Mr. Toad

He didn't hop away when I came close.
And he didn't mind the camera shutter snapping.
And when I rubbed his head, he closed his eyes, as if to say,
"Oh, that feels soooo good!"

      He'll surely cry a lot!

To see if a human was a hit or miss
Could have sprouted into a rich guy
Or just spit in your eye lol

      Not a chance. ha.
In fact, I don't think anyone has a pet on our entire street!
I make up for them all! haha.

    2. Maybe you just acquired another animal for your menagerie :-)

    3. I wonder if he has a family to bring around. ha. Baby toads would be very fun!

    1. His eyes were completely closed until he heard my camera. ha.
He really seemed to love it, unless he was really saying, "Oh, please don't eat me." haha.

    2. Ha! Well he looks pretty comfy to me so I hope he is not worried about being consumed. I am certain there is an underground network in your town that has a large neon sign pointing to your place. Anything that can fly, hop, slither, or walk is advised to head your way.

Funny, I thought everyone on your street would have at least one pet if not more. I always think smaller communities lend themselves more to that. But, as you say, maybe your menagerie more than makes up for it!

Guess what? I got a package!!!!!

    3. There are some pet families on the street behind us. Kind of funny that none on our street have them. A few used to but those dogs got old and died long ago.

      Ooh...I hope everything arrived safely!

  8. I don't see them as much as I used to. When I was kid many of them peed in my hand multiple times. This was their method of escape.

    1. That always happened to us kids, too! And the myth circulating was that if they peed on you, you would get warts. haha.

  12. If you tickled his tummy and said, "Hi Toad!"
He'd hop and jump and roll and then he'd goad.
He'd say , "Come here and if you'll kiss me!"
I'll give a surpise and you'll not again miss me
So she did and the result was far from alarming
For he appeared before her as Prince Charming!

    LOL
The outcome for frogs might be different - you might tell him to hop it!! ROFL

  13. I think the word got around in your "Secret Garden" that the princess that lives in the house with the 5 humans and lots of little critters, is kind to all animals...You should write a children's book with your animals and illustrate it with your darling drawings. Made a decision I hope I won't be sorry for today....bad hair day...lots to so...so got it all chopped off with a new perm...Yikes it's short...but with all that's going on...maybe it's a good idea after all.

    2. With frogs and toads it is the jumping out from behind things that scares me and the fact that they are unpredictable - in fact the same thing that I find scary in spiders, insects, rodents etc etc!!!!! See, I'm a wimp!! xx

    3. You wouldn't be able to relax if you came to visit me! Something unpredictable is always happening here. haha.

  24. Ohh... canetoads are rife here in Australia, particularly in the summer. Environmentally they are a big problem, the toxins in their skin pose a risk to native fauna as well as pets (cats & dogs). Our green tree frog & other native frogs have declined greatly in number since the introduction of the cane toad in the 1930's. They were introduced in an attempt to eradicate beetles that were eating the sugar cane crops. The introduction of toads actually did help with the cane crops but they could never have anticipated back then what the introduction of this creature would have on the native fauna and domestic animals.
