Slate sensed "Aunt Lynne" needed some cheering up today. This morning I learned that my best friends and neighbors plan to sell their home and move to FL. At this stage of life it's difficult to make close friends, especially the kind you can honestly speak your mind to. Lynne in NC
Aw, I'm sorry....that happened to me before...my best friend at work moved out of state. It's hard....close friends are hard to find at any age! Slate sends kisses....
Nice job Betsy . . . looks really nice and obviously the cats think so too . . and probably think you did it for their benefit . . :) Looks like you have a big garden . . . have you a petrol lawn mower? . . :)
Are those hostas in your flower bed? And if so, do you have a problem with slugs? Cats are weird aren't they? Maybe they think you built the paving to keep their feet clean.
Yes, very much. Snails too. I put down loads of sharp grit under my hostas but they keep getting eaten. We keep replanting because the Chef loves hostas but I'm not sure I'm going to succeed.
Hi Betsy - bet it's slightly warmer than the damp grass! You really should have laid a double width ... then they'd have a nice bench to stretch out on!! It looks lovely and tidy for the flower bed .. cheers Hilary
A good foundation for those kitty postures. Just look at those lines....strong back, sleek legs. I could go on, but right now I'm intrigued at what Slate has his eye on. Just what could it be?
Cats are so good about doing things like that. I had a cat that loved to climb my ladder and thought it was there just for her to get to the roof to look around on.
It looks really nice. Cats are so funny. Everything belongs to them. :)
ReplyDeleteBefore the pavers, the cats walked a straight line right through the flowers. Now each and every
Deleteone of them walk this curvy path...hilarious!
LOL, so cute!!! :) Of course you were making them a sidewalk. Love all the kitty updates! Janine in AZ

Yes, hostas...little ones just planted this year. No slugs that I know of. Do they like hostas?
DeleteYes, very much. Snails too. I put down loads of sharp grit under my hostas but they keep getting eaten. We keep replanting because the Chef loves hostas but I'm not sure I'm going to succeed.
DeleteI think they love beer. I've heard of putting a saucer of beer in the flower bed and they will climb in and drown.
Delete...or maybe they just pass out from intoxication. lol...
DeleteFlower bed looks nice! And so does the sidewalk... uh... pavers!
ReplyDeleteIt's looking a little dry out there....can't believe we need rain after all that sogginess we had in the spring!
DeleteYou didn't put it down for them ?!?
ReplyDeletenope...haha.
DeleteLove that curvy "sidewalk" just for the sweet kitties.
ReplyDeleteThe pavers really look nice Betsy.
they are so funny strictly following those curves! haha.
Deletehaha it's a perfect fit
ReplyDeleteYou really did it for them, admit it
Yeah, if you see a little stop sign out there some time, you'll know my original intent. haha.
DeleteIt does look like their own personal sidewalk!
ReplyDeletedoesn't it? I laugh every time a cat walks that thing.
DeleteReminds me of a guard patrolling the battlements of a castle, making sure that no enemy enters the hallowed portals of his mistresses apartments!
ReplyDeleteYes, I know; I'm just an old romantic with a vivid imagination. . . (sigh)
That's ok...Slate is an old romantic, too! haha.
DeleteAren't cats funny?
ReplyDeletealways entertaining... haha...
DeleteCats and kids... I can see them both having fun.
ReplyDeleteThe pavers really make your garden standout.
It did finish it off nicer than it was, I think. :)
DeleteJust perfect....it will work great on Halloween when you black babies jump out from behind the trees! :)
ReplyDeletehaha....I should buy them a tiny pumpkin to put out there!

ReplyDeleteDouble width with a center line....coming and going when the traffic is heavy! haha....

ReplyDeletehaha...well, that would hard to tell with a cat...especially Slate. He's a busy, curious guy!
DeleteCats are so good about doing things like that. I had a cat that loved to climb my ladder and thought it was there just for her to get to the roof to look around on.
ReplyDeletehaha..yeah, we had cats that would climb the pool ladder just to get a drink!
DeleteLove that they all take that route now - silly kitties.
ReplyDeleteIt really is a lovely finishing touch.
