Love your comment about her "eye shadow". I watch a number of bird cams sponsored by Cornell U. Just the other day someone in their lab tweeted that the albatrosses' shadow was from House of 'Tross. So glad there are still people who can make us smile. I'm also envious. The doves in my neighborhood aren't nearly as beautiful as your lady. You have such a talent for photography. You could make a career of it. Lynne in NC
What a gorgeous picture! I've never seen such detail.
We have doves that live in and around our garden . . . I love the coo coo, coo coo . . . sound they make while I'm out weeding under the trees. So peaceful . . . maybe that's partly why doves are a symbol of peace?
They are beautiful, aren't they? But they are a bit dense as far as birds go....they don't sense danger like the others! All the birds will scatter when a hawk or cat are close by and the doves stay and look around as if to say, "What's going on?" lol....
cooooo...L ha. what a cute little dove she is... now you need to have a talk with her and let her know not to settle for any old suitor that comes along....
I feel like bird brain every morning! LOL And we are all hen-pecked in our last/existing relationships! hahaha Perhaps he's gone to 'feather his nest! or build her a Dovecot hoping she will call to him "Cooey!"
Yeah, his voice has to make her heart go flip flop and maybe even briefly stop. Wonder if he had a foreign accent when a date he came to her asking. haha.
Beautiful, fluffy petticoats! So soft...
ReplyDeleteI love it when the breeze blows them up all frilly! ha.
DeleteShe certainly does a wonderful job of blending in to the surroundings... soft greys. I am glad some fella snapped her up!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad, too. I don't like to see them lonely. :)
DeleteShe is beautiful and look like the doves have her nest here:)
ReplyDeleteI love this picture!
Maybe she'll have a nest where I can see! I would love that!
DeleteMaybe she does:)
DeleteWouldn't that be fun? I'll have to keep an eye on her and see where she flies off to!

ReplyDeleteThanks, Lynne! I appreciate that a lot! I sure am having fun with this hobby and am getting more comfortable with my new camera.
DeleteI think blue eye shadow every time I see one of these mourning doves, especially if they close their eyes!
Aren't those cams fun? I haven't watched one in a while, but was quite addicted to an owl family for about a month a few years ago. Very fun!

Do they? Aw. ...that is sweet. I knew swans did that.

ReplyDeleteThat means a whole lot coming from you, Daniel! Thank you! :)
DeleteGreat shot of Ms Dove - glad she has found a fella!
ReplyDeleteMaybe it was this photo....do you think she posted it on all the dating websites? :)
DeleteWell I think she might have - after all she wouldn't want an opportunity to fly her by or anyone to 'give her the bird' hahah
Deletegive her the bird? oh my...she's such a delicate thing! That would surely ruffle her feathers! ha.
DeleteOh gawd here we go! LOL
