Oh, I like tea just fine...and usually have a cup in the evening. But no milk. ha. Never claimed to be British. :)
You know, you're right....that photo does look like it's b&w! Just a few hints of color here and there. Yeah, I love grey...it goes with my sunny disposition, don't you think? ha.
Love the gathering spot and the fruit all dressed up. I just cannot eat caramel or candied apples unless they are cut up. About 5 or 6 years ago I was sharing one with one of the younger granddaughters and when it was my turn to take a bite I looked to see a worm squirming around. She had just missed eating it. I said nothing and got up to cut it out. I had to force myself to eat a few bites and she still enjoyed it without knowing what she almost ate. I have never told her about it because I do not want to have her lose the joy of a candied apple as I have. Although I am fine if I cut it first. Come to think of it I have to cut up all of the apples I eat along with most fruit. The coffee beans look like they are just waiting for you to grind them up to make some coffee. I recently read somewhere that the finer you grind them then the stronger your coffee will come out. But then I have also read that for most machines you do not want to grind them too much or they will make your coffee taste bitter. But it seems that if a finer grind makes stronger coffee then the logic would be that one could save money by using a finer grind because you would use less beans. Since I rarely drink coffee, I have no idea if it is true. Have you ever tried the finer ground coffee? Anyway love all the pictures.
Oh and the Corelle dishes do break and chip if dropped a certain way or after many uses in the microwave. One night I was watching TV and there was a loud crack in my sink, almost like a gun had been fired. I went to see what cause it and one of my plates had cracked into pieces in the sink. When you read about what can happen to the plates it lists this as one of them. And the plates and bowls can chip along the edges which can get sharp enough to cut them. But my set is fairly old and pretty much as beautiful as the day I bought them. Plus they still sell my pattern which I love for when I need to replace them.
Have a great Halloween and today you can dig into the treats, oh yeah!!!!!!
haha...yeah, I guess there's always that risk. I've always cut my apples...biting them feels awful on my receding gums. ha. Worms are the risk of organic, I suppose. :)
I did know that about coffee grounds. Espresso ground is very fine like powder.
Can't believe you had a plate break while laying in the sink. ha. I would have thought a ghost was there!
Yep, I ate halloween candy today. :) Chocolate is sooo good for breakfast with coffee. ha. Our trick-or-treat was postponed because of storms, though, so I had to control myself. lol....
ha. cool perspective shot on the cats. mm coffee.... and caramel apples....the librarian was eating a caramel apple today...a little awkward...ha....but it looked dang good.
Oh my...the kitty alarmed me. I didn't even know they could jump until I saw one that's been hanging around the neighborhood leap up on a 4 foot fence! I guess that's what I get for being a dog person. It makes me sad, too, that I see this cat just wandering around. I'm sure it belongs to someone but to just let it roam...
Oh, yeah...they can jump! Mine climb a tree and cross over onto the roof. It's right above me while sitting at my desk so I can hear them...and see them here through the windows. ha. That cat might not belong to someone....maybe he's looking for a cat lady in your neighborhood. ha.
Wow, it's been a while since I stopped by and you're kittens have all grown up.... how lovely they all are! They were so lucky to find there way to your doorstep Betsy.
A great grouping of this and that. Your morning light berries look like they have eyes.. We have a very "Senior" neighborhood...not one trick or treater...guess that corn candy is for me, and the snickers, and the almond joys and the...Oh dear. I'll give it to the grandkids.
I'm with you on those, but not the coffee, although I like the smell. I have milk in my tea at home and lemon when I go out (English!!). Happy November. xx
Milk in your tea is very English! I tried it once and thought I'd like it since I like cream in my coffee, but it didn't taste right to me. I do love tea, though...green or black...with 2 lumps of sugar. :)
No??? Oh, I know, you meant I am too sweet already...... It is all that halloween chocolate that I am ploughing through - I might have overcatered a little - accidentally on purpose.....
It appears as though your cats get along fairly well. Mine only tolerate each other and sometimes they don't do that well either. Oreo tend to be bossy and will give the other cat (or Sofie) a whack every now and again, just to keep them in line and let them know whose boss. Once upon a time Bo Cat was the boss, but now that she's gone, Oreo's stepped up to the plate.
We've commented several times that we're amazed they get along. It probably helps that they are all related. Three litters...two moms for all but 2 of them. We do have hissy fits once in a while..mostly between the girls. And Marmalade is most certainly the lion king. ha.
I love the look of your porch. Have always wanted a porch or a verandah but no chance at all where we live. Not to mention the weather is hardly ever nice enough to make you want to sit outside for long. Milk in your tea is SO English. And horrible. All my workmates drink tea enthusiastically so I have learned to make it but will never learn to drink it. I can just about manage weak Earl Grey tea with lemon. Which is OK because it doesn't taste of tea.
Yes, it's grand...the whole house is! Mine isn't that grand...or grand at all. I've shown it before...here... http://myfivemen.blogspot.com/2013/09/a-little-fall-decor.html lol....
Mmm that candy apple looks great Betsy, a friend of mine yesterday was lamenting about them and how awful she thinks they are and in my head I was like "whattt, they're amazing!" Coffee is my drug of choice as well, great photos.
"Fruit all dressed up" and somewhere to go? :D I can't imagine eating that but hubby likes them. He's in love with candied apples. ick. The worm thing did it. haha. A lady on my talk bb the other day posted a bite sized caramel apple recipe. Make them the same way just chop up the apple first and blot with paper towel to dry, dip in caramel/candied apple mix and let set up. All the fluffies are so cute! I wish I wasn't allergic. Makes me sad not to be able to cuddle a kitten. Love the porch. Reminds me of the little street hubby's grandfather lived on. Was suppose to rain here all day but it was a beautiful 75* and here it is Nov 1st. Good Grief. Last Friday morning it was 27*. And Miss Betsy...There is no good hot tea w/o milk. Or good coffee w/o half and half. No sugar ever allowed. :)
Love numbers one and five!

DeleteLurkers I don't mind as long as they aren't creepy. ha. And if they comment. :)
DeleteWell, I usually comment, but am I creepy?
DeleteWhat? No tea and milk?
ReplyDeleteI thought the photograph of your felines was a black and white until I took a closer look. You do love your grey, don't you, Betsy?
A delightful post, indeed.
