  6. So that was yesterday, huh? I was thinking you must be sending us some sunshine, but we had that yesterday too. Today was a deluge, as if we needed more rain. Would have been a perfect time to check off "Walk in the rain" had I not had so many little people in the house, but seeing as I did have a house full of little people, rain was just fine by me. We had a great afternoon for naps! :)

We had lightening storms in the night and a ton of rain but it cleared by noon and we really beautiful! I hope you have a nice rain soon to take a walk in, but naps are good, too!

    Sure nothing was missed
As the kitties of the same color drank away
Another stretched and yawned up a storm at your bay
While the last had to stop and smell the roses

    1. The last few years I've bought the biggest, most mature looking tomato plants I can find and it's made all the difference! We just don't get to eat any until late September if you start with seed in May!

I have jalapeno, bell peppers and cucumbers ...and zucchini. Didn't get any herbs or lettuces done!

      Delete
    2. I never plant seeds for veggies....too tedious!
I must get a big tomato plant for home..planted the tiny guys already at the cottage...
Hopep they haven't floated away...with all this rain!

    3. We had so much rain last night! Probably 4 inches I found in a plastic tub on the driveway! Lots of wind, lightning and thunder. Didn't get much sleep! haha. I was surprised that things didn't look worse for wear...at one point in the night I wondered if I heard hail....so glad I didn't! The ground was squishy to walk on today but we didn't have any standing water in the low spots..I was really surprised. So maybe the ground needed it!

No blooms on my silly hydrangeas. I petted some lovely pink ones at the garden center and debated on digging up the duds and starting over. Maybe I can snag them on clearance after July 4th. :)

    4. I am hoping my Blue Hydrangea gives me a bloom for Vivian's 1st birthday...[can't believe that]
When she was born, there was a perfect blue one waiting for me to take to her and her Mom at the hospital!
Pink ones are gorgeous...I want to buy a few more for the cottage garden, but they are pretty pricey...

  15. Love the kitty yawn! Our kitty met a sad demise on the road a few weeks ago, and I'm missing him! There's something about a cat, and a cup of coffee, and bare feet that just spells relaxation!!!!

    1. Oh, I'm so sorry. :( Did you just have one? I thought everyone had 10 or 15 or something... :)
Maybe a chicken can relax on the porch with you. Nah...it just wouldn't be the same. Shall I send you a kitty? :)

      Delete
    2. Yes, we just had one cat.

A chicken relaxing on the porch would be bad--when they relax--things happen that would make me have to hose off the porch. :)

I only take boy kitties, and I'm not sure if it would survive the shipping. :)

We have construction on our road this summer--which equals extra traffic--which is why the accident happened. I think we're going to wait for fall to replace him. :)

  16. If I had a porch then the minute that we had a good sunny morning it would be the first thing I'd do as well Betsy, looks just luxurious!

  18. The porch swing...one of my favorite places!! In fact, when we were building our house, as soon as the porch was built, we put up the swing! Spent hours there (instead of finishing the house construction) just relaxing and dreaming. Now 20 years later, still enjoying it---from morning coffee to a late night glass of wine!! RELAX when we all can! We've all earned it!!

    1. I always wanted a porch swing and took the neighbors when they put it out for the trash one night. It only needed a coat of paint! Now, as I sat there this week, I noticed it's due for another!
Yes, we all need to relax...and a swing is one of the best ways to do it!

    2. The swing is the thing!! LOL... and by the way, I totally loved your pictures around the yard with the flowers. Can't believe you have tomatoes THAT BIG already!! Are YOU the gardener too? In addition to being the SuperMom???

      Delete
    3. Well, up here in Ohio you have to cheat a little bit. I buy the tomato plants as big as I can find. This one had blossoms already on it. If you don't do that, there aren't any tomatoes ready to eat until late September! We can't plant anything until mid May or the morning frost will get it. I do have a little garden...just a few plants. Nothing like summer tomatoes, you know? BLT's...burgers....salsa...yum!
