The boys didn't have their day program today so we slept in
a little bit. When I woke up, the sunlight was so soft and pretty
in the bedroom, I grabbed my iPad and camera and snuggled
down in the pillows and enjoyed a quiet hour before getting up.
When I checked on the boys, they had the same idea!
But they had three laptops and a DVD player blasting.
It wasn't quite as peaceful in there. ha.
♥
Your shell mirror is simply gorgeous. I'm coveting it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Janelle! I made that years ago with part of my shell collection. I was coveting one in a mail order catalog that was several hundred dollars and thought I could probably make it. An oval plastic framed mirror and hot glue was all it took! It's heavy though! Verrrry heavy. haha.
DeleteCute post, Betsy. Your bedroom looks so pretty and I think Slate is very cozy in there. He's digging the wall colour, I'm sure. You would think that was Audrey sitting there. They are very much alike. If I did a post like this there would be 3 cats on the bed and Joe would be on my head. :)
ReplyDeletehaha....Slate seems to be the one that tucks me in at night and then comes back in the morning while I'm having coffee. And yes, he blends right into that grey room! The cats that like the mister always want to share his pillow or lay on his head. haha...mine seem to be more considerate. haha.
DeleteHaha I love your feets in the bed lol
ReplyDeleteI make the same thing in summer!
Isn't lovely have a lazy day??
I love it!
Love this post!
It was a lovely lazy morning! Then I had to get up and do some work! haha. I love winter like this, too, though....it's even more cozy! But we are having such lovely cool weather! It was wonderful with the window open last night.
DeleteSometimes I make this in winter mornings but tbe difficult is get up later lol
DeleteAnd Slate wait you get up???
DeleteHaha.
If I let ares with me here he will be inside my bed!
Slate jumps on the bed every morning to wake me up! It's about an hour earlier than I would like, though. haha.
DeleteOmy! He loves to wake uo you!
Deleteyes, it's cute, but a wee bit too early! haha.
Deletepretty bright toes.
ReplyDeletelove those kinda mornings.
i start school next week...well freshman orientation mon & tues
and then work days thurs & fri
so wednesday, i will sleep in...i am putting the boys on notice...ha
I can't believe school is starting up again! I can hear band camp down the street already! Yes, enjoy your Wednesday...one last time before the grind begins! haha.
Deletehey...Dottie stole your line! ha.
Deletebeautiful perfect morning,,,
ReplyDeleteIt most certainly was! Maybe I can have a repeat tomorrow! ha.
DeleteSmiles....
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteI think you deserved a lie in - you work so hard for the men and the cats and bunny and budgies etc.
ReplyDeleteThat looks a very welcome cup of coffee in such a peaceful setting.
Like the toes and cute little feet, what good circulation you have if you don't mind me saying so.
So Slate seems the most affectionate of your cats.
Great shots of the room Betsy . . . and of course I see a difference when you get to the boys . . . . lol
I think I deserved one, too! haha.
DeleteNow, how can you tell about my circulation? You have me curious! lol....
Yes, Slate is a sweetheart...truly. I just love him!
Quite grey, peace room...and then wow! The boys! haha....if only you could have heard it! lol...
Circulation - oh just that you very good veins . . . one thing getting blood down there another thing getting it back. You seem to have the right original equipment . . . . rofl
DeleteLucky Slate I would say . . . . lol
If only, and then I would get the complete picture of the boys noise. Didn't it gt them down a bit when they could not hear the thing they were playing being drowned out by the others. Gosh what a racket!!! lol
Ah yes...veins. That's just the look I was going for! lol...
DeleteEddy Current - I have a similar problem. The blood goes down one leg, but not up the other one. Is this normal?.
DeleteFor you yes Keith . . . perfectly normal . . . . . lol
DeleteI think you missed you vocation in life. Did you ever tread the boards as a comedian. Try Glasgow first. Either they will love you or send you to Leicester . . . . I mean Coventry!! . . . lol
Every other Saturday night I do a spot at the local Working Mens Club, how did you guess? There was only about 5 members then.
DeleteNow they have repainted the board over the door, "The Out of Work Mens Club", now it's packed every Saturday! I still get booed off the stage though. . .
Oh I would think you'd get quite a following!
DeleteYou are very good at anything to do with audience participation . . . :)
I think you would have a following - you are good with audience participation . . . :)
DeleteI have a bedroom chair similar to yours made of walnut, but no arms on it. When I bought it the rattan was all torn and tattered, so I had to set to and redo it with some new rattan. Took me 4 days! I was informed mine was a "nursery chair" when I bought it.
ReplyDeleteI read in a book somewhere that "Thou shalt not covert thy neighbours nick-nacks", but I do covert your shell mirror, it's great!
If it wouldn't cost me a billion dollars to ship it, I'd make you a mirror like that! haha.
