The crab apple tree outside the window in front of my
kitchen desk is at it's peak in blooms right now.
I couldn't get enough of it today!
And neither could the bees, the cats or the birds!
This time next week the blossoms will be gone and it
will all be lush green. For now, though, it's lovely
and smells wonderful!
♥
The orchards have exploded this week!
ReplyDeleteIn a good way, of course. It is absolutely gorgeous here, and I'm sure it is there as well.
DeleteNext are the lilacs and cottonwood. Achoo!
I went out and filled the bird feeder in that tree today and couldn't believe how strong the fragrance was! I don't think we have cottonwoods...I need to look that up!
DeleteCottonwood makes the fuzz that floats around and collects up at grocery store entrances. I call it "Summer Snow" and it makes me sneeze.
DeleteI really don't think we have any...at least not in our little village! They sound fun...except for the sneezing part! ha.
DeleteGorgeous! I love crab apple trees. Our buds are still pretty tight, but it won't be long till they are open.
ReplyDeleteI love that top picture through your window - that window is awesome and seeing blossoms through it is the best!
Have you heard of Gallery Glass? You can get kits at Walmart. It's just a plain square window that I dolled up years ago. It does give a pretty frame to what's outside...I love it in the fall, too!
DeleteBeautiful blooms and you have such a great view of it. Love the kitty' s green eyes in the green leaves. Wish the scent came through the photo : )
ReplyDeletewe need scratch-n-sniff screens. haha. Shadow was in that tree all day long!
DeleteGreat shots indeed
ReplyDeleteAt your feed
Even got the bee
As well as the wide eyed kitty
I even freed a bird
Deletethat was INSIDE the feeder...absurd!
Shadow was really on the attack
with the bird unable to leave the feed shack!
haha.
So pretty! I have a hot pink crab apple that is blooming right now. So beautiful!
ReplyDeletelovely...mine hot pink one is already done...the blooms are fading to brown now! It was very short-lived!
DeleteThat window just frames it perfectly!
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy that...blossoms don't last long...wish they did!
Deleteah its lovely...
ReplyDeleteall mine are drowning in the 5 inches of rain we have received...
perhaps if it dries out the trees will burst with blooms...
We've had a little rain...but not 5 inches! wow! Sending sunshine your way!
DeleteI have a weeping cherry tree that is blooming it's little heart out too. One of my favorite parts of spring. So many good smells and beautiful sights!!
ReplyDeleteoooh...lucky you! Weeping Cherries are so beautiful! Our neighbors have one!
DeleteDon't you just love a great picture shoot...
ReplyDeleteWhere the subject is so perfect...and you try every angle...every side...up close...sideways..
Oh...I am getting chills!!!
The one with [is it jack]and the green eyes, with the green leaves....just perfection!
That was a great photography day for you....FOR SURE!!!
BRAVO!!!!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
It was overcast, and I think that makes the best light for photos! Funny, since we think bright sunshine is best! That's Shadow...trying to be sneaky in the tree. haha. Yeah, it was fun...and hard to weed out the best ones since there were so many! haha.
DeleteThat is true when it comes to plants...
Deletethe shaded photos ones always come out more colourful!
so beautiful and I love the kitty in there as well, looks like someone said BOO!!!
ReplyDeletehaha...he was wide-eyed all day, watching for a bird! :)
DeleteI was going to make a comment about how just looking at the crab apple blossoms are making me sneeze, but I decided to research it before commenting. I found out that crab apples are a "perfectly flowered tree" that cause less allergy problems. So, they are beautiful and not too bad for the allergies!
ReplyDeleteThat is very interesting! We have four in our yard and they don't seem to bother me. I'm not too itchy right now but I was a couple of weeks ago!
DeleteHi Betsy .. love the blooms - they are glorious .. the cardinal has amazing colours, while black cat through the white crab apple petals - looks wonderful and reminds me of years ago .. cheers Hilary
ReplyDeletethat's my sweet little cardinal that makes eyes at me through the window! haha. Looks like he's molting!
DeleteHey! That cat looks just like my Mongo. And check out that cool bird. It sitting there thinking, Cat, this is my spot.
ReplyDeleteP.S. This is what spring looks like in my neck of the woods. CLICK Not bad, right?

ReplyDeletelove the cat photo, too...and yes, that tree smells wonderful!
DeleteBeautiful! If that was my window I'd stare out of it all day... I love your pictures.
ReplyDeleteA month of Blog...
haha...well, I certainly was distracted by it! But it was fun!
DeleteI so enjoyed your blossom pictures and love that you included a few "critters" as well. It's too bad the blossoms don't last longer.
ReplyDeleteit is too bad! You have to enjoy them while they are here!
DeleteBeautiful photos Betsy, just love the random bird and cat ones thrown in there haha, your view is absolutely amazing!
ReplyDeletehaha...Matt, I always have a random bird or cat around me! lol....
DeleteLooks like you'll need to get a filter for replies. I've seen the above on so many blogs & FB newsfeeds. Can't figure out the point of it and why.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, Northern New England enjoying the most beautiful Spring blossoms on apple, pear and crab apple trees. I found out a tree I thought might be a version of the Tulip Tree down south was really a Magnolia tree (nothing like the Southern ones) with small blossoms.
oh, most are caught before being published but that one does get through...I've seen it everywhere. I just delete it. I'm glad you're finally enjoying some blooming trees! It's worth the wait, isn't it? So lovely!
DeleteThese pictures are absolutely beautiful and yes I love how smell spring too:)
ReplyDeleteIm in bed dear; I feel so bad yesterday I was to some errands and go to see my mom and now I have a terrible cold. sigh! Esperanza said she will make the dinner!
