Waiting for lightning bugs.

    1. they certainly are....unless they are defending their territory against an outsider, like right now...that whining and screaming is awful. Sounds like a baby crying! I bet the neighbors wish they would stop. lol....

  8. There were a lot of lightening bugs out tonight. I agree, they are hard to photograph. Tom did get a video of them in the corn field. It was lit up with them.

    1. I tried a longer exposure, but it made it seem like daylight...which wasn't the affect I was looking for. Hmmm.....

  10. We call them fireflies but I like the term lightning bugs much more!

    Those furry spies
    Love fireflies
    They lie in wait
    The bugs to bait

    Flies swirl and dance
    While kitties prance
    They dart and play
    The night away

    Then in the morn
    Their energy worn
    They take a nap
    On the porch swing’s lap
