I just had to bid on this little turtle pin cushion
at the auction this week.
He's ceramic, with a velvet cushion.
And the best part? His little head nods!
From the 1950's ~ an early bobble head!
He's in the shop, if you can't live without him.
♥
Really cute:)
ReplyDeleteI thought so. :)
DeleteNice piece.
ReplyDeleteAre you going to call him Noddy ?
haha..no, I'm not keeping him, so he won't get a name. :)
DeleteNice piece.
DeleteAre you going to call him Noddy ?
no...and no again!
DeleteSorry Betsy! Commenting problem again . . . . . should have checked it . . . lol
DeleteIf the correct message had gone through it would have said:
Yes, I've seen it in your shop and it looks great there . . . . :)
I think you should keep him. . . . . . . . .and call him Noddy! Ha.
Deleteor even . . . (H)eddie!
DeleteI did think about keeping him....I think he's adorable! But I already have a couple of vintage bird pin cushions that I have some sentimental attachment to. :)
DeleteHow cute! I've never seen anything like him before.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't either....he's really cute when his head moves.
DeleteOhhhhhh... so cute!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd his head bobs!
Yep...just a little extra cuteness that you don't know until you touch him. :)
DeleteThat's unusual isn't it? Cute is the only word for it really.
ReplyDeleteI'd never seen one like that!
DeleteVery cool. Perfect for the turtle collect who thinks they have everything!
ReplyDeleteAnd if you need someone to agree with you, you just tap his head and he will! haha.
Delete*collector
DeleteHow I wish I could edit blog comments.
oh, that one was easy to figure out. :)
DeleteHow cute is he? I bet he'll go quickly!
ReplyDeleteI hope he does! I thought he was such a neat thing!
DeleteI think you should keep that little cutie lol!
ReplyDeleteI sure was tempted!
DeleteBetsy...this really rings a bell in my head. Did my mom have one of these only bigger? Or was it a trinket box? I somehow remember the red velvet. Goodness, I'm going batty!
ReplyDeleteDid you take the picture of the baby birds in your header? That is hysterically cute!
Jane xx
Well, now you have me curious! If you remember where you've seen one, come back and tell me!
DeleteNo, I didn't take the header photo. You can click on it for the link. Gloria sent it to me from Pinterest.
DeleteNeat indeed at your feed
ReplyDeletePrecursor to the bobbleheads taking seed
Sure started a trend if true
Now many of those in view
Bobble heads are probably glad we stopped sticking them with pins!
DeleteThink of all that pain we'd cause poking their hind ends! ha.
Too cute! xx
ReplyDeleteI need a little rabbit beside him so they can be the tortoise and the hare! haha.
DeleteHe is as cute as a bug's ear! Or... a turtle's cushion! I am glad he came home with you.
ReplyDeleteI thought he was adorable....a little worn...or should I say well loved? Ha.
Deletei hope the turtle is not too uncomfortable with all those pins in his home...smiles.
ReplyDeletethis is really cute betsy
I asked him if he was comfortable and he nodded. Lol!!
