Cold Feet

I worked an auction today!
We were in a metal barn with a concrete floor and open doors.
I dressed in layers and put Hot Hands in my back jeans pockets.
So, my buns were toasty warm...haha!
But even with 2 pairs of socks and boots, my feet were
freezing.  That concrete was like standing on a block of ice!
In fact, there was a bag of ice on the floor that didn't melt all day!
Yep, I felt like this little bird.  Like bare feet buried in snow.

It felt really good to pull my boots off in the jeep and drive home
with the heat blasting on the floor boards. :)

What did you do today?

    1. It did feel wonderful! I couldn't feel the heat so the first stop light I was sitting at, off came the boots. That helped a lot. ha.

  3. I did some chores. Ugh. And now I am dashing to do some late night grocery shopping. Could you not put hot hands in your boots? I thought that's what you gave grumpy guy for his feet?

    1. Yes....I was sitting on a metal chair in the morning, so my seat was the freezing part to begin with. I did eventually move the hot hands to my boots, but they didn't help! I think that concrete was just toooooo frozen. ha.

Did you come home with any goodies from the auction to make it worth the freeze?

The little bird is precious...but he needs boots.

  14. That's bad! I wear Northface boots with the wool lining and they are fantastic even with thin socks. Should have put those hotpacks in the boots. But then you'd have a cold bum!!

    I love the bird picture..he's a cutie!

I wanted to let you know that I have moved my blog. I was The Drowsy Bee, but now you can find me at www.myyondermountain.com. Come over o my mountain for a visit :-)

  16. Gosh! it must have been cold!! What a venue they chose!!! Laughed at 'hot hands' in jeans pocket, keeping your 'derriere' warm. I must be very fortunate - I never get cold buns!! ROFL. . . . . . but I hate have having cold hands - they are normally very warm, and I wear socks in bed, but somehow rarely get really cold feet. Shame they do not sell 'hot feet'. I have a pair of Dutch clogs made from wood of course which would provide excellent insulation from the freezing concrete floor. You are most welcome to those but you might have a long wait, particularly if they arrive via Australia. That poor little bird - great shot. Driving the jeep must have been strange without footwear.

I was helping someone with their front garden, my daughter's mother - recently she redesigned it and we were fitting metal edging strips to a planned oval lawn we are building. Then I went out for a pub meal with the dial a ride bus people. Today I am celebrating b/d of son in law and having another pub meal.
I am late to your party, aren't I? lol

Yes, you're late, but the doors are always open! ha. Those pub meals sound good to me. Must be like a diner meal here. And happy birthday to the SIL!
