Betsy's Chocolate Chip Cookies

I only have a couple of recipes that are my very own
and this is one of them!  A few years back I went on a
mission to make a chocolate chip cookie that was
chewy inside but a little crispy on the outside.
I like them big and thick, not thin and flat.
Here's what I came up with.  They are rich and yummy!
All 'real' ingredients...nothing artificial.

Sit down and let me serve you one!
Would you like coffee or tea with that?
Or maybe a glass of milk?  :)

Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 c butter, softened
1 1/2 c brown sugar
1 egg
1 t vanilla extract
2 t cream of tarter
1 t baking soda
1/4 t salt
2 1/2 c flour
2 c chocolate chips

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and mix in well.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop golf-ball sized balls of dough onto parchment lined
cookie sheets. I use an ice cream scoop.
Press lightly to flatten a bit.

Bake 10-14 minutes at 350 degrees.
Cookies should be brown and crackly on top.

    6. Oh that show the two fat English women was a riot....Did they ever use a lot of "grease" "lard" etc. But what they made always look good. They were really funny. I haven't seen them in years.

    7. It was a riot! They were quirky and interesting and so very funny...but they knew how to cook! I think one of them died a few years back. Wonder if it was the lard. Oh dear. :)

  15. Betsy ~ I could be your taste tester on the west coast...HaHa..Love all the comments. Felt like we were having a party. I needed that since I had some serious dental work done yesterday, and can't eat anything for 24 hours. One tooth extracted and one old root canal post taken out...one more post on the other side, and then I will get a partial to fill in the missing teeth I've been living with for years...I think it's time I can smile and not look like a toothless granny..HaHa.

    1. Oh my goodness! That is a lot of work! No food for 24 hours...well, now, that's worth dinner out when you're allowed to eat. Tell Don I said so! At least a milkshake or bowl of icecream. haha. Your smile will feel fabulous when it's all healed! :)

I'll take a cold glass of milk (just about the only time I enjoy milk is either with cookies or cereal)...and a visit with you at your table would be an extra special treat. Thanks for sharing.
