Mmm...Italian dish sure looks yummy! And cucumber water is so refreshing. Good to see the Mister and Slate : ) One of our trees just started blooming. It the only thing sprouting in our yard so far. I'm not sure what us is... it has pale pink and fuschia flowers.
Looks like a great weekend - yummy food. You got a bargooooon on that purse! Things don't seem to be budding here quite yet, but yours look lovely and pink.
We always joke around about when he was first found. What a poor raggedy thing was he now he's beautiful as can be! A little more healthy, too. No more worms and fleas on his caboose. haha.
We had a lot of the same things going on this week. I took a picture almost identical to your first one of the blooms and sky, I made a salad similar to your loaded one - mine was Chinese Chicken, I planned where to hang my birdhouse and I made Italian food for Saturday dinner! Great minds, huh? But I did not find a fantastic Coach purse like yours! It is beautiful!
Your garden is looking great, Betsy - sSpring is in the air and everything is aboyt to bloom. Slate looks very settled compared to how we first met him That homemade Italian looks as if it would go down a treat.
Okay...I have cucumbers and water (of course)...I'm going to take your word and make it! And the vintage Coach. Invite me over and wonder what is missing once I leave! Ha!
Thanks for popping over to my wordy blog - I post there about twice a month - for more frequent posts you may like my photo-blog - both blogs are linked up.
Betsy, when I saw you had posted a collection of photos, I was hoping one would be Slate and scrolled down as fast as I could. That adorable little man! He knew to pose and look straight into the camera. He is truly exceptional. How wonderful for you both that he chose your house. Thank you so much for dedicating the photo to me. Yesterday was hard, because it was the 17th anniversary of my father's death. He was a cat person, too. By the way, awesome score on that Coach bag! It looks brand new. Lynne in NC
Lynne, I can't tell you what a sweet cat he is! I think the ones that have had a hard life as a feral are extra sweet and appreciative. He is so affectionate..and yes, so very handsome!
He's been to see me as well, Betsy, and has made some derogatory remarks about the colour of my Blog. He refrained from describing it as 'blog paper, but came quite close!!! I mean what behaviour in a public library!! What are we going to do with him?? He's even insulted you gardener - you know that chap you show pretending to be busy, fiddling aroung with your bird feeder!! You know, you must remember him! - the guy you went to high school with! Yes that's him! LOL
I think my gardener sticks around because I'm a good cook. And I do his laundry. I was bossing him around a bit with the feeder from the open window..... "no, not there....cut that branch back....turn it this way...no the other way....higher...to the right a little...now fill it up!" lol....
No wonder! Google tried to tell me it was a shower waste. ha. Yes, I remember now. I'm sure it doesn't sound anything like it's supposed to when I say that with my Midwestern American accent. Talk about laughing...you'd be splitting I'm sure. :)
To be fair I did 'goof'over the spelling! and the word is so old no-one uses it anymore, so there is no way you'd find it.
But yes I can imagine you trying to talk in posh Brit with your Midwestern American Accent - it would be funny to hear you trot out all these Brit words which remends me I must do your MP3 for you soon.
So I'm also ready for the next laugh! What on Earth is a Bumbershoot? Holy Mackerel on a Pogo Stick! That sounds weird! Is that a hat?
Gracious, a simple brolly!! Well where did that word come from I wonder? This wasn't in our original conversation. I'll make a deal with you: I'll remember the word Bumbershoot if you remember the word Sou'wester! Deal?
I know! It was Vince! He called umbrellas bumbershoots! Yes, brolly is much more simple....even more than umbrella. haha. No, no deal..I will never be able to remember sue the western or whatever that was. hahaha....
Phew! I'm glad you said that because I will never be able to remember Bumbershoot either! Well I see you've posted a new subject so I'll have a nosey over right now.
These Martians and little green men will think we are completely mad if they intercept our conversations! hahahaha
It sure looks as though spring is springing at your house! What beautiful blossoms! Hope that you had a good weekend. xx

Hi Stewart! So your photo blog is less wordy than the wordy blog? haha...ok...I'll come have a look!
DeleteThat salad looks wonderful. Oh, and where do you find a good gardener? I've hired so many, and they never work out. :)
ReplyDeletehaha...well, I found this one way back in high school. He does love working in the yard and washing the cars on the weekends!

My, that salad looks good enough to eat! Can you email some to me please? Tell your gardener/odd job man/butler he's doing a grand job.
ReplyDeleteSent from the public library.
Don't poke the screen on the library computer with your fork. They just may throw you out! :)

Yes, bumbershoot is much more fun to say. But you don't know what that is? Let's see...what is another name for it...brolly?
DeleteGracious, a simple brolly!! Well where did that word come from I wonder?
