And then get plugged up at the other end at our hall haha

  6. I'm hoping cherries don't cost an arm and two legs this year. If I was smart, I'd put in a cherry tree or two.

    3. These were $3.99 a pound, which seems high to me...maybe a tiny bit less than last year.

When we built our house 25 years ago, we planted a cherry tree....it lived about 12 years and suddenly died. :( Pies made with those sour cherries were THE best. I miss it. Maybe we should both plant a few!

    4. we have a cherry tree but the birds ate almost all:(

    5. So, if I plant some trees, should they be sweet cherries or sour?

      Delete
    6. our are really sweet! maybe for this the birds love them:))

  8. Beautiful photos Betsy! The red against your "trash" milk glass is perfect. Our WalMart had cherries yesterday but they were $4+ which I thought was awfully high. I do love them though so I probably won't be able to resist them next time I'm there!

    1. Yeah, that's just a little higher than what I paid, but still...$8 for a bag of cherries isn't something I'll do every week. But they did not disappoint...sweet and very juicy and firm...none of them are spoiled or over-ripe.

  9. Pretty to look at. I use to have a cherry tree in my yard and the blossoms were beautiful every year. The birds took care of the cherries. One year my b-i-l had a talk with the birds...didn't work.
The next year he netted it. haha. My sister made him cherry pies until he'd had enough. Lightening
did the tree in the following summer and hubby cut it down. My b-i-l missed the cherries and I missed the blossoms and now I miss the b-i-l and can't see a cherry/or tree without thinking about him. Love the milk glass bowl.

    1. They were as good as they look, which was a nice surprise. Some times the first of the season fruits are tasteless...I already bought a watermelon like that. ha.
