Whether it's people, pets, or even eggs,
there's always one difficult one!
Can you believe that egg?
Good thing it wasn't the first one I peeled
or I might not have tried the others!
It was the devilish one in my deviled eggs. ha.
♥
well my goodness,
ReplyDeleteIsn't that crazy? It was from the same dozen, too, so it wasn't too fresh to boil. Crazy!
DeleteStubborn fella!
ReplyDeletevery!
DeleteI hate when that happens!
ReplyDeleteOnce in a while I'll get one that is a little stubborn, but this was ridiculous! haha.
Deletelooks like it is rather rude
ReplyDeleteAn egg with attitude
It was definitely a problem child
Deleteand was stubborn and wild!
Yep, a bad egg....you can spot 'em right away. You must be making egg salad.
ReplyDeleteThe yolk was fine...the white got tossed. Nope...deviled eggs. :)
DeleteOh yum! Even better.
DeleteIt seems to happen to me every time, especially when you need those eggs to be perfectly deviled !
ReplyDelete~Jo
Don't you just hate that? I'm glad the others peeled easily. That is one ugly egg! haha.
DeleteA thick skinned egg . . . obviously the hen needed medication whilst meditating . . . lol . . :)
ReplyDeleteI know a rooster like that! ha.
DeleteJust imagine what that chick would have been like if she had had not been boiled and hatched . . . . awesome !! . . :)
DeleteThat happens to the best of us. :) I've been wondering if your stray, Peaches, has returned?
ReplyDeleteNo sign of Peaches. He just came one time after I took him to the vet, but that was 11 days ago. :(
DeleteHaha..reminds me of the song " one of these things doesn't belong here.."
ReplyDeleteThat's perfect...wish I would have thought of that for my post title! :)
DeleteI watched a friend take the boiled egg and drop it in a regular coffee cup and shake it around. The peels came off every one just right. I think they were warm when she did it but it was really neat. I make no guarantees though. Easy to try. I haven't tried it myself yet. I am still hoping for Peaches to show up. I hope he is mooching chow somewhere.
ReplyDeleteThat's a neat trick!
DeleteOut of three I had a bummer one the other day...so my tuna salad and two instead of three.....Don likes more egg than tuna...haha.
ReplyDeleteMy mister doesn't like any eggs in his tuna~ no onion, celery...just mayo. Talk about boring. I have to make mine separate! :)
DeleteBetsy, this may seem like a difficult egg but in fact it is a sign that the egg is very fresh!!! When the shell is hard to peel off like this, it means it is the freshest egg : -) it is actually a good sign :-)!!! Happy Sunday :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, I know you can't hard boil fresh eggs....and this one egg was as old as the others...all from the same package! It was so strange!
Deleteps: scooby doo craze is here as well! i am stuck with the song when i do the laundry when i do the dishes when i work in the garden and dammit when i wake up too! ...haha
ReplyDeleteOh, Scooby! I woke up to it again this morning! haha....
DeleteHow true- this happens to me almost every time!
ReplyDeleteI told you! It's crazy! haha...
DeleteThat's so funny! I had two that broke while boiling and made a real mess. Thanks for the reminder about the reality of life. My girls give me 3 eggs everyday and I have to keep them for at least two weeks before I can hard boil them...they are too fresh and very hard to peel. They say if you steam them, they won't do that. I don't have a steamer....but this works fine for me.
ReplyDeleteOh, I envy you and your own chickens! I think that would be very fun!
DeleteOne time I was making deviled eggs for a pot luck and half of them ended up looking like your stubborn one. I changed my plans and made a 'deviled egg' casserole...egg whites cut into chunks, mixed with the prepared filling, poured into a bowl, and served with a spoon. Although it was unconventional, the bowl was empty by the end of the party.
