Thanks, Don!

I got this jar of homemade peach salsa from
Don today!  Isn't it beautiful?

I worked an auction and arrived home today to find it waiting
for me on the front porch.  Of course I had to dive right into
it with some tortilla chips!  Oh my!  So yummy.
One of the best salsas I have ever tasted!
Hot and spicy, just like I prefer it, too!
Mexican food is my all time favorite!

Don was almost solely responsible for encouraging me to take my
photography to the next level.  I didn't even know him a few years
ago and he sent me an email saying he enjoyed my blog and
photography and just encouraged me to keep at it.  So, I did!
I thought I would have some fun and thank him
by giving his salsa a proper photo shoot. ha.

So, thanks for the encouragement, Don, and for your friendship...
and of course for the delicious jar of salsa!
It photographs very well!

Since it came from Georgia, it just had to have peaches in it, right?

If you haven't visited Don's blog, you really should!
He has an unbelievable garden and since Georgia is like summer
for three quarters of the year, he's eating the fruits of his
labor while Ohio still has snow on the ground. haha.

Thanks, Don!
Do I have to share with the men?
I might let them have a little taste, I guess.

    2. I think that was Don shelling peas and his wife cutting squash. They cook together...something the mister and I have never done! lol....
I loved those purple peas...so pretty!

    4. haha...my mister offers to make dinner occasionally on the weekend but I've started to decline since it's ...well...not really that tasty. lol....He does, however, do the dishes...which is very nice. :)

    5. Well, just for the record, we don't actually cook TOGETHER for the most part. It seems since I retired, my volunteering to prepare breakfast every morning became a steady job. And we usually just "throw things together" for lunches, so not much cooking there. And SHE prepares the evening meals while I'm delivering our great grandson back to his mommy's house. But yes, I CAN cook, and I do "help" her if needed...especially at special events like Thanksgiving and Christmas.

    6. Breakfast every morning? I could get used to that. ha. Maybe I should have said you two freeze and can together?...which actually looks fun to me. And one person couldn't do it all with your big garden!

    2. Yes, Christine, I do! THREE of them to be exact. Youngest one is married---the two middle ones (I'm the oldest) are single, and old, and cranky! One lives off in the woods in a cabin by himself...hardly ever comes around. LOL...

    3. Hmm...Christine, it doesn't sound like the cranky ones will be wanting to send salsa to anyone. lol....

  9. OH MY!!! What an honor!! Hahahaha.... I was primarily worried about it arriving intact, and not with a cracked jar!! So to know it did, and that you have totally dedicated one of your daily writings to it, is way more than expected. And I had no doubt you would find it tasty!! And it becomes downright habit-forming if you're not careful. Now let that party begin!

  10. It looks wonderful. I am too hooked on sugar to not put it on peaches though. I bet it does work great though with all the spices and the other ingredients.

    1. A sweet tooth, huh? Me, too.... but I like savory, too. No sugar on these peaches...they were hot and spicy!

I love peach salsa and used to can with a friend of mine many years ago. A lot of work and somehow we would inevitably pick the hottest day of the year! But it was worth it.
