Lazy Morning

The boys didn't have their day program today so we slept in
a little bit.  When I woke up, the sunlight was so soft and pretty
in the bedroom, I grabbed my iPad and camera and snuggled
down in the pillows and enjoyed a quiet hour before getting up.

When I checked on the boys, they had the same idea!
But they had three laptops and a DVD player blasting.
It wasn't quite as peaceful in there. ha.

    1. Thanks, Janelle! I made that years ago with part of my shell collection. I was coveting one in a mail order catalog that was several hundred dollars and thought I could probably make it. An oval plastic framed mirror and hot glue was all it took! It's heavy though! Verrrry heavy. haha.

  2. Cute post, Betsy. Your bedroom looks so pretty and I think Slate is very cozy in there. He's digging the wall colour, I'm sure. You would think that was Audrey sitting there. They are very much alike. If I did a post like this there would be 3 cats on the bed and Joe would be on my head. :)

    1. haha....Slate seems to be the one that tucks me in at night and then comes back in the morning while I'm having coffee. And yes, he blends right into that grey room! The cats that like the mister always want to share his pillow or lay on his head. haha...mine seem to be more considerate. haha.

    1. It was a lovely lazy morning! Then I had to get up and do some work! haha. I love winter like this, too, though....it's even more cozy! But we are having such lovely cool weather! It was wonderful with the window open last night.

  6. I think you deserved a lie in - you work so hard for the men and the cats and bunny and budgies etc.
That looks a very welcome cup of coffee in such a peaceful setting.
Like the toes and cute little feet, what good circulation you have if you don't mind me saying so.
So Slate seems the most affectionate of your cats.
Great shots of the room Betsy . . . and of course I see a difference when you get to the boys . . . . lol

Now, how can you tell about my circulation? You have me curious! lol....
Yes, Slate is a sweetheart...truly. I just love him!
Quite grey, peace room...and then wow! The boys! haha....if only you could have heard it! lol...

    2. Circulation - oh just that you very good veins . . . one thing getting blood down there another thing getting it back. You seem to have the right original equipment . . . . rofl
      Lucky Slate I would say . . . . lol
If only, and then I would get the complete picture of the boys noise. Didn't it gt them down a bit when they could not hear the thing they were playing being drowned out by the others. Gosh what a racket!!! lol

      Delete
    3. Ah yes...veins. That's just the look I was going for! lol...

    4. Eddy Current - I have a similar problem. The blood goes down one leg, but not up the other one. Is this normal?.

      Delete
    5. For you yes Keith . . . perfectly normal . . . . . lol
I think you missed you vocation in life. Did you ever tread the boards as a comedian. Try Glasgow first. Either they will love you or send you to Leicester . . . . I mean Coventry!! . . . lol

    6. Every other Saturday night I do a spot at the local Working Mens Club, how did you guess? There was only about 5 members then.

Now they have repainted the board over the door, "The Out of Work Mens Club", now it's packed every Saturday! I still get booed off the stage though. . .

  7. I have a bedroom chair similar to yours made of walnut, but no arms on it. When I bought it the rattan was all torn and tattered, so I had to set to and redo it with some new rattan. Took me 4 days! I was informed mine was a "nursery chair" when I bought it.

I read in a book somewhere that "Thou shalt not covert thy neighbours nick-nacks", but I do covert your shell mirror, it's great!

    1. If it wouldn't cost me a billion dollars to ship it, I'd make you a mirror like that! haha.

We call that caning here...A caned chair seat, which is different from rattan...at least in The Colonies! I can't believe you redid yours...that must have been a lot of work! The foot stool on mine has a spot that needs to be repaired.

      Delete
    2. I really did weave it all! I bought a handicraft book that shows how it's done. Rattan is cane cut into fine strips.

      Delete
    3. That's incredible! Send me a photo! :) I've seen sheets of it here already woven that you buy and install on the frame. I've thought about redoing my footstool like that.

  8. Does your hubby ever become jealous of Slate's ownership of you? His fur looks so lush in these photos, it almost seems like I could reach out and run my fingers through it. Raining all day here; the weekend is supposed to be more of the same, so lots of naps and rest in store for me. Lynne in NC

    5. hahaha Keith lost his marbles! . . . so funny
      So have I Keith . . .

    6. Ed - I don't think Betsy understands the meaning of that saying.

    7. Betsy . . . a little pow wow please.
When a Brit says "I lost my marbles years ago!" it means
      "I went nuts years ago! " . . . . and Keith has just confessed it, and so have I. . . . lol

      Delete
    8. Yes, I know. It means the same thing here.

      Delete
    9. So why did Keith say that I wonder ? . . .

      Delete
    10. Well, his marbles ARE lost....

I know...I can't believe Keith wove that caning! The man has talents! The caned chairs that need repair go for nothing at the auctions....it would be a great hobby to restore them if one had the time and inclination.

  20. Lazy starts to the day are just the best.
We would have slept in longer but the ringing phone startled me out of a dead sleep.
Answered it and no one there...grrr....
It's going to be another hot one here in the "Flatlands" of the Central Valley of California.
I'm thinking we need to escape to the mountains or at least the Foothills.
Have a great rest of the weekend.
