Easter Baskets

Some of my chicks are flying the coop before the weekend,
so I made Easter baskets today!
I had the most fun making a girly one for Lauren.
I like to shop for good chocolate, pretty wrappings
and then throw in a few known favorites, too.

For Taylor's first Easter, Longaberger had just come out with their
first Easter basket in 1992.  I've used that same basket for him
every year since. :)

His and Hers.  :)

I hid the other four away for the rest of the men until Sunday.
Then, because for some reason the Easter bunny never
leaves me anything, I made myself a pretty arrangement
with the leftovers.  What's up with that?
Aren't I good enough?

Sweets for the sweet, right?  ha.
And yeah, I'm already nibbling on them!

  1. What's the matter with that bunny? You better leave him a message telling him that since you're doing a bunch of his work, he could at least leave something for you!
    The baskets look great!

    2. And I still say one of my favorite posts
was your first Easter Bunny boast.
It turned into a series on it's own
and was most entertaining when it was shown!

  7. They look delicious...and I agree...What's up with that???Kind of like the Christmas stocking thing...where I never got anything in my stocking!!!
I put all the small eggs on the dining table now...and everybody thinks that is just great...but I do remember hiding them all over the house, and the excitement the kids had!!!
I got Vivian a few small gifts...no eggs this year...but next year should be fun!!!
You missed my Cardinal pictures a few days ago...I think it was the same Mr in your backyard!!! hahaha...
Have a great weekend Betsy....enjoy your Family!

    Cheers!

    1. your christmas stocking too??? haha. AFter many years of complaining that mine was always empty, I do get a few things in it, but it's not like a stocking should be. haha. I guess stocking filling is a gift and some do not possess it. lol....

      I'll come see the cardinal!

  8. Lauren is a lucky girl to have you as her future MIL.
Love the lomgabergrr one, I have more than a dozen longabergers but no Easter ones.
I got 4 natural baskets at a thrift store to fix up for my grands at a thrift store for 50 cents total, and after seeing your cute baskets, I am looking forward to fixing them up tomorrow.
Happy Easter to you, enjoy your candy!

  16. I thought I was the only one who still did eater baskets for my adult children! :) I do love preparing a girl one for my daughter too. But yes, the easter bunny seems to only encourage me to lessen their sugar load and unload some of the treats into my meager lil basket. hee.

    1. No, you aren't the only one. :) I don't think I'll ever stop! It's too fun! My mom never did easter baskets, but The Mister's mom did and did for her adult children, so I have a tradition to carry on. Now I need to learn how to make her cream filled chocolate eggs. She wouldn't share the recipe so I'll have to experiment. :)

  19. Hi Betsy .. great baskets - and with those six hands reaching out for their chocolate I'm glad you hid them away .. then the Mister might get to eat some of his ...

Times of joy and times of sadness - sharing families ... but obviously a successful couple .. Lauren will love her basket - and I'm sure Taylor's first basket will stand the test of time - let alone taste ..

Now your sweet for the sweet - sounds a very good idea to me ... Happy Easter weekend .. Hilary

And no baking and cooking for me this Easter, I'm still recovering from my third surgery and even cooking a regular lunch every day for myself is currently an adventure and a brave act for me :))

Hope you and your family will have a lovely holiday weekend!
