Don doesn't have middle name, and when Jill was about 5 wanted to give him a middle name...she thought a while and said how about Donald Duck Slaven... I should probably call him Ducky. HaHa.
We lose so much of our childlike curiosity as we "mature." I think being in the arts helps me hold onto that a little more. Another of Disney's quotes that I love is: "I would rather entertain and hope that people learned something, than educate people and hope they were entertained."
Isn't there a new film coming out about how Walt and the author of Mary Poppins got together to make the film classic? I think it's got Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson in it! This just reminded me of that! Yay! take care x
Let me tell you the squirrel that lives in our garden has some sort of feelings - of malevolance towards me! - he digs holes all over the place and just sits there looking at you if you shout at him to gerroff. I am waiting for him to wave at me one day. He has feelings alright, and a very thick skin!!! I am sure that animals have feelings though, I know that my Mum's two doggies do!
Ha! We've had squirrels like that. Yeah, they have feelings...of stubbornness and even teasing as they dare you to try to chase them off. lol....I'm sure they have a sense of humor!
I believe that the happiest people have that innocent quality about the way they look at life. We take life as it comes, and roll with the punches--leaving the bumps and bruises behind us, looking forward with anticipation. I've often been accused of being a "Polyanna", and I take it as a compliment. I wish you to be as lucky!!! (I truly believe you are)
Oh, I totally agree! I've been accused of the same! .... I'd much rather make lemonade from the lemons instead of letting bitterness and meanness turn me into an ugly person. I've observed both kinds of people and the choice is an easy one. lol...and it is a choice!
Who doesn't love Walt Disney. :) My brother *in his early 60's is Mickey Mouse' biggest fan* would live in Disney World. He goes at least 2-3 times a year. He wears his MM t'shirts with pride. I happen to love the place too. Hubby? Not so much. He is dreading the time the new grandson *almost 7-months* will be wanting to see MM up close and personal. haha. I can't wait. You always get to be a kid again at Disney.
Oh, that's cute! Sounds like you'll be making lots of trips in the future. Your hubs should just join the family majority. lol.... Buy him some MM ears! ha.
Oh Betsy. With this sweetheart new grandson *our first and maybe only* I think J would probably have a pair surgically attached. :D He is so in love with Jed *our nickname for the baby* that anything is possible.
There is child within each one of us and that is why we all love Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse.
ReplyDeleteAnd Goofy, and Pluto, and Minnie, and Daisy, and... Well, you know what I mean.
DeleteThat is so very true! I was also thinking along the lines of real critters. :)
DeleteI don't remember the last time I watched Donald Duck. Love his little voice!
I still moo at cows as we drive by. Does that count?
DeleteYes! I thought I was the only one! Or I just say 'hello' to them. lol....
DeleteChild in me never went away
ReplyDeleteAs with the animals I sure play
Me, too
DeleteJust like you
Never too many at my zoo!
Hmm wonder if a limit will arise
DeleteShould cats drop from the skies
Like raining cats and dogs?
DeleteAn umbrella won't even help that slog!
haha.
Love this quote : )
ReplyDeleteIsn't it sweet? I'd never heard it before but found it on Pinterest a few days ago.

Deletepsst...I'm married to a pessimist. (he claims a realist is a better term) and he'd never wear an MM shirt...much less the ears ha.
