I worked an auction today!
We were in a metal barn with a concrete floor and open doors.
I dressed in layers and put Hot Hands in my back jeans pockets.
So, my buns were toasty warm...haha!
But even with 2 pairs of socks and boots, my feet were
freezing. That concrete was like standing on a block of ice!
In fact, there was a bag of ice on the floor that didn't melt all day!
Yep, I felt like this little bird. Like bare feet buried in snow.
It felt really good to pull my boots off in the jeep and drive home
with the heat blasting on the floor boards. :)
What did you do today?
♥
What a sweet bird. Georgia had a mild afternoon and I actually cleaned all day.
ReplyDeleteI hate to be cold.....I know the heat in the car felt wonderful on your feet!
It did feel wonderful! I couldn't feel the heat so the first stop light I was sitting at, off came the boots. That helped a lot. ha.
DeleteI visited Old Sturbridge Village, a living history museum showing how life was lived from 1790-1840! -- silver fox
ReplyDeleteI bet they didn't have heat, either! Well, maybe a big fireplace, which would have felt great today. ha.
DeleteI did some chores. Ugh. And now I am dashing to do some late night grocery shopping. Could you not put hot hands in your boots? I thought that's what you gave grumpy guy for his feet?
ReplyDeleteYes....I was sitting on a metal chair in the morning, so my seat was the freezing part to begin with. I did eventually move the hot hands to my boots, but they didn't help! I think that concrete was just toooooo frozen. ha.
DeleteYou need a full-body hot hands! :-D
DeleteI could have played in the cold mud with Hannah, but I ran a couple errands during while they worked on the farm.
ReplyDeleteI hate cold feet.
yeah..especially in bed!..one of the reasons I started taking a hot shower at night. haha
DeleteIf it's really, really cold I wear socks to bed, but I can't keep them on all night long. They have to come off at some point.
DeleteIt was really warm here....72 degrees. And it was a beautiful day to go to a wedding in a garden at the Mepkin Abbey. Your little bird is beautiful!
ReplyDelete72? Garden wedding? haha...How fun! Not so spring-like up here in Ohio! haha.
Deleteit was 50-ish here today, but some of the buildings had hidden heaters for the tourists. -- silver fox
ReplyDeleteWe're supposed to get snow tonight!
DeleteCold feet suck
ReplyDeleteEven with all of the socks you weren't in luck
Geez auction should give you free your arse off pay
For going there all day lol
Not even fun things to bring home
Deleteas between the tractors I did roam.
All farm equipment today
and all the farmers did bid away.
haha.
Barbie guy must have been sad
DeleteNo barbies to bring home to his pad
He was there, though
DeleteChecked him out as he paid his dough.
Must have bought some thing small
since he doesn't have a farm at his stall.
Did you see the moon tonight? Sooooo shiny and white and full. I could not stop staring at it. Almost fell over my feet at one point!
Deleteit was cold here as well, sunny but cold, I packed more boxes today, made a date nut loaf, I think you had more excitement than I,
ReplyDeleteOh, I don't know! I could go for a slice of that bread right about now! ha.
DeleteYou had hot pockets : ) We cleaned house, went to dinner at Don Pablo's and relaxed. On the way home we could see the big red sun setting in front of us and the full moon behind us. Beautiful evening!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a fun day! I haven't eaten at Don Pablos in years! Very yummy! Cloudy here...didn't see the sun or the moon!
DeleteWe had warm weather today. Is it heading your way?
ReplyDeleteNo...we're getting rain/snow overnight!
DeleteBummer! We're getting the same thing as you tomorrow. A couple of days later it will be back up in the 50s
DeleteSpring is teasing us! haha.
DeleteWent shopping with Lin and Serena for clothes for them. Went out to eat with my MIL and stopped at the greenhouse for some pansies and played in my own greenhouse :) my lettuce is growing!:)
ReplyDeleteHope you don't have frostbite on your feet! :) yikes!!
Aw, no..my feet are fine. They were toasty by the time I got home. Feels funny to drive in your sock feet, though! lol...
