- The Mister gave me a macro lens for my camera for Valentine's Day. Here's a closeup of my primrose!
- Big Red and Little Red.
- A clean-out-the-fridge meal. A little left over steak sauteed with on-their-last-leg red and yellow peppers. Add some garlic, onion and soy sauce and spoon over steamed rice. Yum.
- Another macro shot.
- Garden Girl's current hat and scarf combo.
- Socks in a cozy spot in the window seat.
- A little February red on the foyer table.
- Jack, spying on the birds.
- Spencer working through lunch today. ha. Think of him tomorrow morning, won't you? He has to go under general anesthesia to get his teeth cleaned. He was too stubborn to let the dentist do it like a normal person, even after his brothers did it! No cavities....just a cleaning. But still...what an ordeal! So we're off to the hospital at 8:15 AM. The Mister was going with me, but we're pretty sure the boys will have a snow day again so he will have to stay home with the other two. It's not supposed to be a big deal, but what mom isn't a little concerned when their child is put 'out' for anything! We had to have a physical from the doctor, fill out a ton of forms, and go over all the general "No food or water after midnight and has he been out of the country in the last 90 days" kind of stuff. You see why I grind my teeth? lol...
Don't forget your RAK!
Link will be available Thursday night through Saturday!
♥
All beautiful this-es and thats... I'll say a special prayer for Spencer... and his momma. ;) blessings and hugs ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tanna....I know it will help! :)
DeleteYes, these pictures look good and ALMOST taste good! I will keep Spencer in my prayers. I have had a bit of dental surgery this past month for a tooth I cracked. Not a fan of the dentist either!
ReplyDeleteUgh...sorry about your tooth! I really don't know anyone that loves to go to the dentist. haha.
DeleteSo sorry you're going through such an ordeal with Spencer. Did he resist teeth cleaning to that extent before? Hope all goes well tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteWell, Spencer has always been the most stubborn...lol....but we've never had to do this before! Thanks for the good wishes...
DeleteI hope everything goes well for Spencer tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Michelle...I'm sure it will. We love the dentist and the hospital.
DeleteSocks looks as if he has seen a ghost, and Jack is in a pensive mood. Sometimes Dinky just sits and looks at me for ages, just like the look on Socks face. I wonder what cats think of us? Big cats? Idiots?
ReplyDeleteIs that Mr and Mrs Cardinal? We don't have exotic birds like that in Blighty . I wish you luck with Spencer tomorrow; does he know what he's going for?
That is Mr. Cardinal and Mr. House Finch!
DeleteNo, Spencer has no idea. He's never been to the hospital before for something like this, so it will all be new. There really isn't any way to explain anesthesia to him, so I guess we'll just wing it. That's the worst part...but I'll be there and it will be over fairly quickly. The hardest part will be making sure he doesn't help himself to a drink of water before we go. We'll have to cancel the whole thing if he does!
Love the header Betsy . .
ReplyDeleteUseful lens . . . . opens some more photographic doors for you . . . nice present.
Love big and little red . . . great shot . .
Clever of Garden Girl to keep warm . . . lol . . and clever of you to spot it . .
I will be thinking of Spencer and you tomorrow . . .and saying a prayer as well . . . hope all goes well.
You are a wonderful mother . . bless you . . .
Thanks, Ed...you've prayed for my boys before and I really appreciate it.
DeleteThe lens is great....can't get much closer than that. haha.
I love the header, too...sweet Mrs. Cardinal isn't as showy as her spouse and I thought she needed some lime light! :)
Mr Cardinal looks a right show off doesn't he?
DeleteBut Mrs Cardinal is a classy Lassie as well . . .
He seems able to get on with Mr House Finch . . beautiful shots . . . :)
Your pictures are so pretty. The one of the statue with snow is great. I hope all goes well for you and your son tomorrow. Take care, Heather
ReplyDeleteThanks, Heather....I'm sure it will go well...very routine, right? :)
DeleteI'm in love with the Garden Girl... And all the lovely flowers!
ReplyDeleteI'll be thinking of you both tomorrow morning and saying a prayer for peace and that everything will go well.
I love how that snow on Garden Girl really looks like a hat and scarf..the scarf even wraps around like it's tied! So fun!
DeleteThanks for the prayers.... :)
Oh your new lens really puts it up close and personal. Lovely. Your garden girl is so stylish in her white fur hat and scarf. I'm cleaning out the refrigerator this evening for dinner. Some leftover chicken, onions bell peppers mushrooms over angel hair pasta.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you had a window seat. I've always loved seeing them in magazines and think what a great spot for some Wanda Time. I see Socks read my mind. HaHa.
