Just Stuff

I bought some fallish candy today.
Have you tried Reese's Pieces with Candy Corn?  Yum.
Dove Peanut Butter Cups are a more
sophisticated version of Reese Cups.
Just like Dove Cookies and Creams are a more
sophisticated version of Hershey's Cookies and Creams.
Double Yum!

And the candy looked even more fallish in bowls
with oak leaves on them. :)

No work in the kitchen today, but the family room
got paint!  It was royal blue before, so you can imagine
the drastic change!  Samantha seems to think
it's zen and relaxing.  It's a different grey from the kitchen
with a touch of sea foam green in it, kind of like the
Atlantic Ocean...perfect for my nautical theme.

  1. Nautical theme???
Now..don't give away too much Betsy!
My hallway is Seafoam from Martha Stewart...very soothing and calming...a bit softer than yours
Will look great with the dark furniture...
    Intriguing!
    Enjoy your candies...er...I mean evening!
    Cheers!
    Linda :o)

    1. haha...oh, it was nautical before! Remember all those jars of sea shells?

I've had Martha's seafoam in my house, too! It's a lovely color...used to be in my laundry room!

  2. She looks all snug with the sea
That kind of water reminder doesn't make her flee
All that candy would make me run though
Eat that and I'll be 6 feet below lol

so I'll enjoy a handful or two! ha.

  3. That must be fast drying paint if kitties are in there already! Gorgeous, soft colour. Very relaxing and pretty. Candy looks colourful!

    1. It did dry fast, but a few kitties walked through the room as it was being painted. They left the walls alone, though.

    3. By the way, I love those little bowls. If you find any while auction-ing, let me know. I find that size is good for many things. I have a few blue and white ones as well as the pretty lettuce leaf ones I got from you.

    4. I love that pattern, too....I found several pieces at the thrift store. A couple of them are up in my new cabinets. I'll watch for some bowls for you! :). They are so useful! I've seen that pattern in an amber glass, too, which is really pretty!

  4. Don't care for candy corn, or Reese's Pieces because I don't like peanut butter. But it sure is pretty in the bowls. :)

Love the colors you have chosen. And the KITCHEN! Big change and not what I was expecting in cabinetry. I was
expecting traditional. Really gorgeous though. LOVE the glass cabinets.

Did Velvet ever come home? I think Samantha has the right idea. ha.
I've mentioned that my sister's name is Velvet but did I ever say her daughter is named Samantha? Too cute.

  7. Love candy corn! On my second bag for this season.
And I love the wall color, too. We have one bedroom that grayish green blue shade. It's the one we call the captain's room and it has a ship and sea theme. The walls match the sea in the paintings. I like the way you describe it as the Atlantic Ocean. I find the shade changes in the light at the different times of the day.
Haven't tried the Dove peanut butter, but love their caramel.

  16. Hi Betsy .. couldn't agree more than with Jenniffer!! Unfair .. mind you lunch is up soon - green ocean salad. Love the colour of the family room - a change from blue that's for sure. Samantha looks serene and unfazed .. cheers Hilary

  17. I love regular Reese's cups so I can only imagine how good that Dove version must be. I used to love candy corn as a kid, but I can only eat a few now as it seems too sweet to me these days. Amazing you stay thin with all the candy and other goodies you have!

Nice color for the family room!
