Well I do believe I am first tonight.Freeze Tag! Was not familiar with that. We used to play just tag. Am I right in saying the catcher has to catch everyone to win it?Great photos and dialogue beayutifully captured.
You are first! If the catcher touches you, you have to freeze in the position you were in while being tagged. He keeps going until everyone is frozen. But this little bird got back to home base just before being tagged. :)
Clever little bird.So logic says when it is freezing cold, like in Ohio, it is so cold that everyone freezes!!! ROFLNo we did not play this at school - just tag! PObviously not cold enough LOL
It's freezing today, that's for sure. Had a little snow this morning.
Are you experiencing a normal winter or is it colder and more snowy than normal. Another good friend says it snows a lot in Maryland, about the same lattitude. Oh! meant to ask you the other day. Were the Cherokee indians living further south near Oklahoma? I think they were a very large tribe.
Can't stop laughing about that little bird saying it is bored!!Feel like telling it to do a crossword or a sudoku puzzle. lol
off to serve dinner to the men....be back later!
Yes, they were a very large tribe. The group I was from was in Tennessee, I believe.Yes, we are having colder temps and more snow than usual. It's been lovely!haha....that bird just looked like he was thinking that. Funny face!
Another part of freeze tag is that if you are tagged and frozen you can be thawed by another person who is not frozen. So, they can come and touch you and then you are free again. And I think the last player to become frozen becomes 'It' in the next round. It's been a while since I played it! haha.
Crumbs. 'IT' must have a tremendously hard task to freeze everyone if as fast as he does so others are thawing the ones he painstainly froze. He must be 'boiling!' with rage!!! - No-one will want to be 'IT'!! ROFL RPoor little Cardinal would rather be bored I think.
It does sound like a bunch of trouble, doesn't it? Maybe because we are old and slower now. haha. I remember it being great fun when I was a girl. Hide-n-Seek was the best, though!
OLD!!! . . . . . speak for yourself!!! ROFL. There's lots of petrol still in my tank!! LOLOh Gawd we all have a load of fun here don't we?Yes, as kids hide and Seek was OK . . . . . oh and "Knock out Ginger" and . . . . . . sometimes "Postman's Knock" LOL
Well, you may not be old, but I am! haha. At least I feel it, especially tonight. Might have to turn in early and rest my old bones. lol....I don't think I'm familiar with your Knock games. The only Knock I know are Knock-knock jokes.
Just joking of course - yes knock-knock jokes. Loke to hear just one!!Knock KnockWho's thereBooBoo WhoNo need to cry it's only a joke!!
You were kidding? lol....I was about to google those games and see what they were!...and who Ginger was! lol...Alright...I'm signing off soon. Can't stop yawning! Sweet dreams!
I never heard of it either. At least, not by that name.
It could have been something similar like "Frozen Tag." Big difference, huh? Ha.
Frozen Tag? lol....
Listen, Mr. Fox. It might have been called Stuck-In-The-Mud. Does that ring your bell? Not to be confused with stick-in-the-mud, mind you.Vince
I went to Wikipedia and looked up alternative names for freeze tag. None looked familiar. I guess I'll be sticking with frozen tag. But thanks for trying!
You have jogged an old memory! Very cute pics, Betsy.
We used to play tag all the time when we were kids. So fun!
haha, freeze tag indeed! I told the kids "unless you're a polar bear you won't want to be out today!"
I was out...the wind was bitter! Whoa! Painful on my face!
I went walking... with gloves on... and my fingers were STILL cold!! Brutal! But it's March so it won't last long :) (happy dance)
That is true! Only a few more weeks, hopefully! ha.
hahaha! Love this Betsy and yes I think sometimes the birds are bored :) (we don't have time to be bored lol)
no...there's always something to do! ha.
you make me laugh thanks!!!!xxxx
It's always fun to make the birds talk. lol...
Yes I love it!
I saw my first cardinal this morning, but it flew away as soon as I looked out the window.Maybe she was playing tag with me.
You didn't have cardinals over the winter! They must have been up at Linda's. ha.
Hey.....you talkin' about me?Yes....the cardinals were either here or at Betsy's.....hahaha!They are very skittish Martha.....I have to sneak up on them to get their pics.....Had a few today, got a shot this am.....Enjoy your evening girls...♥️
I know they're out there, but they must be invisible!
How is it that so many people have not heard of Freeze Tag? That was a great game! You could get unfrozen if someone was quick enough to "untag" you before they were frozen.
Exactly! I looked it up...it's very common in Europe, too. I loved it as a kid!
I'm pretty sure that I would have frozen a long time ago in the winter that you have had this year, never mind standing around playing tag!! Looks as though the birds are enjoying themselves though!! xx
Yes, it's been snowy and extra cold! But so beautiful, it's hard to complain!
Love it! Those little birds look happy even in the cold. :)
Yes, they really do. They sure have fun, too, and look like they are chasing each other.
haha....they are having a bit of fun arent they....smiles....freezing here...wind chills around 0...but thankfully no snow...
Winds were really cold here today...sunny, though!
Laughing! That bird really does look bored! Never heard of freeze tag either. Can't figure out that third photo - is it just the angle or is birdie's back end in amongst the seeds?
She's turning and her tail is pressed against the glass of the feeder. It does look a little strange, doesn't it!
Is this a double meaning on freeze tag?! lol brrrrrr.....
You certainly had a lot of fun with your bird pictures today :-)
Yes, I did! haha. And they were having fun, too!
My stars! My sides are splitting at that first photo! Bored indeed! I'm stealing that for my screensaver. You don't mind, do you Sunshine? That will make me laugh every time I see it! You certainly do have beautiful birds. Stunning shots and a witty dialogue. I can't wait to see what you can do with that new camera. I know you are looking forward to your class starting. I loved playing tag as a child. But Hide and Go Seek was my favorite!Admiring you from afar,Vince xo
Yes, you may have poor bored Mr. Finch. haha.Hide and Seek was my favorite, too! I was thin and small and could hide in the tiniest of places. haha.
Haven't played that in a whileBored birdies in a frozen pileUntil one wins and start overHopefully they weren't interrupted by kitty or rover
No interruptions therethey just had fun at their lair.
You are quite the talent! Photographer, imaginative caption writer, and computer graphics techie. :)
have to say...I was cracking myself putting this together. :)
I must say your post today is "for the birds"....Love your comic strip.
haha...well now...aren't you clever. The snow is gone today. Maybe the birds won't be bored. lol....
Nice pictures. The only live Cardinal I have ever seen was in a cage at the zoo. I see it's still snowing in the Colonies, it's an early Spring here, the daffodils are out, the crocuses are out, the cherry blossom is out, and the train drivers are out; for more money!(sent from my neighbours computer)
Aw. It's my favorite Keith! Tell your neighbor thank you for me. ha. :)
Loved the birds and the captions are just perfect..love the post..
Thanks, Ranita! Just having a little fun! ha.
SO SO SO cute Betsy!
I don't know if they play tag, but I really do think they play chase! haha.
Hi Betsy - just so gorgeous, but they look cold! We had fog white-out this morning and it looked a snowy sky .. thankfully the sun came out, but it's coldish ... still so far so good this year .. and the birds are loving the weather .. cheers Hilary
Yes, it really was cold when I took those pictures! Brr~! But they seem to keep warm somehow! ha.
I'm serving coffee! Stay and chat! And no awards, please! Your comments are my awards!
