Jack

Little Jack got hurt this morning!
I heard him crying in the room and walked in to see him dangling
from only a toe pad that was caught in the top of Nugget's cage!
Aw...it was stuck and twisted from him trying to get loose.

I got him free but he ran and hid and I couldn't find him or entice him to
come out so I could see how badly hurt he was.  Well he finally came out
12 hours later.  His little paw is swollen and showing purple through the white fur,
but he's purring and rough housing with the big cats, so I guess he'll be  ok.
Just what I needed...more stress. ha.

    1. yes, he'll be fine. Nugget is the rabbit...not the bird. ha. I'm never worried about anyone getting the rabbit...he's huge...not even in his cage. lol....

  3. They have a way of hiding until feeling safe. Jack is a beautiful cat...look at those eyes and whiskers. Was Nugget in the cage when it happened?

    1. he was...I think they were chasing like they love to do with each other. But the cage door is removed since Nugget runs the house. I'm glad he is ok...I was thinking we'd be making a vet trip but I guess that isn't necessary. The big cats came in tonight (they are mostly outside) and he loves them...and that brought him out of hiding. :)

  4. Aw, poor little kitten, he looks so much like my Sammy, in fact Sammy will even lay like this.;) Did you know that cats also purr when they are in pain or scared, so if he will not better and the swelling will not go away you shoudl take him to the wet.;)
Sorry for my absence, have been preoccupied with rl.;)) Have a great weekend,
    xoxo

    1. yes, I have heard that...even purr as they are dying! He's very playful, though and doesn't act like anything is wrong. Still swollen this morning, though.

  13. Poor Jackie Boy!! Kittens find the craziest things to get caught in!!!! Silly little things! He is so precious!

Saw a litter of kittens at the Dairy Bar - I am wondering if their Momma is the scraggly, little Calico Momma to your first litter. SO cute! There are SIX of them...hope they do NOT make their way to YOUR house!

    1. Haven't seen that momma since early spring right after she had a litter. I think a fox got her and the babies....she was coming many times a day to eat and then just disappeared. :(

  16. Glad he is okay
Must have made for a stressful day
They can get stuck almost anywhere
I'm sure he was hiding some place others wouldn't dare
That is why he was out of sight
    Causing you a fright

    1. It was a stressful day!
And I had to leave for an auction and not stay
      to see how he was
so I told the sitter to keep an eye out just because
and then called the mister, too
to check when he came home when work was through.
I'm just glad I was home when he got stuck
if he was alone all day that would have really sucked.
      lol.....

    2. Yeah poor guy wouldn't know what to do
If you weren't there in your zoo
      But thankfully all is well
Maybe you should get him a little collar with a bell
