All Aboard.....What a special day. The boys look so darling in those conductor hats. I'm sure that bus is going to feel like a train today... I can hear the whistle now!!! BTW That's a great shot of all three of them.
I don't think those hats are crazy either. ;) I hope they did imagine the bus to be a train and had a good ride to school!! Love the photos of all three boys in their hats. blessings ~ tanna
No, we've had them forever. They hang on pegs in their bedroom. I had to clip the elastic in the back to fit their adult heads. lol... They were so pleased to wear them, ...so cute.
I love your photos of the boys! This is too funny for words! By the way...what...pray tell...is Italian Meatloaf? I want some...NOW!!! Hot as H*** here as well...same for tomorrow!
I made it up...the italian meatloaf. ha. But it was wonderful...I mixed the ground beef with garlic and onion powder, egg, salt, seasoned breadcrumbs and then patted it out in a rectangle. Then I layered on roasted garden tomatoes (oven roasted with garlic and italian seasoning) and parmesan. Then I rolled it all up like a jelly roll and baked it. Made the house smell wonderful. The slices were pretty, too...I layed them over a bed of pasta. Mmmmm.
Awesome!!! What a great inventive mind you have... Make the extraordinary out of the ordinary! We are the good little cooks, aren't we Betsy! Makes dinner time so worthwhile!!
The tomatoes were leftovers...and I was going to make meatloaf...so it just came together. Yes, we are good little cooks...so fun! If you love to eat well, you have to know how to cook! ha.
They look great in their hats... I have been wondering if the man who was quite territorial about his train DVDs the first day they went to camp has come around? And, if so, I bet he loved the boys in their conductor hats! At the office I have a princess tiara and Brünnhilde horned helmet - depending on my mood I often get them out and wear them. Ha! Soooooooooo hot here... I am melting.
haha...I love that you wear your crazy hats at work! :)
I need to ask about Caesar! I thought about him this morning and wondered if he'd like the boys hats. I suppose they are all getting along or I would have been notified that there was a problem. Still I'd like to know details! ;)
They ended up not going back to school (after graduation they could have gone back two more years). The graduation drama with their teacher didn't get resolved to our liking, so we opted out of that. The day camp that they went to over the summer has a 5 day per week program for disabled adults and they transitioned to that when summer camp was done! It's going very well! :)
Today was Cowboy day. They were supposed to wear flannel shirts and kerchiefs and boots. ha, It's WAY too hot for that...even if we owned that stuff for them. They just went as themselves today. :)
They look so cute in their hats, almost as if they are getting ready for work and are going to drive their trains. Always a treat for us to see the sweet little quirky things that they do. I think we too wonder what they are thinking about. It is the same when we watch children of all ages. When they are newborn and you see that first smile, you wonder what made them smile, then when they throw temper tantrums, you wonder why they have to be that way. And once they are teenagers, we truly wonder what the heck they were thinking. That is a great mysterious age. And when they are adults, we are still wondering as I guess our parents wondered about us. The mind is a fascinating thing and since it is not really a solid thing, it is very difficult to understand. I doubt we even know why we do what we do.
So it is pretty cool when we see the boys do similar things and then do total opposites with no specific reason. In some way it is relaxing to see what they do, even though we know it is not always easy or relaxing for you. But what I like the most is that you always try to find the bright or funny side to almost everything they do. Which is why it is enjoyable for us. And the same with the cats, we enjoy them because of your stories. You are definitely someone who knows how to make lots and lots of lemonade and knows how to add just the right amount of sugar. We are always on your side.
Oh, isn't that the truth....the mind is certainly a mysterious thing. I can see why those that go into psychiatry have the interest! Thanks, Sherry for your wonderful encouragement....you really do have the gift! And thanks for sharing in my life here...and enjoying my lemonade! ha.
Such handsome conductors!!! I am so thankful you have all experienced such a smooth transition! We will be doing that next year and I am already nervous. You give me hope that maybe there is something better on the other side:-)

ReplyDeleteSo pleased that you are happy and they enjoy going.
With fun activities, such as crazy hat day, it sounds great!

ReplyDeleteIf it hadn't been 95 degrees, I might have! :)
DeleteCute! What fun and I am glad they get to do things like that!
