cute shot of you.

  6. You look dazzling!
I know you love snow so I hope the storm veers your way, but hoping it doesn't do too much damage to those affected.
Don't get me started on the FB chain letters. Grrr... I refuse to do them. I have a couple friends who did a great take-off on them. I will e-mail it to you. Quite clever.
80? Wowee. Good for you! I'd be dead. :-)

  8. Well it surely is bright at your place. Love the shades and your scarf. Cute!

I went to the store today and bread and milk was on my list, but heck fire I didn't get TP! Lol!! I ran out one time on Christmas Eve. I was leaving for the airport to pick up my daughter and most stores were closed, so I did what any red blooded American would do....I took a couple of handfuls from the stall in the airport bathroom. I was desperate and I'm sorry. Lol!

    2. Oh Lord, no! I didn't take rolls, just a couple of handfuls that I pulled off the roll. LOL! I figured if I had an upset stomach that I would use that much anyway.... Just sayin!

  11. These 'do this do that, something will happen or not happen' are so ridiculous!! I always wonder who are these people making these stupidities up? ... haha. Before the internet era these were coming by regular post and you were supposed to copy them and send it to other people ... omg!! I never did. But I k now some of my friends took it pretty seriously :-) ...
Sunglasses are a must in the winter! so true. Our shed is painted in white and when there is snow or sun I cannot open it unless I have my sunglasses on, otherwise it feels like lasers to your eyes. Stay warm enjoy the snow. Ours is melting and temperatures rising ... sigh. I bought spring-ish plates today ... it just felt right ... haha!

  14. Hi Betsy, it's so nice to meet you. I came over from Mari's blog. I am with you on the FB posts where you have to prove your friendship by sharing. Sometimes it's a pain to go to FB and see all the junk that's on there but hey I love looking at the pictures friends put up. And yes sunglasses are definitely needed in the winter time especially if you live where snow is a constant companion. Here in our part of NC we don't keep snow on the ground but we are experiencing lots of right now with this snow system that's moving through. I am off now to browse your blog...Have a great day..