DeleteWe call that caning here...A caned chair seat, which is different from rattan...at least in The Colonies! I can't believe you redid yours...that must have been a lot of work! The foot stool on mine has a spot that needs to be repaired.
I really did weave it all! I bought a handicraft book that shows how it's done. Rattan is cane cut into fine strips.
DeleteThat's incredible! Send me a photo! :) I've seen sheets of it here already woven that you buy and install on the frame. I've thought about redoing my footstool like that.
DeleteDoes your hubby ever become jealous of Slate's ownership of you? His fur looks so lush in these photos, it almost seems like I could reach out and run my fingers through it. Raining all day here; the weekend is supposed to be more of the same, so lots of naps and rest in store for me. Lynne in NC
ReplyDeletehaha...no, he doesn't seem to be! But he has Whiskers and Tiger competing for his attention. haha. I wish you could feel Slate...he is SO soft. I love a rainy day...enjoy being lazy this weekend!
DeleteWhy is Spencer eating marbles in bed?
Deletehaha...well, where do you eat your marbles?
DeleteI lost my marbles a long time ago!
DeleteWere they green? ha.
Deletehahaha Keith lost his marbles! . . . so funny
DeleteSo have I Keith . . .
Ed - I don't think Betsy understands the meaning of that saying.
DeleteBetsy . . . a little pow wow please.
DeleteWhen a Brit says "I lost my marbles years ago!" it means
"I went nuts years ago! " . . . . and Keith has just confessed it, and so have I. . . . lol
Yes, I know. It means the same thing here.
DeleteSo why did Keith say that I wonder ? . . .
DeleteWell, his marbles ARE lost....
Deleteand he gets them confused with green grapes!! . . .
DeletePoor Lynne in NC
DeleteThis is her conversation - so sorry Lynne to take it over like that.
Perfect way to enjoy a summer morning.
ReplyDeleteIt really was...and it felt so good! I think I'll do it again tomorrow while I have a chance!
DeleteA nice lazy day
ReplyDeleteSure works for my bay
Slate seems to like that idea too
Never far away from you
He's my little companion.
DeleteNever far from my hand and
I love it like that, too.
He's a favorite at the zoo!
It's always nice to kick back and enjoy a lazy day.
ReplyDeleteIt most certainly is! We don't have too many lazy mornings like that...it was a nice change!
DeleteLooks like the perfect way to start the day. Your room is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mari....that's one room that never gets messed up and I like it that way...nice to wake up to something serene and clean. ha.
DeleteThe cooler temps have made it easy to stay in bed a little longer. I always enjoy your gorgeous photos, Betsy. I hope each of you has a delightful weekend.
ReplyDeleteThe weekend is looking good...hope yours is wonderful, too!
DeleteWhat a perfect morning. Wanted to crawl in too it looks so comfy. Pretty feet. I finally found a spa pedicure place with good reviews. Can't believe how hard it's been to find a good place. Tomorrow morning 10:30...new feet!!!
ReplyDeleteOooh...take a picture! I want to see what color you pick out!
DeleteSounds like a glorious morning
ReplyDeleteIt really was! I'm trying to repeat it this morning but it just doesn't have the same feel as yesterday. Ha.
DeleteThis is my favorite type of morning. Nothing quite like it!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree....I wish they came along more often!
DeleteWould love to have the company of Slate. He looks like the perfect lazy day companion. I remember you posting about the mirror a long time ago. So pretty. And I do love the chair. Can't believe the effort it would take to redo one.
ReplyDeleteYou need a Slate!
DeleteI know...I can't believe Keith wove that caning! The man has talents! The caned chairs that need repair go for nothing at the auctions....it would be a great hobby to restore them if one had the time and inclination.
Love the serene colors in your room, Betsy! {sigh} Sounds like it was a perfect morning. Even for the boys! Ha! The young always like their NOISE. LOL! Later, we appreciate the quietness. ;) blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tanna....I picked that color just for that reason and I think about it every morning when I open my eyes. It's so soft and calming! Unlike the boys' room. hahaha...
DeleteHave you got a 4 poster bed like me? Love you bedspread!
ReplyDeleteIs it like yours? Well, how fun is that? :)
DeleteOne day I'll post a photo of my 4 poster so you can see. Bedspread nothing like at all! But I have great curtains.
DeleteLazy starts to the day are just the best.
ReplyDeleteWe would have slept in longer but the ringing phone startled me out of a dead sleep.
Answered it and no one there...grrr....
It's going to be another hot one here in the "Flatlands" of the Central Valley of California.
I'm thinking we need to escape to the mountains or at least the Foothills.
Have a great rest of the weekend.
Oh....that kind of phone call is so irritating! :( Maybe you'll get a nap this afternoon instead. Stay cool!
