I think he knows....knows that I have a thing for him.
The way I smile and grab my camera when he peeks in the window,
I'm sure it's a dead giveaway!
I think he's flattered that I think he's beautiful, dropping
whatever I'm doing to spend a few minutes with him.
And he eggs me on, so! Cocking his sweet little head
and giving me a wink...staying as long as I need
for a nice variety of poses.
Then he moves on to the feeder, turning back to say,
"Thank you. Your peanut butter suet is the best!"
Be still my heart. What a handsome fellow! :)

Deletehe is handsome, I wish we had Cardinals but we are toooo far north!
ReplyDeleteyes, but you have eagles and owls...I have neither of those! Sigh!
DeleteHi Betsy, I take part in The Great Backyard Bird Count every year and I think you would enjoy it, too. Just type in The Great Backyard Bird Count and it will take you to the site.
ReplyDeleteSmiles, Dottie
ok..thank you! I'll check it out!
DeleteWhile at the Craft Antique Co-op I was looking at pictures of cardinals and thinking of you. Your little boyfriend is gorgeous. :)
ReplyDeleteI was also on the lookout for a little bluebird but the only one I saw that caught my interest was cookie jar size.
whoa...that would be the BIG bluebird of happiness! lol....
DeleteThere are no cardinals in Oregon, and I miss them.
ReplyDeleteIs that right? Someone from California said they didn't have them there, either! They are our state bird...and there are a lot of them! What I'm really wanted to see are blue birds! They are here, but not in my yard! haha.
DeleteHow sweet. He looks a bit in love....
ReplyDeleteDo you think? oooohhh...I hope so! ha.
DeleteThose are magazine worthy!
ReplyDeletehey, thanks, otin! :)
DeleteSuch wonderful shots! He is indeed a handsome fellow. Please tell me what your camera is again. This time I am going to write it down.
ReplyDeleteIt's a Nikon Coolpix P100. it's on my sidebar if you want to see what it looks like. And I took those pictures through the kitchen window...just zoomed in on him a little! it's a great camera...
DeleteOh, right...I have seen that on your sidebar, but thanks for the info again. Ah, my brain!
DeleteYou really do get remarkable shots with that camera, though I am sure that a lot of your success comes from your artistry. However, there's no denying that a good camera is a powerful tool.
Thanks for commenting, too, on my blog photo of my 3 grandsons. A footnote to that: 2 of them are on the autism spectrum with one of them being(so far)a non-speaker, like your 3 guys. That reality further complicates the chance of getting a good picture of all three of them. I am sure that is well known to you. I always read your posts about your 3 autistic sons with special interest.
Well, I thought it was just one grandson on the spectrum and when I looked at the picture, I tried to figure out which one! But of course, I couldn't! Yes, that makes it REALLY hard...in most cases impossible... to get a family or group photo. But that one is a keeper you posted...so sweet!
DeleteNo kiddin. What a gorgeous little fella.
ReplyDeleteI love him.
Animals know when you are being nice to them
and this is his way of telling you how much
he appreciates you.
What fantastic shots.:)
Yes, I agree...they know! They have great intuition. I do wish the mama of two of my litters would warm up to me, though. She comes in and even sleeps overnight in the big cooshy chair, but will not be touched or petted. Aww...I want to love on her! Maybe in time.
DeleteHaha! You've now acquired another man! Your photos are wonderfully done.
ReplyDeleteyeah, I needed another...lol....
DeleteWhat great beauty! Obviously you have a wonderful variety of birds in Ohio. And what brilliant shots! My husband, who has to do photos for magazines sometimes, commissioned me to tell you, that he is very impressed, too!
ReplyDeleteChristel
really? Well, tell him thank you very much! :)
DeleteI'll jump on the band wagon with the compliments for your photography! Have you ever considered putting all these "bird pictures" into a coffee table type book?? From what I've seen it's certainly worth considering. Excellent work!
ReplyDeletewell, thanks, Don! I've never considered a book, no. :) But a few people has said a calendar might be a good idea. I'll have to think about that. It sure is fun, trying to get a good pose! Great to see you here! :)
DeleteA calendar would be cool too! I've thought about that myself on some of my photos, but when I started looking into it, it seemed cost prohibitive. But... please don't let my thoughts discourage you! And yes, I'm here... glad you're glad to see me again! LOL.... I told you I'd still keep an eye on you!
DeleteSo you did. :)
DeleteWell, at your prompting, I did look online as to how to go about submitting a photo to a magazine. I thought that might be a good start. Then I happened to find birdwatchingdaily.com where you can post your bird photos and there are weekly winners chosen in several different categories. So I entered two of my photos last night just to see if anyone else thought they were good. So we shall see!
There are lots of great photos there but I have to say that mine held there own...at least I thought so. :)
JUST GORGEOUS! TRULY! Although I wonder at their intelligence as they hit the house and windows often. This guy is just HIGH CLASS!
ReplyDeleteoh, that just means you have clean windows and the reflection looks just like the sky! :)