It's doesn't matter the age... I remember when Julie had 4 wisdom teeth taken out and had to go "under".... that's just what mom's do.
Enjoyed all your This and Thats.
You made the perfect combo for a clean-out-the-fridge dinner! Sounds delish!
DeleteTaylor had 4 wisdom teeth out and didn't get put under...although he should have...it was awful.
I love the new header! I know what you mean about all the paperwork. I have a follow-up EEG & MRI at the Cleveland Clinic next week and always have a lot of forms to complete beforehand. I will pray for you both! Marla
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Marla...and I hope your appointments next week go very well! :)
DeleteHopefully Spencer will remember all this hassle the next time he'd due for a tooth cleaning and 'open wide' at the dentist's office :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope so, but not sure if he would understand one was the cause of the other.
DeleteSocks saw something scary
ReplyDeleteMaybe a cat that isn't hairy?
Hopefully all goes well tomorrow indeed
It is pretty easy though once it takes seed
Trick is getting it to though
I was out like a light when the wisdom teeth had to go
Socks just saw me.
DeleteMust have had a bed head spree.
Yep, getting him there
is what causes me care.
Love your header...
ReplyDeleteYou will love the macro....mine is built into my camera....use it a lot!
Love your primula....and I see your Cyclamen still blooming....
Wonder how all my wee green friends are at home....daughter watered yesterday....
Oh dear about Spencer...to be honest, I hate the cleaning too! Hahaha!
Enjoy your evening....big kids over?
Cheers!
Linda :o)
We call them primroses! Yes, the cyclamen is still going strong..that's what I love about those plants..
Deletethey are just happy all the time!
Big kids just left...very nice time!
Such a nice selection of photos - and I love that Mrs. Cardinal is in the banner! She is so pretty and deserves some show-off time too. Lovely dashes of red in the foyer. Could Socks have more pillows? I covet that window seat - always wanted one. So cosy for curling up and reading or napping or cuddling with kitties. New lens - what a nice gift to have. Hope all goes well with Spencer. I am keeping my fingers crossed. And toes too...
DeleteSee....your birdies are beautiful! I love all your photos....and what a sweetie you have to give you a macro lens. So cool! I'll whisper a prayer for Spencer and you....hope all goes well.
ReplyDeleteThanks Laurie...I can already feel everyone's prayers and thoughts! :)
DeleteOops! I invaded Linda's thread.
ReplyDeleteI don't think she noticed! :)
DeleteReally hope all goes well when you go with Spencer to the cleaning.I know is difficult!
ReplyDeleteI will prayer of course!
I love your new lens sound amazing!
Blessings!
Thanks for praying....home now and we survived!
Deletenew lens is a lot of fun...lovely upclose photos!
#6... did you add that picture for me? You know I'm in love with your faucet.
ReplyDeleteyes...just for you!
DeleteBless his heart- that must be scary for him. I remember a time when my brother was little he was carried into the dentist's room kicking and screaming. I don't think that is the way to make it better for a child. It's kinda like being thrown in the lake and told to sink or swim.
ReplyDeleteyes...I see what you mean!
DeleteThe hubby got a great gift...I can't wait to see how much MORE amazing your pictures look. That steak dinner looks delicious, especially for leftovers. What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to make that dinner again on purpose! haha...it was very yummy!
DeleteI love all the roundnesses in the pictures---the kitty's eye, the curve of bowl and sign and the shining rim of plate---the grapes have a depth to them like crystal balls holding the fortune of the world.
ReplyDeleteSimply wonderful photos on this 5 degree day!
rachel
Well, thanks Rachel! How very observant of you to notice all those round things!
DeleteHi Betsy - good luck tomorrow ... life could be easier ... and I sure hope the caffeine mix helps you through this one ... always love the visits .. getting back to these .. cheers and take care .. Hilary
ReplyDeleteYes, life could be easier, but it sure could be a lot worse! Feeling thankful today. :)
DeleteMy brother had to be put out for dental work when he was little. I have no clue how they do it now.
ReplyDeleteGarden Girl made me smile when I looked at her photograph. It's perfect!
:0)
I'm at the bottom of the heap today.
Deletethe latest and bestest or something like that? ha.
Deletegeneral anesthesia is just a big deal! Sigh!
Yikes.. I'm sorry your boy is so agitated by the thought of a cleaning. Here's hoping that it will help keep him from needing any work anytime soon. Yuor photos, as always, are lovely. And macros lenses... SO much fun.
ReplyDeleteLet us know how Spencer fares out, please.
yep...macro lens...super fun! I can actually touch something with the lens and take a photo. Who knew! And I love all the pixels that make them so sharp and clear!
DeleteJust lovely photos ! Your kitty is so cute :)
