Spring Foyer Table

Spring with a dull color palette.   Yep, I love it! haha.
I even decided my red chalkboard was too bright
and didn't match anything so I changed that, too!

And some how it's still all cheery!
It may be spring on the calendar, but it's chilly and grey
outside.  And we're going to get snow this week!
Don't put your winter coats way just yet!

I spent last evening in my studio making jewelry.
I have a few items in the shop today, if you like to window shop.
More to come this week.

  3. It's a very nice subtle and cheery way to invite Spring. I love the chalk drawing you did with the quote...Very lovely. Vintage cards and pictures just make it perfect.
How clever the plate and birdcage with the little nest. And your old scale is the perfect added touch. I just love all you do, and when I see something you've done...and I have something similar put away somewhere... I just want to bring it out and use your ideas. Thanks...you did it again...gotta go find my birdcage and nest. Sending love and hugs.

    1. I love that little cage. The plate was in the auction trash, along with the milk glass pedestal! The nest and eggs was found in our yard years ago. I'm really enjoying that old scale. I think it will be a permanent fixture on that table.

Maybe your bird cage and nest is where the spring tops are in the garage. haha....

    2. Oh my goodness...how could you know...today my dearest found my spring tops, my white skirt and pants, and my flora swags....I'm so happy. I think I know right where my birdcage is...and nests...I'm a happy camper !!!

    1. I tend to pile that table with lots of stuff and thought less is more in so many cases. ha. Easier to dust that way, too. And the muted palette actually looks like it does here right now...kinda grey and quiet...like winter is still here but fading away.

    2. Well, hello, ladies, and good morning to you . . . . . and thank you Suza for your 'sweet' message lol
Yes, it's actually Betsy's fault - she kept chatting and I just couldn't get away, while you were pretending to stay out of sight!! lol.
      Oh what fun we have!

Betsy, I loved all the ideas on your Spring Foyer Table but those sweets would not last long if I were around.
Our clocks Spring forward on 30 March. Then at least we will feel summer is not too far away.

    3. Oh and Suza - I don't know how you manage to live in the winter months in Canada - but guess the warmer times more than make up for it.

    4. Yeah, the candy dish does empty out on the foyer table! But I have a stash in the drawer and refill it often! :) We all have a sweet tooth around here! So you have one more week before turning your clocks ahead! Then you'll be the one staying up too late and having a hard time waking up! haha.

    5. I stay up too late anyway and next week I shall lose another hour. I'll be walking round like a Zombie soon!

    6. Oh, it's brutal, let me tell you! I had the worst time with it this year! Your sleeping patterns will match ours over here even though we're in a different time zone!...hahaha.....

    7. I love the winter, Eddie. Hate the heat. But even I am ready for winter to say farewell. The problem is we don't usually have a very long spring but seem to vault into summer right away. And my favourite season, autumn, is way too short as well. Ah well... we'll see what happens this year.

    8. Well hello Suza! Just popped round to check on unfinished communications and saw your reply. Hmm! I am a sunshine boy myself and looking forward to coming out of semi-hibernation, but perhaps we can chat now by email. Bye for now.

    1. Well, I still have my frosty wreath on the front door, if that makes you feel any better. But it's still kinda frosty outside! Seems like a flowery one would look out of place at the moment!

  8. It's gray here too - even snowed for awhile. I like your Spring table - and that quote too!

  10. I agree - that scale looks so great for all seasons. And I have to admit I have a great fondness for your penguin... but I guess he can't venture into spring and summer without risk! :-)

    1. yeah, Mr. Penguin has to retire to the coolness of the winter decor storage closet. He'd be sweating out here with the Easter eggs! haha.

    1. I don't think we're done with the snow
but Mr. Penguin had to leave the show.
The Easter bunny didn't want to compete
as surely weather will come with some heat!

    3. I'm sure if Nugget had to choose
the Easter bunny would strike his muse.
Especially if it were a she,
he might even charm her relentlessly!
      haha.

  13. Maple sugaring. It's a spring thing.
Real maple syrup can make even gray days sunny, especially on top of pancakes.

  17. Spring makes my world go round. I like your little nook.

  18. You always play it safe, when your decoration matches the mood outside. But I cannot believe it, no buds at all?! All my roses and bushes have leaves now. Tulips, daffodils and many of the fruit trees around are in bloom now (which is in fact unusually early this year). At least your beautiful collection of vintage cards is bright and cheerful!
    Have a good week!
