they certainly are....unless they are defending their territory against an outsider, like right now...that whining and screaming is awful. Sounds like a baby crying! I bet the neighbors wish they would stop. lol....
ha Betsy Im agree with Wanda they look like tigers or panthers waiting in the grass (Im not sure if panthers is the Word:) Don tell the grammar nazi LOL
There were a lot of lightening bugs out tonight. I agree, they are hard to photograph. Tom did get a video of them in the corn field. It was lit up with them.

ReplyDeleteThey are magical little things...a sure sign summer has come. Are you out west? I think I remember someone saying they didn't have them out there.

We call them fireflies but I like the term lightning bugs much more!
ReplyDeleteThose furry spies
Love fireflies
They lie in wait
The bugs to bait
Flies swirl and dance
While kitties prance
They dart and play
The night away
Then in the morn
Their energy worn
They take a nap
On the porch swing’s lap
aw..sweet little poem! I kind of like 'fireflies' myself but nobody says that here! Still want to find out how to capture them in a photo.
