- Nugget is becoming an old man, with almost more grey hair than black! He's still lively, though, hopping through the house and kicking up his hind legs!
- I worked an auction today. We were out on a farm and the forecast last night saying thunderstorms actually turned to a gorgeous day. A very lovely day to be outside!
- The thunderstorms came last night and we had a crack of thunder so big it knocked a little knickknack off the window frame in my studio, which hit a glass dome on my desk, that fell to the floor! Thankfully, nothing broke! It also raised us about a foot off our mattress. haha.
- Have you ever had Mexican Street Corn? I made it for the first time tonight. Like nothing I've ever had and very tasty. We gobbled it up before I even thought to take a photo. I guess that's a good excuse to make it again. :) It was fun using new-to-me ingredients like Mexican Mayonnaise, Mexican crema, and cotija cheese. I'll share the recipe soon. Yum.
♥
Awwww - I love the old man bunny!
ReplyDeleteHe is an old man! Sweet old thing!
DeleteGlad you had good weather...
ReplyDeleteWe had a Bit of lightning a few minutes ago...
Corn recipe sounds interesting...
Your rabbit is cute!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
The corn was good...rich, mildly spicy and delicious!
DeleteI love rabbits. I think they're delicious ! [it's a joke Linda, as Betsy well knows] Shhh, not a word !
DeleteThere isn't much sweetcorn (maize?) grown here, it doesn't seem all that popular, consequently it is quite costly in the veggie shops and on the market. Amaizing!
I think that lightning strike must have been in your yard to do all that. Perhaps it hit the statue?
You Brits just don't have room for miles and miles of corn fields like we do here.....it's plentiful and cheap. I suppose it would even taste good with rabbit. Ha.
DeleteGarden girl and her gargoyle seem to be alright! Good thing!
The Mexican Street Corn sounds so good - can't wait for a posting. And... pardon me... but I am laughing at you and the Mister levitating from the bed. Sorry! :-)
ReplyDeleteI laughed, too! I think all the furniture lifted off the floor as well....that has never happened before! I went right back to sleep...the Mister couldn't get back to sleep. ha.
DeleteSuch a cute little nugget! I'm anxious to see that recipe -never heard of it before!
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of it either and Taylor had it somewhere and said it was awesome, so I had to investigate!
DeleteThat Slate has the most beautiful coat. Looks like velvet.
ReplyDeleteIt feels like it, too....I'm always saying it looks like velvet with that sheen and glow to it. What a handsome fellow he is!
DeleteI love Nuguett and I have some pictures of my girls (the bunnies)
ReplyDeleteBut always forget put in my sidebar:)
The mexican food sounds delicious!
I want to see your girls! Put them on my wall! haha.
DeleteYes I have to see where They are lol
DeleteThat must have been one big crack of thunder! Sometimes they do seem earth shattering. I can't figure out this weather. I keep the forecast on my phone and it changes every minute. Totally not reliable. Just carry an umbrella and be done with it!!
ReplyDeleteJane xx
It sounded like a bomb! Ha. Our weather has been crazy like that, too. But not too hot, so I really can't complain.
Deletemexican street corn, i need to figure out what that is...i am game to try most anything...
ReplyDeleteand glad nothing broke...wow that was a close strike eh?
I know you would love it!
DeleteYour Mexican corn sounds delicious!! I love Mexican food and corn, so it is a great combination already as far as I am concerned!! xx
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I thought....love both so I knew it would be good!
Deletelol Nugget must smell funny to Slate
ReplyDeleteMaybe gassy in his old age is his fate
Glad he is still spry
Even as thunder cracks in the sky
Might have smelled like a winner
DeleteHis size probably keeps him from becoming dinner! ha.
Before your blog never have known of a rabbit having the run of the indoors. What about his "pellets"? From the no. of photos you post of him, it's clear Slate has become feline-in-chief, even though he's a fairly recent arrival. Lynne in NC
ReplyDeleteNugget is litter box trained...so that has never been a problem. But he likes to chew, so we have to make sure the electric cords aren't out where he can get to them. Slate just likes to hang around while the others are outside! I guess he had enough of roughing it and knows inside is a pampered, lovely life. haha.
DeleteI had no idea bunnies could be litter trained! Lynne
DeleteMe, neither,..until Taylor kept asking for a rabbit and we started doing some research. I have a friend who has a bunny and they take it places on a leash,(the harness type) just like a dog. Amazing. haha.
DeleteI did not know you had a rabbit! Very sweet photo.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for you to share the recipe - sounds good!
yes, we've had the bunny longer than the cats! Two parakeets, too...it's a regular zoo here! haha.
DeleteIt is amazing how well the cats get on with nugget - they seem to be part of one big family.
ReplyDeleteBoy that thunder must have been very loud to make you do that - almost overhead to make you jump like that I should think.
Glad you could get back to sleep - perhaps you wanted to finish a dream. Ever tried to do that? Very difficult.
I have had sweet corn of course but not sure about Mexican. Of course your cornfields are about the size of pour country . . . lol
Hello Betsy! Whenever I see you post your cats's photos I smile. They are such a lively handsome bunch. I miss ahving a cat very much, but I'm waiting a bit till my granddaughter gets older and will understand thta pulling a cat's tail is not a good idea--lol! I also hope a cat will "find" me--much as you cats have found you!
ReplyDeleteI hope you've been having a good summer. The Mexican street corn sounds divine--I have been enjoying fresh Colorado corn on the cob all summer!
I hate when a big crack of thunder takes me by surprise. Talk about making your heart skip a beat!
ReplyDeleteThat corn sounds yummy, never had it.
Mexican sweet corn, been meaning to try that. I know this household would love it!
