Cute Little Hearts

A few years ago I was looking through a Sur La Table
catalog and I thought this spatula was really cute.
But at $11, and already having about 6 spatulas
in my kitchen drawer, I couldn't justify paying that
plus shipping for it....just for cuteness.

But look what jumped into my cart at the thrift store!
I recognized it immediately!

And the name on the meat thermometer confirmed my thoughts.
Yep, they were from Sur La Table!

They were together in a plastic bag marked 49 cents.
I used both today to make some Valentine's Day treats.
It just made the experience even more full of love. :)

  2. Great find Betsy...
I think that some people {me and You] have a good eye for thrifting..
Some people don't look far enough...or dig deep enough...to find the hidden treasures...
    Kudos to you...
From one thrifty shopper to another...
how fun to go together??? We would be rolling in the aisles, fighting
    over things!!!!....hahahahahaha....

    Cheers!
    Linda :o)

    1. I have a couple of friends that refuse to go...they don't like the thrill of the hunt or digging through a lot of yuckiness to find the treasure. But when I tell them about my deals, they can't believe it!

Oh yeah, I can see us...road rage with carts in the aisles. lol!!

  3. Oh, nice...I have a heart spatula too, but will have to go and look to see who made it. I've had it a long time, and think I got it at a dollar store.
BTW...took your advice...Don is taking me to Olive Garden for Valentine Dinner Thursday...Will be able to eat by then. In fact I just ate a little bowl of cream of wheat...tasted good, and went down well.

    1. When I'm done with it and it has no use
I'm sending it up there on a caboose
for you to use when stirring in your kitchen
and doing all that cooking with chicken.
      hahaha.

    2. haha I have nothing to stir

    3. haha...you could use it to clear snow from your windshield
or as a shoe horn slid behind your heel.
      hahahaha.

  5. Lucky you!

I'm in need of new spatulas; even when you buy good ones the silicone doesn't last forever.

    1. yep....they only last a few years. The heat resistant ones are the best, though.
make sure you check out the thrift store! ..but I know you do that anyway. :)

    2. Actually, I'm going to see if I can find the receipt for my fancy Pampered Chef ones, which have a lifetime guarantee. If that doesn't work, thrift-shopping I will go!

    1. I know! This one thrift store prices things extremely low...and I think some of the higher end brand names they aren't familiar with. So, it's nice if you find something there!

  10. Don't you just love Goodwill! I do. Stopped by there last weekend. Found several Ann Taylor items and a fabulous blue jean Tommy Hilfinger shirt. I love wearing my Goodwill finds knowing I never step foot into any of these high priced stores!

  12. Last year Target had a similar spatula for 99 cents. Our ladies Bible Study went in on a $100 gift card for an out of town bridal shower...and I attached the spatula to the card, and mailed it. Several weeks later we all got thank you notes, for the spatula only. To this day we don't know what happened...she either really liked the spatula, or the gift card got thrown away in all the excitement. (o:

    1. ok...I am LAUGHING. If she thought your whole group pitched in for one spatula, she must have thought you were the stingiest munch of women ever! LOL! Sounds like she was gracious with her thank you note, though! hahahaha....
