My chalk board still said "Welcome Spring!", so
I thought I'd better get into the summer spirit since
we're already five days into the new season!
A patriotic theme just seemed to fit, with
Independence Day and Labor Day practically
being the end caps of the season!
And if you like the enamelware plate, it's
for sale in the shop!
♥
Yes . . . welcome summer . . . like the arrangement . . . :)
ReplyDeleteI think Summer is giving the Mother Country a miss this year!
DeleteWell, the weather isn't very summery here...grey, wet and rumbles of thunder all day long!
DeleteInteresting you call it a chalk board . . . . we call it a black board . . . maybe your's is a better description.
DeleteMy Maths master used to say to us, "You are having difficultly understanding, watch the board and I'll go through it!" . . . lol
Love the new face.....Betsy, did you take that bite out of the watermelon, or was it one of the boys...HaHa. Don won a big USA flag at the Father's Day party at the Clubhouse....will put that on the balcony 4th of July....I love your seasonal artistic touch to your foyer.
ReplyDeleteHow fun that he won the flag! It's going to look great on your balcony!
DeleteIt's a good thing I change up my table each season....makes me dust and clear the cobwebs. ha.
A lovely introduction to summer......
ReplyDeleteI look forward to the changing seasons, and your foyer illustrations !
~Jo
I do appreciate the changing of the seasons....and so glad Ohio has 4 very distinct ones!
DeleteSoooooo cute! Love it all.....especially the flags and watermelon!
ReplyDeletethanks.....it was a lot of fun to do...nice and fresh now.
DeleteLooks so fresh and patriotic! Love the blue and white balls.
ReplyDeleteI love those, too! They're carpet balls....a Victorian Parlor game kind of like bowling! Who knew!
DeleteReally? That is very cool! I was inspired by them, so last night when I was at Winners (which is like your T.J.Maxx), I bought three! They are not quite like yours but similar. They are a mottled blue glass that has a bit of turquoise and white in them. A bit like stained glass. Hard to describe but I will take a pic and send it to you. Thanks for the inspiration!
DeleteThey sound beautiful! Yours sound a bit like glass fishing floats, too!
DeletePerfect for summer indeed
ReplyDeleteEven if late at your feed
Oh that shame
After saying I was early with my rhyming game lol
The blue and white balls really stand out
They have clout
I forgot to go back and see
Deletewhat you said to my comment so cheeky.
Why were you early anyway?
Did your OCD leave at your bay?
lol I was switching posts around
DeleteAs a new one was found
And forgot to change the end
As I moved from the spring to summer trend
Was I the only one that noticed your blunder
Deleteor were the calls for spring louder than thunder?
lol...
I like the patriotic look!
ReplyDeleteI do, too! I didn't do that last year, so this was fun!
DeleteYes - welcome summer! I love your arrangement with the flags!
ReplyDeleteIt's been a wet one so far! And I was out this evening and was actually cold!
DeleteCreative as always, love your bow-fronted table too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jenny...a yard sale purchase years and years ago.
DeleteBetsy, you make me a bit envious.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had the know-how to make simple arrangements that have so much drama.
Mine always look like I just stuck something down and walked away.
Sorry your Summer is so wet and cool.
I would gladly share our drought and 109F temperature (yesterday) with you..(:0)
Well, thank you...but I bet your home is beautiful, too!
DeleteIt sounds like if we combined your weather with mine, we'd have the perfect summer!
I love that you carve out such peaceful corners in your life/home.
ReplyDeleteOne good thing about the foyer table....boys and pets don't bother it. haha...It actually stays nice!
