Well, the big day is almost here!
Sunday is Taylor and Lauren's wedding!
We're just about all packed up and excited to get on the road
Friday morning. A seven and a half hour drive. I think we'll
be just fine. The boys travel well and will enjoy watching traffic
and doing something new. We're taking all the comforts of home
with us, so they should be happy and enjoy the trip.
And Monday is their day...we're spending it at the Strasburg Railroad,
touring museums and taking a train ride!
I really hope the heat wave breaks and we have something more comfortable by then!
Wanted to give you a peek at my dress!
I have to say that if you go to the dress shops and look at the
racks of dresses for the mother of the bride or groom they
leave a lot to be desired. ha. Or maybe they just aren't 'me'.
All the shiny satin and bling...I just couldn't do it.
I wanted something unique and maybe a little vintage looking.
So this is what I found from Victorian Trading Co.
It was my first choice, so that turned out to be a nice surprise!
I wasn't looking forward to endless rejections. lol....
It's lovely and comfortable. Can't ask for more than that!
The earrings are from etsy's Fine Heart Shop.
They are handmade, 14KT, and I was really pleased with them!
Here's the song Taylor picked for the mother/groom dance. :)
I'll be back home Tuesday night.
Maybe, just maybe, I'll have time to post a photo or two
of all the happenings while I'm gone.
You can be sure my camera will be putting in overtime. ha.
Have a lovely weekend!
♥
ah you've got pretty colors you'll be wearing...
ReplyDeletehugs...all will go well...i imagine you'll have a story or two to tell on your return...remind him i almost got shot the night before my wedding, so no dropping concealed weapons in the middle of convenience stores...just saying...smiles.
best to the new family
I seem to recall that story! Good grief! And T having surgery just before...you guys really know how to start out! haha. I did last week tell Taylor to please not do anything stupid the night before, so we were thinking alike. :) So much trouble a groom and his groomsmen can get into when they are being silly. Geesh! haha.
Deletethats a lovely song too...
ReplyDeleteI thought so, too....
DeleteWhat an exciting time for you, and your family! Safe travels and best wishes for a smooth wedding ceremony!
ReplyDeletethank you! Quite the extra effort with out boys, but I think I've thought of all the possibilities...or at least any I can imagine...and have planned accordingly. lol....
DeleteYour dress is so pretty...love the colors. Victorian Trading Co. has such lovely things.
ReplyDeleteAnd the song is so sweet! You will make such special memories his weekend. Cherish every moment ♥
thanks, Cathy. We will! I've used Victorian Trading Co. for years for my business cards and a few other things. I love looking at their stuff!
Deleteoh Betsy, so happy for you all at this special time. I hope everything goes smoothly and sweetly, I will be looking forward to your pictures.
ReplyDeleteas a mother of sons and grandsons, I really like that song too. He picked out a good one. It is touching but not so over sweet.
Have a wonderful time!
he did pick out a good one...I really liked the words.
Deletebeautiful! Love the color ! Hope you have an amazing and lovely time with the Mr. the kids and all:))
ReplyDelete(eho cares the cats?)
xo
I think I liked the dress because it was so different! It looks like chocolate over raspberry! ha.
DeleteOne of the neighbor boys is going to take care of the cats, parakeets and rabbit! ha. Oh my! He came over this evening to get his instructions. :) I will pay him very well. I think he will be fine.
I love the dress colors I think are beautiful for you and are my type of colors:)
DeleteAh good you have someone feed the cats and all your zoo lol
I was worry :)
one more I hope you have a wonderful time; blessings!
Yeah, all the critters are being taken care of. :) Can't leave my zoo unattended! lol....
DeleteGreat song pick
ReplyDeleteAnd hope everything does click
The train day should be fun too
For the boys to get a view
Sure you'll have pictures for the rest of the summer
Don't go drinking too much from a rummer.
Wonder if the house will still be there when you get back
As the cats and nugget run wild at your shack lol
The cats will certainly play
Deletewhile I am away!
And with their new pet door
there's coming and going galore!
ha.
How exciting! I love the dress. It's you!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great time on your travels and enjoy that wedding. Can't wait to see pictures.
thanks, mari! We're all set!
DeleteThe advice given to me as the "mother of the groom" was to "wear brown and keep my mouth shut". That, of course, was terrible advice. However, my dress came from the Victorian Trading Company!! Have a wonderful wedding and, I hope you will, share photos.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
No kidding? I didn't think anyone would have even heard of VTC! ha. Well, I'm wearing brown and I have kept my mouth shut! lol.... Thanks for the good wishes...yes, I'll share photos!
DeleteSounds like a wonderful weekend coming up! So many exciting events for you all! Wishing you safe travels, and a successful stay in Pa. :)

