David Bowie
1947 - 2016
I haven't added any new installations to my series
lately of famous people who love cats.
Today seemed appropriate upon learning of
David Bowie's passing yesterday.
I wonder if this was Major Tom...cat. :)

Lovely post of David and his Abby.
ReplyDeleteAbbys are beautiful cats, aren't they? And those ears!
DeleteMerry Christmas Mr. Lawrence
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing yes, Major Tom it is. Did you notice how they both seem to have the same expression on their faces?
ReplyDeleteI did notice that! Same expression! I did a post once on how often people look like their pets. Quite a funny post, actually.
DeleteVery appropriate and nice tribute .. . . great man, taken much too soon as many are.
ReplyDeleteLoved the quote too . . . .
His age seems younger all the time!
DeleteMy nephew is gutted . .
DeleteNice tribute. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely!
DeleteI was saddened to learn this, I liked his music, especially Major Tom ...
ReplyDeleteHe was very well thought of from his peers.
Lovely quote.

Deletetributes today.

ReplyDeleteWell, thank you Jens....nice to have you stop in and comment!
DeleteJust heard about David Bowie today. Such a shame. I enjoyed his work, no matter what stage he was going through!
ReplyDeleteyep...very talented!
DeleteThat is an extraordinary picture.. I didn't know much about his personal life or his love of cats. I also enjoyed something Suzanne put on fb about him.
ReplyDeleteYes, I saw that, too...very cool~
DeleteVery selfish the cat can do
ReplyDeleteOr at least he can pretend to lol
Dumb cancer takes a ton
Good tribute that was done.
Very true of you.
DeleteNone of us can influence, it's true.
March to your own drum.
As you rum a tum tum.
Great tribute!
ReplyDeleteThe background, his colouring, the cat's colouring, all combine in such a beautiful, vulnerable shot. Bowie was an incredible artist.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure none of those details were mere coincidence!
DeleteAbsolutely not. But it's not so overly composed that it hits you over the head.
DeleteVery nice Betsy...
ReplyDeleteI certainly danced my brains out to a lot of his music!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
ps...I meant The Gardeners Cottage, not that other frumpy one! hahahaha!
I meant The Gardeners Cottage, too! I don't know the other frumpy one! hahaha....
DeleteHahaha! Crying here!
Deleteso...what blog is the frumpy one? email me!
DeleteOH gosh...I forget! Came across it one time...the title had "thrifty" in it. So I clicked on it....hilarious! I am mean tonight!
DeleteIf I have time tomorrow...ill look...and email you! Hahaha!
ok...hope you remember! lol...
Deleteloved his music! :)
ReplyDeleteyes! I do agree!
DeleteThat's a great picture of David Bowie and his fur baby. I was really sad to hear about his passing this morning. There were so many of his songs that I loved, there's no way I can pick a favorite.
ReplyDeleteRIP David!
Wonderful Betsy - this is one photo we haven't seen else where. Such a sad loss ... but he made his end his own - incredible video and music ... Hilary
ReplyDeleteYes, that was kind of amazing, wasn't it?
DeleteEveryone was shocked when myself and another coworker didn't know who David Bowie was. Either, any victim of cancer is very sad. RIP
ReplyDeletewow...not even the movies? I thought his talent transcended the generations. ha.
DeleteSuch a showman to the end. Another part of my life story gone, I must be getting old!
