Tuesday

Tuesday is normally my errand day,
but the house was so beautifully quiet with all the men
gone after a three day weekend that I decided to
stay home and savor the solitude.
I puttered around, did 6 loads of laundry,
vacuumed the entire house, did dishes, swept porches,
changed sheets, watered indoor plants and
gave Nugget a good brushing.
The windows are open and a warm breeze is
wafting through the house.  The only sounds
are a few ticking clocks, the wind chime and
the church bells downtown every hour.
Lovely.  We're supposed to get rain later on.
I hope we do....I hear some thunder rumbles!

Boyfriend goes out to see customers, and I putz!
Few groceries...a few new tops...a beautiful fresh Basil plant!!
Bought a few annuals...worked on the back deck, sweeping the Maple keys as they fell!

    1. That sounds perfect! I have a little basil sprouting in my herb pot outside.
It started slow but is finally taking. The chives refuse to sprout! ha.
Sounds like you're having the same weather we are. We had dark clouds
roll by a minute ago but now it's blue and sunny!
Boys just got home...quiet is over..lol....

    1. Isn't it pretty! I need to get out there and weed and lay fresh mulch but right now it's just charmingly overgrown. haha. I do enjoy that view from the window a lot. Peacefully busy is what I was....I'm such a hermit. lol....it was lovely.

    2. I love the overgrown look... reminds me of England. Although I have bursts of activity socially, I am basically a hermit too and I enjoy it. Your new header is so pretty.

  5. Oh that garden scene just makes me want to have a day like yours. Thursdays are my day...Don goes to lunch each week with a friend from where we used to live in Sunland. They meet half way, so that gives me several hours in a quiet house. Last week I chose to see a movie instead of saying home. But as busy as you were.... it's different when you are alone. NICE!

    2. I can only handle so many conversations from an old preacher man that loves to discuss the Bible..HaHa...(His mind has not retired, HaHa) Marlin is the Adult Sunday School Teacher in his Church. (That's where we met him) so Don and him and talk on and on for hours on a verse or passage and that's what they do at lunch. You can take the preacher out of the church, but you can't take the church out of the preacher. Bless his heart...if I hadn't kicked and screamed for him to retire so we could be close to the kids and grandkids...He'd still be in the pulpit. Enough rambling....have a great evening!

    3. Oh, that's funny. I can see how those lunches would be good for him....and good for you! lol....
