I Spy

I spy
with my eye
two live ornaments
trying to hide!

You've heard of live nativity scenes and live trees?
I have live ornaments!  Animated ones, too! ha.
Shadow and Samantha had the best time in the tree
until I shooed them out of it! ha.

It took me a while.  They really didn't want to get down!

I think Samantha wanted to nap there.
Isn't she adorable?
I think that shot would make a cute Christmas card!

I finally got the tree skirt around the tree today!
This afternoon I walked through the room and found this.
The whole litter napping under the tree!
I couldn't have posed them under there if I wanted to. ha.
Samantha, Shadow, Smoke and Cinder.
Now that is just TOO cute.
See why I can't get rid of any of these cats?
They are just too adorable!

I'm off to a reception and concert tonight.
Has anyone ever seen The Trans-Siberian Orchestra?

  1. Betsy I can totally see why you couldn't get rid of them. My cat was doing exactly the same last night. We downsized our tree this year but he still managed to get in the tree and have a little scout around & play with the tinsel & baubles. Actually, he was playing with it the moment it came out of the box & now he thinks the box is his and is sleeping in it as I am typing this message :-)

  7. I think the bottom picture is my favorite. They look so angelic!

Every year when I put the skirt under the tree it takes about 15 minutes for the cats to get down there and mess it up. Then every day until we put the tree away we find ornaments that have fallen off the tree onto the floor.

    1. It took them almost a week to climb the tree! I really thought they might leave it alone. haha. And it's only the kittens that are in it. It's been years since we had a cat in our tree. Hilarious. :) They had a soccer game going with an ornament today, too!

  8. Dear Betsy, how extremely cute is this: a real Catmas tree! Your cats are so beautiful and adorable. I have Rosie and Lilly in the house, a stray tom-cat living in our conservatory, as he is still afraid to come in and also the two girls won´t let him, and several cats from our neighbourhood, who visit us all the time for food and company. - How was your Siberian concert? And what about the new sparkling frocks? Today in Germany we have the day of holy St. Niclas (Nikolaus), who brings sweets for nice children. And sometimes even a rather late girl like me gets a dark green dress, embroidered with some rhinestones
Sweet dreams,it is a quarter to twelve p.m. over here. I am afraid, I have no idea, what´s the time on your side of the ocean.

the concert was awesome. WOW! I got a new fancy scarf to dress up my black dress and a faux fur stole to keep the chill off. :) Looks like you're about 5 hours earlier than us there! :)

  11. Oh I want your tree and the kittens that come with it. So adorable!!

I went to a "Women's Christmas Party" last night and it was really fun. We played Christmas Bingo for the enchange gift. The Bingo card had words like manger, noel, shepherd, etc. and we used red and green M&M's for the markers. When some one got BINGO, they could get a gift from under the tree. I thought it was rather clever.

    Know you'll have a great time tonight!~

But it was a real tree...and we had to put a nail and some fishing line to hole it up!!!

  15. Oh my goodness. For years we had to tie our Christmas tree to the window locks because our over weight, non athletic cat would amble over to the tree and sit in the branches about half way up. She tipped it over many times. Our tabby did that for years, a wild streak in a passive old lady. These pictures are not only cute, but beautiful. Glad our dogs can't climb. (o:

  19. I'm sure everyone else has already oo-ed and ah-ed, but since I didn't read all the previous comments I will do it again. :)

Aw, how cute! What a good momma you are to let them climb the tree and even have the patience to take pictures, though I suppose through the years you have had to exercise great patience on many occasions... A cat in the tree is probably nothing compared to an escaped and naked child.

I'm going to be looking for that middle picture of Samantha on future greeting cards. (You should publish a book (or calendar) of cat photos. It might pay for their food and surgeries. :)

  24. Glad you enjoyed TSO. I saw them in Hershey a few years ago & loved it. Love those cats! You should put that on a Christmas card . going to hear the Christmas part of "The Messiah" tonight with girls from my high school class. One of the soloists sang with the metropolitan Opera so it should be good.