DeleteI want to see pictures of your lettuce and greenhouse! Sounds like you had a fun day!
I wrote IEPS for about 8 hours...ugh...3 more to write tomorrow...ha...its that season
ReplyDeleteand now we are supposed to get 3-6 inches of snow tomorrow....crazy..it was 72 today
whats up with this world...lol...hot buns...lol...twins! smiles.
You have hot buns, too? lol...oh gosh...must be in the genes!
DeleteYep...weird weather....and so windy! crazy!
Oh, IEPS! We had 'triple' the fun with those, you know. Three hour meetings..once for each boys. haha. SO glad those days are over.
Oh I'm cold just thinking about you in that barn....with your cold feet.
ReplyDeleteDid you come home with any goodies from the auction to make it worth the freeze?
The little bird is precious...but he needs boots.
Didn't come home with any goodies! It was all farm equipment! Not my thing. haha.
DeleteThat's bad! I wear Northface boots with the wool lining and they are fantastic even with thin socks. Should have put those hotpacks in the boots. But then you'd have a cold bum!!
ReplyDeleteI love the bird picture..he's a cutie!
XO,
Jane
I usually do put those hot hand in my boots! But I didn't have any more. Need to stock up my supply! And I think heavier boots might be in order.
DeleteIt's a little cold here today, too. We are in Colorado on a ski trip. You should have had ToastieToes. They're like HotHands except for your feet. If my feet are cold then I'm freezing! I wanted to let you know that I have moved my blog. I was The Drowsy Bee, but now you can find me at www.myyondermountain.com. Come over o my mountain for a visit :-)
ReplyDeleteI have used those before but ran out! I thought by March I might not need them. Guess I better buy some before the auction this Wednesday. I think we'll be outside again! ha. Thanks for the new link! I'll come say hi!
DeleteGosh! it must have been cold!! What a venue they chose!!! Laughed at 'hot hands' in jeans pocket, keeping your 'derriere' warm. I must be very fortunate - I never get cold buns!! ROFL. . . . . . but I hate have having cold hands - they are normally very warm, and I wear socks in bed, but somehow rarely get really cold feet. Shame they do not sell 'hot feet'. I have a pair of Dutch clogs made from wood of course which would provide excellent insulation from the freezing concrete floor. You are most welcome to those but you might have a long wait, particularly if they arrive via Australia. That poor little bird - great shot. Driving the jeep must have been strange without footwear.
ReplyDeleteI was helping someone with their front garden, my daughter's mother - recently she redesigned it and we were fitting metal edging strips to a planned oval lawn we are building. Then I went out for a pub meal with the dial a ride bus people. Today I am celebrating b/d of son in law and having another pub meal.
I am late to your party, aren't I? lol
Dutch clogs...wow, wouldn't I be a sight?! haha...Oh dear. that would be funny.
DeleteYes, you're late, but the doors are always open! ha. Those pub meals sound good to me. Must be like a diner meal here. And happy birthday to the SIL!
should have said my daughter's m.i.law. Strange mistake.
ReplyDeleteSounds horrendous ... and gosh what else do you do .. take few rugs and pile 'em high and put your feet on top ... How the little bird survives with his bare feet I'll never know! I hope it warms up .. cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteI actually did look for something to stand on. Oh well, I survived alright.
DeleteI hate having cold feet! You were probably counting down the time til you could warm up again. That little bird is adorable.
ReplyDeleteIsn't he sweet? I love his little round belly. ha.
DeleteIm sorry you had cold in this barn I know how is!
ReplyDeleteCan you send some cold....o forget that lol
my only hope of autumn are the liquidambar they are changing! I will take a picture for your wall:)
Oooh...lovely! My very favorite is the trees changing in the fall!
DeletePerhaps some warmers in your boots, next time!
ReplyDeleteThat bird is a cutie♥️
I had dinner guests yesterday....so I was very busy cooking and entertaining.....had fun!
Enjoy your Sunday...some of the kids are coming over...even Miss V.....another busy day......
Cheers!
Linda :o)
THAT is an auction I am GLAD I did NOT work!!!!
ReplyDeleteCold feet = miserable!
