Besides rain, that is! So, do you see them?
Tiny green leaf buds!
Green grass and Robins!
But my favorite sign of spring is this couple!
All winter they have been in the trees, eating from my feeder.
But something new happened this week!
Mr. Cardinal feeds Miss Cardinal!
It's the sweetest thing!
I guess they're done just being friends and
the courtship has begun. Almost time to build a nest!
♥
Hooray for love!
ReplyDeleteAren't they a cute couple? :)
DeleteBeautiful Betsy! I love the cardinals! Reslly sweet!
ReplyDeleteXO
They are so cute. She just sits on a branch and wait from him to bring her a bite. ha.
Deletethey are cute, really cute!
DeleteOh Love it is....a nest, some eggs, and a new family....it must be Spring!! Mr. Cardinal, what a sweetheart.
ReplyDeleteI hope so! The last time a cardinal couple has a nest of eggs on my trees a snake got them! So sad.
DeleteBrilliant photos, Betsy.
ReplyDeleteLove the way you are getting the focus on the subject and the background is blurred.
So the emphasis is on the subject - very much like our eyes work - I think.
Probably called controlled depth of focus or something like that.
How many nests would Mrs Cardinal require?
DeleteIs she easy to please or doew she act like Mrs Wren?
Easier being a budgie I think! LOL
Yes, the focusing is becoming easier. Depth of field. It's the aperture and ISO I'm still having trouble with. Practice makes perfect I guess. haha.
DeleteI think Mrs Cardinal is a more practical girl that Mrs. Wren. She makes her own nest and just one! lol....
Ah! yes! I forgot the term . . . . yes . . . depth of field.
DeleteMy dad used to be able to work out depth of fields from aperture settings and shutter speeds. It was Greek to me!
What a lucky fellow Mr Cardinal is! I wonder what jobs he does around the nest! lol
Isn't it strange how different birds vary in their architectural preferences. I expect Mr Wren would prefer to put his feet up and do the crossword rather than build three houses. lol
Love-ly! :) the green is easy on the eyes, that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteYes, it sure is. Just lovely. The sound of lawn mowers yesterday really made it seem like spring!
DeleteAhh, the continuing story of the cardinals! Love it.
ReplyDeleteSilver?
DeleteI think is Silver, but David remember i is bet you sign your comments lol
Deleteeverything is popping here...
ReplyDeleteeven got a bit of a kiss from the sun yesterday
turning me pink....
Well, pink is your color. haha.
Delete:) Such happy pictures today!
ReplyDeleteVery cheery! :)
DeleteWe've had several days of spring, but now it's raining....and the rain will bring the cold back with it. Only supposed to be 50 degrees tomorrow. YUCK!
ReplyDeleteWe're supposed to get snow on Tuesday!
DeleteSo much better sights
ReplyDeleteThan snow and cold nights
Wow, she really made him work for it
A spring fling may happen in a bit
Made him work a bit
Deleteplaying hard to get
Kiss my feet and feed my mouth
that's what courting is all about.
lol....
Beautiful spring photos! It seems like everything turned green here very quickly. I think it was all the rain. It is so uplifting to the spirit to be able to get out in the warm breeze and the lush green grass. I've seen a lot of robins here, but no cardinals yet. Your sweet couple is adorable ♥
ReplyDeleteI have the windows open today. I do love a warm breeze coming through the house! We're supposed to get cold and have some snow on Tuesday! I'm sure it won't stick, though.
DeleteLovely to see Mr and Mrs preparing for spring! I wonder if you will have lots of little cardinals flying around soon! xx
ReplyDeleteI hope so...would be so fun to watch!
DeleteBeautiful shots, Betsy...
ReplyDeleteI love it when Mr feeds Mrs♥️
Your grass is REALLY green.....
Enjoy your week...
Cheers!
Linda :o)
All that rain really helped in the last week! Everything suddenly looks and feels like spring!
DeleteAmazing photos of your feathered friends.
ReplyDeleteAren't the sweet? I'm so glad they hang just outside my window!
DeleteIt seems spring has left us and gone to you...cold tonight and snow coming...ugh! Your photos are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSweet red couple. Wish someone would come and feed me.