ReplyDeletethank you, christine! You're so sweet. :)
DeleteIt will be an exciting, emotional time. Great that you are creating a special time for the triplets, too. That will be a treat for them to ride a train.
ReplyDeleteTake everything in and enjoy everything. Wishing you all the best this weekend!
They will be so excited! And they will deserve a treat after sitting through a rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, wedding and reception. ha. Thanks, Yuji....
DeleteNext to the bride, you will be the loveliest woman there! I cannot wait to see photos and hear stories. (You chose the perfect color)!!
ReplyDeleteaw, thanks, Helen!!! I know I'll have stories! haha...
DeleteHOW EXCITING!
ReplyDeleteWhen Son #2 got married I brought the camera. I used it at the rehearsal but didn't take ANY shots during the wedding. I had to rely on the pictures my niece took.
I was just wondering if it's in bad taste for the mother of the groom to be using her camera during the wedding ceremony. ha.
DeleteI don't know the etiquette of it all, but I was too busy trying not to cry :-)
Deletehaha...I've thought of that. Maybe a quick picture of Lauren coming down the isle and one of Taylor watching her and then I'll be good. :)
DeleteI think your dress is gorgeous, love the colour. I know what you mean about mother of the groom dresses...gah! I had a horrible time finding something as I had recently gained weight and was not feeling really good about myself, not only that but the wedding was outside, in a rain forest, in July, and of course it was raining, then sunny and there were bees everywhere. All in all I found something but forgot to try it on in the few days before the wedding. Well, I lost weight in the weeks before and my dress and topper were huge on me! Good thing I was not the one getting married so all the attention was elsewhere. Have a lovely time, be safe, and cool. Can't wait to see the happy couple!!
ReplyDeletethankfully this wedding is not outside. ha. Maybe with the bagginess in your dress, you just looked skinner! :) What a story! I think we all have one by the time it's over.
DeleteI love the colour and texture of ur dress and the beautiful embroidery on it..feeling excited for u..all the very best to the going to be mother-in-law..waiting for lots of updates of the occasion..
ReplyDeletethank you so much ranita! I'll be sure to take photos and share all the fun details!
DeleteI will keep you and your family close in my heart and pray for a wonderful time for all.
ReplyDeletethanks, Christine...you've done this! You know exactly what it's like! :) I'm excited!
DeleteIt looks like a very pretty dress and the ear rings are lovely as well
ReplyDeleteI am sure you will look great in them.
The most important of all is to enjoy yourself and Congrats to the young couple
beginning their new lives.:)
exactly....I want to be able to relax and take it all in. I hope it's stress-free like that! :) But you never know!
DeleteHi Betsy, a gorgeous dress! The sublime colours will look great with your hair and eyes. I hope, your family will enjoy a most wonderful summer-wedding!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to yoo all
Christel

DeleteBeautiful dress.....perfect song...........Pennsylvania is such a pretty state.........can't wait to hear all the details!!!! Safe travels!!!!
ReplyDeletethanks, rebecca....I haven't been to Pennsylvania in years. It's not as flat as Ohio! haha...I know it will be beautiful!
DeleteYou will look smashing in your new dress! :)
ReplyDeleteI found it much more difficult to find a mother of the groom dress these last two weddings. Please just give me something nice that I can wear again.
Have fun!
I think it's the current styles...so ugly in my opinion! ha. Yes, something I can wear again...and something affordable!

ReplyDeletethanks, Dawn! So far, so good. We got here..although we drove through heavy rain. The boys seem a little out of sorts but hopefully they will settle in and enjoy! Yes, I have my camera! Lots of photos to come.
DeleteOh...the exciting weekend is finally here. I will look forward to hearing all about it. Your dress is lovely. By the way, I took pictures when I was Mother of the Bride, probably a bit tacky but I didn't care. Have a wonderful time at the wedding!
ReplyDeleteI think I'm going to snap a few. I'll tell them if Janice can do it, I can too! haha.
Delete
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you and our family are going to have a wonderful, special weekend. Wish I could be a fly on the wall to see it in person! Please let us know all the details, okay? Your dress and earrings are simply lovely, like you.
thanks, janelle...you just did this last year! :)
DeletePrayers and Blessings for a wonderful wedding weekend.
ReplyDeleteSo exciting and magical this thing called Love. Sweet song.
The boys are going to be in heaven on the train ride.
Safe trip.
Oh and when ds was married 2-years ago on 7-2 it was 104* and it was an outside wedding.
Even my hair was sweating. I pray it cools off for you guys.
Jake's a Girl
I have to say, I'm so glad this wedding is inside! It's in the 90's and very humid. Oh my...and I get cranky when I'm hot. ha.
DeleteThis song brings tears to my eyes.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day - enjoy every minute!!

DeleteOh Betsy - the dress is gorgeous and I want those earrings. So pretty. Funny - as soon as I saw the dress I thought raspberry and chocolate too! I hope you have a wonderful few days and celebrate fully in the joy and love of your family, and new family members. A dear friend of mine lives in Lancaster, PA and it's lovely there.
